Description

Prada announced a novelty in its Candy fragrance collection – a new release named Candy Sugar Pop coming out in February 2018. Prada Candy Sugar Pop, is a fun and youthful interpretation of Prada’s signature caramel fragrance, enriched with extra notes of fruits and sweets. The composition features greens of bergamot, green citruses, red apple, white peach and Mahonial floral molecule, all on a base of vanilla.

The perfume’s bottle is inspired by the three-layer Prada Saffiano bag in pastel pink, blue and yellow. The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum.

The nose behind this fragrance is Daniela (Roche) Andrier.

I like several of the others, but this one I can barely smell. It’s a brand new bottle purchased from an authorized distributor, and the batch code checked out fine. It’s just very light, delicate floral fruity skin scent. Pretty, but barely there and somewhat nondescript. I do love the color scheme of this bottle.

I love and collect the whole Candy line of Prada.the original is one of my all time favorites,I also love Kiss,Gloss and L’eau. Floral and Collector edition are the only ones I don’t love but still I like them so I couldn’t wait for Suger Pop to reach my country and finally it did
Well It seems to be something I like but I don’t love. It’s not as memorable as the original Candy or Kiss or Gloss.
Suger Pop is nice and pretty. It’s not as sweet as I wished and I don’t smell caramel in it.opens as a delicately sweet, fresh, fruity scent with citruses, apple and peach. It’s refreshing, girly and youthful.very easy to wear and inoffensive.it’s fruity undertone which is very dominant in first stage gradually fades away and is replaced by a soft and clean, slightly soapy combination of white musk, powder and florals.it seems to have some lemony floral genes from the Floral version and some powdery musk from Kiss and it blends these with it’s own peach and apple DNA
Sillage seems to be soft to moderate.longevity is moderate
In my wantlist but I can’t justify buying it with the ridiculous prices they ask for it in my country

For lovers of skin scents only. I like this a lot because, despite the description as a sweet fruity gourmand, on me it smells like a white musk skin scent. Something like a super smooth sheer powdery version of Jovan white musk without any sharpness.
It does open with a soft sweetish citrus/peach accord but then clean musk. I get a good 4-6 hours from it, which suits me fine because I enjoy topping up throughout the day.
If I had to name this I would call it Candy Musk Cloud. If you like powerhouse fragrances stay away from this and Gloss and Kiss too, which I also love, but you guys will hate.
Btw I’m anosmic to the original and L’eau made my tongue go numb.

Hmm, its nice actually but far more generic than their other Candy flankers. Its light fruity gourmand sort of a thing. My coworker said it smelled nice but its kind of forgettable

sorry candy fans but this one & l’eau just smelled nasty on me…………i know really harsh words but thats my description nasty smell lol but o a good note i love all the other candy scents – they all smell great !!!!

Adorable and gorgeous for the first twenty minutes, smells like adorable fancy baby angels lol, or like really nice skincare mixed with peach candy.
But after a while the musk gets overwhelming on my skin and it makes me feel like I’m suffocating, I had to scrub it off as soon as I got home.
Kiss does the exact same thing on me but I do prefer this one over Kiss.
Gloss seems to be the only one in this line that really works for me.

It smells like nail polish remover. I want all the flankers to die so they can focus on the original. We want Prada candy intense and body oil asap.

I enjoy many peach fragrances of all kinds. I am a big fan of Allure EDP, not as much the EDT. So I also like the peach in this scent. My concern with this scent is that it turns really really powdery on my skin after an hour or so. That doesn’t make me hate it but it makes it closer to a like than a love for me. I collect bottles and the bottle is definitely a love for me.

Sugar water. Lovely scent, but stays on for about 30 minutes.

This is one of those fragrances that just works for me. It’s a sweet, pretty, sorta fruity, sorta flora, sorta soapy scent on my skin. It smells sweet and clean. I adore it. Very girly. It’s strong on me too. Lasts a good 4-6 hours at least.

Wow it really went wrong with this fragrance? Daniela (Roche) Andrier has made some pretty successful fragrances but what happened to this one. She seems to create winners for the Coty Brands is there a conspiracy?

Pfft. Nothing special. Some fruits, some sweets—reminds me of a caramel-dipped apple. Suitable for teenagers and clubbing 20-somethings and that’s about it. Sillage is fairly soft, actually.

The opening is very synthetic, later it turns into a faint powder. I was expecting something way sweeter, really gourmand. Sugar Pop is a disappointment!

Not bad scent, but I’m not impressed with it. I hoped to smell something as good as the original. It’s not as powdery and the caramel note is very weak in it.
Actually the whole scent is quite weak and it doesn’t last.
I sense peach more strongly in it.
I wouldn’t want to buy it because of how weak it is.

