Description

The new collection Pivoine Flora is announced for May 2011 as a fragrant tribute to beautiful peony. The collection presents EDP and EDT Pivoine Flora, along with a whole range of perfumed products to make this spring sensational and romantic.

Pivoine Flora Eau de Parfum starts a story about spring. A green, tart, luminous and shiny opening is announced by accords of grapefruit, bergamot and green notes, as an overture to a bouquet of peonies in a heart surrounded with magnolia and violet. Base notes provide a fine trail of vanilla, musk and cedar.

I have a small rollerball of this fragrance I purchased long ago – must have been when it first came out. I don’t know why I’ve never purchased the full size becuase every time I find it and take a sniff I just feel like this is what happiness smells like. Maybe it is because where I grew up we had many peonies so it reminds me of home, summer days – or maybe to me this is just the scent of happiness. All I know is I love it – and since I haven’t seen that vial in quite a long time now, it might be time I buy the full size. This one really is a mood booster for me. Love it.

Low longevity but good for hot summer days. Fresh, soft and feminine flower scent.

I just watched a very interesting interview on YouTube with the nose behind this. She says that oil of peony did not exist in parfumerie before l’occitane worked with a peony botanist and then gave her the essence or extract to use. That is so interesting. So I wonder if all other peony notes are generally synthetic?! I melted this (maybe the edt?) in the store and it is really nice, my favorite if all the florals I sampled. Not exactly a full review as I don’t own it and haven’t worn it. The story behind the notes makes me want it!

Gorgeous summery warm floral that is very feminine. Not fantastic staying power (maybe 6 hours) but layered with the shower gel and the body lotion gives you a bit more longevity.
It really does have that classic L’Occitane smell about it – their perfumes and cosmetics all have a very distinctive small which sucks me right in as I really love their products.
Quite cheap really compared to a lot of other quality perfumes but it has a very good quality.
Some of the L’Occitane perfumes can be a little strong (lavender) and I have found some a little headachey. However this perfume is by far one of l’Occitane better ones, I just love it.
Definitely a daytime scent. I’m onto my second bottle now and when that runs out, I won’t hesitate to buy a replacement.

Lovely but not much longevity. I found their body lotion and shower gel on sale, and, when I combine all three, then the scent sticks all day without being overbearing. I would agree with the others that this isn’t a “signature scent” with oodles of personality. However, I wear it to work and get lots of compliments there.
(As sad as it is, I am also the only woman at the managerial level at my workplace, and hitting everyone at the next board meeting over the head with 24 Faubourg or the like just wouldn’t be the right thing to do.)

first i must admit i have a l`occitane problem, i buy a lot of their products.
i consider them high quality and they have a signature sent to them which apparently really appeals to me.
i was lusting over “pivoine flora” since the adds came out, and it didn’t disappoint me, stars off very(veryyy)pungent and has a concentrated flower smell but at the same time something light and green calms it down and makes it very refreshing and (not in the bathroom spray kind of way)wearable.
“pivoine flora” may not be a complex or sophisticated perfume, but then again non of l`occitan’s parfumes are or pretaned to be.
great for summer and appropriate for so many occasions, plus everybody around seems to like it.
if your a peony lover and need a little break in the hot weather from all those over rated “one of kind” sents give this one a try.

A breath of spring in the middle of winter. It is a pleasure wearing Pivoine Flora EDP in colder weather, on me it has an invigorating effect. In summer, I wore the EDT and I must admit at that moment I liked it a lot more than the perfume. After owning both, I think I’ll go with the perfume.
The EDP is juicy, flowery, at the same time fresh and warm, whereas I don’t feel the same warmth in the EDT. I agree completely with the reviewer below – raw umber, who says PF has the “nondescript Occitane signature scent”- floral, powdery with watery undertones. The peony note stands out the most in the opening, when the rose note is also the most palatable. Then follows a juicy mix of bergamot and grapefruit. Later on the fragrance becomes sweeter and powdery, not that much with the sweetness of vanilla and sandalwood, but with the sweetness of flowers in bloom. Like when you stick your nose in a blossom, you smell the sweet pollen, the waxy petals and a bit of the stems. It could be because the perfume has ylang ylang oil, not listed here, but on the perfume box. I feel the same with their Rose series
Nevertheless, it is not a heavy, in-your-face floral fragrance, but it just makes me want to sniff more. The sillage and longevity are excellent (overnight when sprayed on hair) and do not fail to attract compliments.

