Description
Puro by Nejma is a line inspired by Christian Bousidan’s time spent in Havana and his enjoyment in the aromas of rum and Cuban cigars, scents of the sea and exotic climate. A magic moment was sufficient to inspire a line of perfumes that needs to reflect all of those wonderful aromas. The collection presents two fragrances Puro and Puro Intense. We will write about them and about other fragrances in today’s reportage.
Puro Intense opens with Caiprihina lime and antic rum. In the heart there are ingredients are cocoa bean and roasted coffee, laid on the base of mahogany and tobacco leaf. The nose of the composition is Christian Bousidan.
Puro Intense is available as 40 ml EDP. Puro Intense was launched in 2010.

I was on the fence with this after the first sprays, but the dry down is what makes this scent magical. Boozy, woody, cocoa, coffee. I’m wearing this on a 70 degree spring day and usually these are notes I would avoid in warmer weather. But Puro Intense works for me. A winner.

PURO INTENSE = PURO + PEPPER + A BIT LESS SWEET
Read my review of Puro and just add some pepper, take out some fruit, and make it even longer lasting (def. over 12 hours).
Never mind – I’ll save you the trouble of finding my review:
“SWEET ALCOHOLIC
Blasted off with this overly sweet (fruity) and alcohol fumes. Not ‘boozy’. More the kind of alcohol often used as a transport system for fragrances.
It took 2 hours – yes, 2 hours, for that initial blast off to calm down and allow for any other notes to peek thru.
I did eventually get some spices, and the sweetness mellowed (as did the alcohol).
This is overkill. Not refined. Not nuanced. Not for me.”

Nejma PURO INTENSO is the more unisex of the PURO duo, with coffee and cocoa notes more dominant than the tobacco and the mahogany. The opening offers a bright, if brief, burst of lime, which swiftly blends in with the emerging crushed cocoa and coffee beans. This all may sound as though INTENSO is veering toward gourmand territory, but there is absolutely no sugar added here, so the cocoa and coffee notes are really of the beans, not the foody products, including beverages, in which they typically figure. No vanilla is present here either, as far as I can tell.
This creation is a must-sniff for aficionados of unsweetened cocoa and coffee notes. The tobacco and mahogany serve as the foundation rather than the focus of this extremely well blended composition. Nejma PURO INTENSE is an epicurean treat for the nose which would clearly work for guys but also gals who find Trussardi INSIDE and La Perla ECLIX and Bond no 9 SO NEW YORK a bit on the sweet side. The quality of this perfume is at least as good as any of those.