I didn’t want to give anyone the wrong impression when I suggested the similarity to intimate fantasy. Theu are by no means identical, in fact I wouldn’t even layer them because they wouldn’t go. But they just have the same baby sunscreen feel. I actually think this is way more similar to DG the one. But apparently more people agree with my intimate fantasy comparison

I feel like this one has/had potential but unfortunately for me the barely there sillage and gone in less than half an hour longevity ruined any potential this may have had for me.
I can faintly see the similarity people are comparing this to Britney’s Fantasy Intimate Edition, but Britney’s frag is sweeter to me and surprisingly Prada’s is not sweet to me like Spears, this Prada is more fresh and citrusy.
I pick up almost an almond note with Spears frag (even though no almond note is listed), or the brown sugar/vanilla is translating that way to me with Spears frag, and that is predominant to me with Spears frag, and I get none of that with Prada here. With Prada here I am getting more of a citrus scent dominating. This Prada smells clean and fresh compared to Spears Intimate Edition, but again, I can see the similarity. I pick up the apple note here, which is obviously missing with Spears frag. But still, I faintly see the similarity. Both have that soft sweetness, this from the caramel note and Britney’s from the brown sugar.
I think the main difference is the litchi in Britney’s that makes Britney’s sweeter (and gourmand) than this, and Prada here is more citrus (and clean), due to the citrus notes, the bergamot, peach and apple. I almost pick up a slight powdery-ness with this Prada frag. But again, this Prada frag poofs way too fast for me. It had potential, though. Perhaps this lasts longer on different people. (Sorry for the comparison. But I wanted to say my experience in case anyone wanted this, hoping for a Britney dupe.)

I get no Carmel or candy tones, just a light floral musk. Smells just like Clean Skin Reserve blend

This, like Tocca’s Giulietta, turned into straight-up soap on me. It was really gross – and surprising, considering Prada Candy is so pleasant.

I actually got a sample of this the last time I was in Sephora. I LOVE original Candy. I was surprised I loved this one as much or more. I love the fresh, fruity opening, and then dry down into that beautiful soft vanilla-sweet smell I associate with candy. It doesn’t last a long time, but perfumes never last long in me. No more than six hours. I plan on picking up the full size for my birthday.

  21. :

It’s sprite and powder musk, not at all similar to Candy L’eau (which I like). I think the peach note is what makes it good on me, though not fbw. Maybe fans of Candy Kiss would like this, because it has a similar base. I have a rollerball sample.

Amazing sillage of base notes on my skin. Just tried a tester without expecting to like it..but, it is unlike anything I have had before..Very clean and unique smell. Never thought this line within Prada would be interesting to me. I’m shocked. Will definitely get one.

Smells very youthful and girly. I wish I can describe what it smells like but it’s just like all the other perfumes out there. Non-perfume junkie tweens would love its sweet scent and the cute bottle. safe perfume gift.

  25. :

This is a huge nothing. There is nothing inside the bottle…very weak sillage, zero longevity, and the smell likes Candy L’Eau.
OFF: I find it extremely flattering that the brands can make wishy-washy “perfumes nowadays, all for shameful price.

this smells like common kids cologne more on citrus and it drys down like old perfume. the scent is not related to candy line at all. i love the old prada candy.

  27. :

This is sadly very boring and it does smell a mess. It is nothing disastrous or offensive per say. However, it smells of sugary water with some faint floral notes which give it that synthetic chemical smell. Not nice at all it smells juvenile not even girly, just like a synthetic kids fizzy bubble bath smell. No way is this ever worth the price tag assigned to it, this is one of those scents that probably costs pennies to mass produce. They must be making an absolute killing selling this for £60.

How is caramel the top voted note in this??? I can’t smell even a drop of caramel or vanilla for that matter. To me, it smells like a vague shampooey, apple/citrus water. It’s so so transparent and soulless and I am struggling to even detect it. I mean I GUESS it’s an okay scent. Kind of reminds me of a DKNY apple flanker? But tbh I would save your money and just get a DKNY apple flanker if you like fresh, shampooey apple scents. Because for what this baby costs, I would expect more. DKNY is much much cheaper and honestly, some of the flankers smell much better than this one. That’s just my opinion though.

I was so excited to finally find this at my local sephora! Im just trying it this morning. It reminds me of something but I can’t put my finger on it. When I think of it I’ll be able to give a better review. But for now, heliotrope and peach dominate for sure. I actually rather like it. Like most candies, yeah it’s weak. But it’s pretty and feminine. Powdery even. Or heliotropey in the baby fresh kind of way. I definitely like it. Bam! I got it! It smells like Dolce and Gabbana the one EDT!

So is this just a weak caramel apple?

  31. :

I had high hopes for this one after how much I LOVE Candy Gloss…but it is simply just light sugar water. I can’t discern many individual notes, and it’s just frankly pretty boring. I am disappointed, because the bottle is adorable and I was looking forward to owning it. At least I tried before I bought it blind.

  32. :

I really like this one. It isn’t too strong so it is perfect for work. I get a strong scent of flowers when I first apply it. Once it dries down it smells strongly of caramel and apple but the apple scent is more like the skin of a red apple versus the meat of the apple. It reminds me of picking an apple from the tree in the fall and smelling the fresh picked apple. I can see myself purchasing more when this is gone.
The only downside is that the longevity is only 4 hours on me so I would have to reapply during the day.