I smelt this and I thought this is lovely (despite the fact I dislike peony). It has such a cute bottle as well! It has some similarities with YSL Babydoll. Shame it fades very quickly. I wish it was more widely available in my country.

This stuff is L’Occitane slurry and I LOVE it! It smells so specific, so distinctly “L’Occitane” relative to other houses, while remaining pretty non-descript. A clang of green against tart rosy/violet florals over a transparent musky, rice papery film of a base.
It reminds me of comforting things, and like a laser, itcuts right through all those damn cardamom frags I own.,It’s light enough for day, (demonstrates a metallic glimmer at night) and I can always smell it on me.
Longevity is average, not bad.. and it gets complimented a lot, which is a bonus. Dump this in the ocean and I WILL come swimming around your boat. Slurry!

On me this is gorgeous. And it lasts and lasts and lasts. I received the gift set with soap, lotion, and spray. I have received compliments wearing just the lotion. Last night after bathing with a different soap and lotion, I sprayed some fragrance and I’m still smelling it at lunch the next day.
Reviewers are right in that it’s not 100% true peony. But it’s peony-like, and if asked to name the flower, I’d probably say Peony. It’s also a rose tempered with violet and topped with a giant a Spring garden in bloom. This could be one of the YSL Paris series. It has that same Spring core with a variation on a theme. It also has the clean freshness of “Babydoll.”
If you’re one of those Chanel 19 Rochas Femme types, or one of the white-floral only types this probably isn’t for you. But if you’re like me and you thrive in roses and deep florals, give it a try.
EDIT: It’s now 24 hours after my shower and spray, and I can still smell this. AND I hiked in the woods for three hours today and worked up a good bit of sweat on my brow. Maybe the people that say it has no staying power need a better moisturizer??

As a fan of all the pivoine flora collection (‘re my review on pivoine flora eau de toilette) I decided to try this hoping it would maybe be a bit more intense that the edt. Did I regret that, this edp smells nothing like the edt and nothing like the pivoine flora collection as a whole. A real let down, stick to the edt, better fragrance and more value for money

I really love Pivoine Flora. The opening notes are green and a bit grassy with some citrus freshness. It is a warm and cosy floral, not overly sweet. I don’t know why I smell something more nutty than vanillic, something very subtle which blends beautifully with the delicacy of peony and magnolia (magnolia being one my favorites notes in perfumes).
My only complaint would be about longevity. Even if I overspray I can barely smell it after an hour. I tried to wear it with the body lotion but I don’t think they match very well…the scent is quite different.

This is my favorite scent of all time! Although I do not wish to buy another bottle, the other floral perfumes I fancy all have that heavenly peony scent.
    Perfect for everyday use.

Me and hubby were visiting l’occitane counter to ask wether they still have bergamot tea. They didn’t have it anymore, suggested me verbena (spritzing my left arm). I didn’t like it,. I continued the searching and asked the SA what she would suggest me that i love cherryblossom from their line. She spritz me this juice from beautiful simple bottle n it was love at first sniff. It’s exactly as they say (green tart luminuous n shiny) eventhough i read it just before i write this review. I left the store to challenge it’s longevity n sillage… The test was never happened. Hubby love this on me too so less than 15 minutes i got back to the store and brought it home.. So, after the proper test, here it is:
Beautiful not so sweet fresh bouqet and elegant smelling detected an arm length. Longevity 4 hours.. Stay on clothes longer than on my skin.
I wouldn’t mind buy me another bottle when this run out 🙂

Pity! This is such a classic feminine floral! Bright and sweet without cloying OR acidity, and clean and warm on drydown. Not terribly sophisticated, but perfect for daily wear in the heat. Too bad the longevity and sillage is massively disappointing. Would be a classic summer fragrance for this house otherwise. It hits all the right L’Occitane notes. However, like a bloom in the sun it has its moment…and then wilts and fades. Really a shame.

