Ahhhh Red 2..you spicy sweet seductress….you bring back a much more carefree time for me. I love in general how fragrance can transport us to a different time and place in our life…scent memories are wonderful.
I personally do not get the boozy sweetness so much on me…it’s more spicy and while a bit intoxicating, nothing over the top as far as gourmand on me.
I struggle to describe it on my skin, perhaps because I am so overtaken by positive memories…but while the floral…especially the jasmine is prevalent on me…I get a lot of carnation/spice. I also get comments of “what are you wearing? You smell great!”
I recently scored some lotion on Ebay and it is just as I remembered it…a little green, a little floral….a lot spicy and alluring.
Welcome home, Red 2…I’ve missed you!

    Ooh, my!
My feelings for Red 2 are so far removed from the general consensus, that I know it must be the “Rum” note ruining this for me. It’s the same situation for DKNY Red Delicious for Men.
Now, now, before you “Thumbs Down” my review, hear me out – my bottle could be “bad” as it is is the .33oz/10ml bottle. However, the glass is frosted, so I can’t imagine light being effective in “destroying” the aroma chemicals.
Anywho, Red 2 starts opens with a nail polish accord that I do not believe was intended (and sort of my first clue that my bottle might be bad). Within seconds, the nail polish accord gives way to a sickly sweet boozy note. I do not detect any fruits. The rum note finally settles down a few minutes in but remains “active” along with the main floral notes of hyacinth and freesia. I am surprised hyacinth isn’t higher on the notes, because this fragrance is rather “green like grass” smelling than “red” or “pink.”
The rum lingers offering a sweetness very similar to generic brand artificial sweeteners (pretty much unpleasant).
I feel like this fragrance is heralded due to its flavorful notes listed… I can’t deny that ALL the notes look amazing and like this would be a hard fragrance to “mess up” and execute poorly.
In short, you get artificial sweetener level sweetness of Rum and “green grassy” accord and that synthetic ozonic musk popular in all the 90s fragrances. No fruits, no candy, and Red 2 es no bueno.

Fragrance Review For Red 2 Giorgio Beverly Hills
Top Notes Strawberry Rum Watermelon Raspberry
Middle Notes: Rose Carnation Jasmine Hyacinth Freesia Peach Peony Pear
    Base Notes Vanilla Woods Praline
This is a flanker for the 1st Red by Giorgio and it’s far from smelling anything like it. Red was a multi faceted powerful perfume which some have compared to 80’s fragrant bombs like Ysatis Coco Poison or even Cinnabar. This is a sweet fruity floral gourmand scent. She is Red’s baby sister. But man is it delicious. The first time I smelled it I wanted it. The facts of this fragrance are more like red colored sweet notes. All the bit and spice of the original Red have been removed. You get a big strawberry scent mixed with watermelon smelling more like fruit shampoo than fruit candy; which is fine in my book. There’s a raspberry and cherry type of scent which was actually present in the first Red but here it’s far more pronounced. Just delicious fruity sugary sweetness. It turns progressively boozier like fruit scented rum or a rum and cherry coca cola type of scent. Delicious! Then the flowery notes begin to emerge as the fruity booziness wears off. The two dominant fruit scents that stick around till the end however are peach and pear. This is a sweet peach perfume. I smelled rose, a lovely rose very similar to the first Red rose but the other flowers are allowed time to bloom along with the rose: peony (which smells like rose in perfumery) a white jasmine, freesia, hyacinth. So for me it’s flowery enough for me to enjoy as a floral frag fan but it’s more about the fruit notes and the vanilla powder in the base. There’s also a gourmand lover’s praline. I found it very pleasant. It doesn’t throw out much sillage and the longevity is decent but not long enough for me. It’s very subtle and soft so if you like fruity floral perfumes that are soft, this is going to delight you. It’s easy to wear and great for office wear and any time wear. I have people pay compliments on it when they get close enough to get a whiff. This is delicious. I wish I could drink this rum perfume.

Why oh why did they discontinue this gem of fragrance? I found a 100 ml bottle at an obscure perfume shop today. I remember smelling this back in the 90’s. I was a teen back then and thought “Wow… It’s beautiful but I’m too young for this”. Many, many fragrances and years later I finally owned the Red, which is THE ultimate evening fragrance and now, the yang is completed with the yin, the Red 2 which should be its afternoon counterpart.

I agree with DarlingNikki, it should be called “Pink”. I would assume that Red 2 would be a fragrance similar, somewhat to Red (which I love).
I like this fragrance. Woodelf description is right on.

This was one of my favorite scents back in high school! I haven’t smelled it since, but I recall it being full of sweet fruits floating on a base of gentle, warm vanilla. This actually was the first ‘pink’ style fragrance that I ever wore and I often wondered why it wasn’t called Pink since it has no relation at all to the original Red, which was too strong for my liking.

Red 2 is very different from Red. I expected a lighter or summer version of the original, but although it is certainly very suitable for spring and summer, I personally cannot detect any ressemblance to Red. As opposed to the original warm oriental fragrance, which I also own and love, Red 2 is a semi-sweet fruity fresh scent, really nice and very wearable during daytime. Highly recommended, especially for young women.

If I ever had a signature fragrance, this was it. Everywhere I went, people commented on how good I smelled and inquired about my perfume. I really hate that this was discontinued. It was my favorite.

I purchased Red 2 based solely on the notes listed here and I have not been disappointed! Red 2 is a light and sweet fruity floral that delivers.
On first spray, I smell raspberry, peach and pear mixed with a bouquet of roses and jasmine. The watermelon is not strong to my nose – it just lightens this brew and keeps it fresh and sparkling. Praline keeps it sweet.
The woodsy notes, carnation and peony give Red 2 just enough of a balance to keep it from flying off my skin. I wish the sillage was stronger and that it lasted longer on my skin, but really, that is the only “bad” thing I can say about Red 2. Overall, it is a delightful scent.

One of the few fragrances I ordered without trying; only based on the ingredients. Was a good choice, in spite of my worries knowing Red by GBH. Red2 is a very nice fresh and fruity scent, also good staying power. I feel the peach & raspberry most. Also, quite rare – I totally recommend trying it.
