Somewhere in between Iris Ganache and Apres l’Ondee, this powdery gourmand has a nice white floral twist and a herbal touch ( rosemary). The Delacourte musky signature is quite present, too, besides Wasser’s genuine gourmand note on a blue-purple flower base.
Elegant, distinguished, original … Guerlain !

Still in the midst of testing, but here are some initial thoughts:
Quand Vient La Pluie is essentially an amalgam of many powdery vanillic purple florals I’ve tried. Its inspiration was Apres L’Ondee and I think QVLP resembles it the most. ALO is dustier, less sweet, and less vanillic in comparison. QVLP has a very citrus-y opening and the orange blossom helps maintain this accord throughout wear time. The praline adds a gourmand feel and gives the scent a modern vibe. Very Thierry Wasser, it’s in line with many of his other creations for Guerlain based on both the composition and structure (citrus-y opening, powdery drydown). In addition to ALO, I am reminded of L’Heure de Nuit, L’Heure Bleue, Ombre Mercure, Iris Ganache, Insolence, and Esprit d’Oscar, among others. Some on here voted that it’s similar to Gucci EDP, but the aforementioned scents are much closer to my nose.
I thought I’d never be able to get a chance to try this extremely rare and HTF scent, so I’m very happy to have gotten the opportunity!

Lovely, classy fragrance. Fleeting, though,,would have to buy the parfum though,,when my ship comes in. Gourmand violet. Sweet, but not cloying

I had the opportunity to put a few drops on – apparently it was an extremely limited edition – but the woman at the Guerlain counter at Nieman-Marcus had a teeny tiny amount squirreled away.
I was ready to swoon. It was an amazingly light fresh violet-heliotrope perfume, anchored by a very classic adult base. It was *exactly* the type of modern violet perfume i have been searching for!
I wouldn’t be ready to spend $400 for it, but it was an honor to get to wear a teensy bit for a few hours

I wore this fragrance for four consecutive days and I am totally entranced with it’s aroma. This quasi-Chanel perfume with it’s bizarre sequence of events is one to be experienced. The collection of notes used produce a contrasted effect with the end result being none other than a melody amour’! Quand Vient La Pluie is aptly named as the bergomot and neroili fall like raindrops into the heart, intermixed with the heliotrope enabling the violet to create the balance. In the base, the southern sweetness from the gourmand praline accompanied with patchouli and musk define this array of notes as a continuous charmer. This fragrance ,although a limited edition, with all it’s grandeur should have been awarded a FiFi, or at least have been in the running, as I found this to be a simply stunning scent!
