The opening is sublime. I get a resiny sweetness, although this quickly fades. I don’t really get any pepper. Next, you get the leather accord, top quality, like a new wallet or bag. To my nose, the patchouli is quite prominent, I would say it slightly overpowers the leather accord. Going into the dry down the vanilla and musk make an appearance, which balances out the composition wonderfully. The sillage is heavy and this stuff is seriously long lasting.
At first, I wasn’t that impressed. But getting to know the fragrance and the quality of the ingredients, this fragrance is really growing on me, it has now turned into a love.
I’ve also got Mystery Tobacco from this line and that is in my top five, this line is top quality.
This, to me, this is what niche is all about, a complete package. The presentation is absolutely top-notch, the bottle is a work of art, it’s cylindrical with faceted sides, the top of the bottle is coated translucent silver, which fades to clear glass down the side. The base is gold metallic and the cap is magnetic, similar to Amouage. A nice touch is that you get the notes printed in gold on a card, this is housed in a sheath, which sits at the rear of the box.