I love the scent, and received a compliments on it, only it didn’t last long AT ALL!! I nearly had to bathe in the stuff – not good value for money. Would like a scent just like this that lasts though!

I think this smells divine as a floral. It starts out as a crisp, green, peony fragrance. After ten minutes I mostly get sweet, summery magnolia blossoms with a whisper-soft touch of violet. I don’t pick up any of the base notes whatsoever. I am not big on florals, but I would have considered purchasing this one if it lasted longer on my skin. Longevity was a measly 60 minutes–and this is the EDP! I wouldn’t even bother with the EDT.

Pivoine Flora opens with an astoundingly accurate damp grass note, it truly is the most magical ten seconds before the pure essence of peony, freshly cut stems mostly, bursts through leaving a trail of wonder in its wake on this wearer as I muse curiously “just how do they (L’Occitane) manage to get it so damn close?”.
This marvelous accuracy and respect for nature is somewhat short lived as minutes later the entire concoction morphs into a mellow citrusy powdery cedary and dare I add, house signature, synthesis.
Oh L’Occitane! Sooo close! Can’t fault the first twenty seconds, and the rest ain’t bad it is just I have been there before, many times.

This is my second review of this fragrance. I am somewhat dismayed by the other reviews, because I truly love this stuff. When I wear it, I find myself smelling my wrist compulsively. I have also been asked what perfume I am wearing more than any other perfume in my wardrobe besides Ellen Tracy. I get a lot of compliments on it. On me, it is not too sweet; as it develops the violet note becomes more prominent and the whole structure of the fragrance remains very green and fresh. It has a vintage feel to it, as though it belongs at the beginning of the last century. When I wear it I feel like I should be in an impressionist painting, wear a white cotten lawn dress… I love it.

I don’t know if it was this one or the piony but it smells just like Gucci Envy me. I like it, it’s very sweet, a nice daytime scent for summer or spring.

I bought a bottle of the EDP recentl at the airport. I had just been at a duty free shop sniffing away and really wanted to buy something, but just couldn’t find anything I liked enough to drop the kind of money they charge for their perfumes. Finally, I washed all the perfumes off, had some lunch and on my way tot the gate saw the L’Occitane store. I had been to one of those in France and really liked their lavender fragrances…and I wsa really in the mood to buy some juice! I don’t have enough experience with descriptors yets to say why I like this perfume so much, but I really do. However, I didn’t like the EDT nearly as well. It smelled not just weaker, but its character was different. The EDT is too sweet. I used to live in a part of the country where peonies grow and this does smell like peony to me…

L`Occitane en Provence is a brand that comes out with natural, but all in all, not very interesting fragrances. There is one or two I really like, then the rest- I would not mind owning, but I would not fork out my own money to actually get them.
Pivoine Flora is a floral/vanilla fragrance. It is mostly sweet with hints of magnolia and peony, but there ate hundreds similar fragrances out there and I would not be able to tell a difference between this and lets say some of the Ghost fragrances. There has been more successfull attempts at floral fragrances and even L`Occitane itself has better fragrances up their sleeve in this cathegory.

This is pretty but very sweet and light and a little soapy. Sillage seems to be minimal, and the sweetness can be a little much. I was given a FB as a gift and although it’s nice, I never seem to find myself wearing it. Nice, pretty, and very inoffensive.
Update/Edit: It’s definitely growing on me, and I find myself wearing it more and more. I no longer find it too sweet! It’s very a pretty, warm floral.

banal at first, and then a little sickening… i bought a little roll-on bottle blindfold, and it definitely wasn’t a good decision… i always try perfumes on my skin before buying them, but i couldn’t find this one so i ordered it on l’occitane website (plus, i love peonies).
