As the others have said, this is a hard fragrance to describe. It’s very warm and sweet with the black rose showing up about 10 minutes after spraying and then it gets more complex. I’ve tried most of the Mauboussins and my favourite is the original, but I think, for me, this is a close second, it’s a more everyday fragrance than the original, less of a wow factor, but that doesn’t make it any less lovely.

Sweetish dry woody smell in the family of santalwood, frankincense, myrrh and yet it resembles none of these. It’s very comforting, it’s got big persona and I love the residual smell in my clothes but it’s not an everyday fragrance. It’s more an winter evening smell. The projection is fine and the longevity is quite good but it does vanish rather abruptly after 5-6 hours.