I got to test this one today–wasn’t too sure about it at first and I want to wear it more to analyze what I am smelling in the top notes, but once it dries down I really like it. It makes me think of Prada Candy Gloss a lot, and definitely it’s more like that than the OG Candy, but it’s got a little more freshness. Maybe a summer version of Candy Gloss. Not sure I need both since i have a bottle of Gloss but sometimes that one is a bit too cloying and I might think about getting this one this summer.

Finally got to try this one @ Sephora I love the Candy Line & while yes I don’t like them all I always get excited when I see a new release. (Still waiting for a Candy Noir or Intense guys c’mon!!) Any who at first I was a bit put off by this on the strip but I spritzed it on my skin still & proceded to walk around the mall & it grew on me. It was so reminiscent it reminded me of something else..& for some reason I thought of JPG Classique only lighter & doused in caramel..deff a nice one if you like Classique but find it a bit mature & cloying..deff a stand out of the line but shares some similarity to Candy Kiss DNA (dry down is kinda similar)..I deff myself get more apple & carmel than anything..but yes deff my 3rd fav. of the 6..friends seemed to like it on me & told me you need that it smells sooo goood on you!

I was eagerly anticipating this one, as I have had every one of the Prada Candys. Oh, so sorry this was a disappointment! Smells perfectly nice, pleasant, sweet, but absolutely no staying power. Weak as water! At least it’s better than Candy Kiss, the only one of the Candy flankers that I truly disliked at first sniff. Layering Sugar Pop with Candy L’eau helped a bit with longevity, but Sugar Pop is awfully expensive for being so weak. Glad I only got a rollerball

Bright and sharp citruses and bergamot in the beginning transform into smooth creamy base, which is very quiet, nearly whispering. My opinion is that this perfume is nothing special, has no character.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

I’m not quite sure about Candy Sugar Pop yet, it seems to be “a like”, but it’s nowhere near as impressive as Candy Kiss-which in my opinion is the best in line-, Candy Gloss, which is very interesting medicinal rendition, or Candy.
Prada Candy Sugar Pop seems to be the fun, playful scent, although it’s not the “typical fun fruity tacky girly perfume”- it’s Prada. The majority is hoping for “a real floral fruity gourmand”, when Candy Sugar Pop is not. A lovely scent, easily likeable, fun, modest, honeyed, well blended and strictly close to the skin. The vanilla here is going to be disapointing for gourmand vanilla lovers as it’s more smooth and not even close to being edible and not sweet.
The opening is evocative of nail polish remover. It transforms into an apple-y scent, sour a bit, there is some lemon too. It smells familiar, “I know this scent from somewhere”. Like an apple solifloral, woodsy, barely any floral, no gourmand really. It’s primarily all fruity apple and peach. There is a touch of sugar and a caramelic undernote from Pink Sugar with white musk.
Becomes a skin scent fast but does not disappear as fast as people mention.

Haven’t been able to try yet, but it IS at Sephora (“exclusive”) at this point.
Only 10 reviews on Sephora site–5 five star, 5 one star, so I guess it will be a “love” or a “hate”, lol!
Seeing those split reviews got my curiosity going–hope to stop at Sephora tomorrow!

Is it me, or does this smell almost identical to Prada Candy L’eau? Blind bought this and am now regretting it because I have the L’eau version.
Edit: L’eau is a little sweeter and more mature, while Candy Pop is more floral and a little more youthful. Candy Pop does last longer than L’eau but it only lasts about 5 hours before it completely dies. Anyways, this one has Prada Candy DNA. It’s sweet and floral. Perfect for spring

  42. :

Maybe i’ll be the only one who thinks this, but this is extremely weak. It’s a lovely fragrance, but unfortunately it leaves barely any trace. I tried it first on a blotter and was surprised how weak it was, then on the skin, and it’s the same story. Comparing to the other Candy family members, this would be like a body mist to me.
Delicate, sweet fragrance that’s not over the top, but unfortunately, extremely weak…

    Very pretty!
Sugar pop opens with juicy fruit bubblegum with big load of apples and peaches. That fruityness stays for a long time; as it gets to the heart, I do not really detect any floral notes. It is sweet, but it’s also fresh and that keeps it from getting cloying or syrupy. The opening reminds me of The One very much minus lychee.
The base is soft, sweet, fluffy and quite floral, not too much caramel here. It’s quite like the Prada Candy Florale! Like I would smell musky peonies somewhere but not as intense. The peach keeps lurking in the background as holding the signature note of Sugar Pop.
I think the bottle represents the scent very well; that bright combination of candy colors reminds me of the vintage fruit bubblegum wrappers ( matching well with the opening). And the core of the bottle is like Florale’s, as I think they have the base in common. It seems to be a happy nice addition to the Candy line, looking and smelling good as her sisters, yet I think the first Candy is the ultimate; most original and pioneer of the Candy family.

It’s so creamy & dreamy! My kind of scent. It isn’t as sweet as the original one & l’eau. It’s exactly like the original one but with the hint of peach, apple & pour in some milk! That’s how I would describe this lovely scent. The bottle is gorgeous too! Love at first sniff!

Deff. gotta try this one, L’eau & the original still stand as my favorites from the line, but this sounds promising. wish they’d make a candy in a black bottle already like a Candy Noir or Intense.. just a thought..
