“The Princess Pauline Borghèse, Napoleon’s sister, famous for her beauty, spent the winter of 1807/1808 in Grasse, and came back often until the fall of the Empire. Legend has it she sat on a small throne sculpted in a rock, in the park in Grasse which now bears her name. In her tribute, we have created this feminine and spicy fragrance. At its top, the Mediterranean air carries pink peppercorn and blackcurrant. Its heart beats with the Rose of May, the most beautiful flower from Grasse, and a spicy geranium. Princesse Pauline by Galimard is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Princesse Pauline was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Caroline de Boutiny. Top notes are pink pepper, black currant and sea notes; middle notes are rose de mai, bourbon geranium and chili pepper; base notes are white musk and patchouli.

WOW! A three letter review, just WOW!
There is a dominant chili which is working beautifully with the marine notes. And what a brilliant idea to add geranium into the mix! (I repeat: WOW!) Blackcurrant is shining through this sea of spice from a distance and the patchouli is also staying in the background keeping it low-key. If rose is included (I can’t detect it properly), then it does a wonderful job taking out some of the sharpness.
I’m not surprised at all that there are positive votes from men for this fragrance. It is so special (I try not to use the word unisex), I can easily see why it wows both male & female perfume lovers alike.
