Description

Petales (also known as Petalia in some markets) fragrance is inspired by the charm and style of Grace Kelly, available on the market from September 2010. The nose of the compositions is the perfumer Pierre Negrin. Petales is a scent of summer nights, stylish and feminine. It represents an ode to gardenia flower, with white petals like jasmine and tuberose, blending with woody and musky notes.

It comes in a beautiful glass bottle of 75 ml.

This is such an exquisite gardenia and I am torn between keeping it and offering it my beloved mother whose favorite flower and scent is gardenia!
I have been searching for the PERFECT gardenia for HER as well as myself for a while…what to do, what to do LOL!

Soft, delicate, beautiful, lovely, perfect bridal scent, and a must-try for white floral lovers. Many people say that Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia is the ultimate, well, tuberose-gardenia scent, but I don’t think so. That one is too watery and has a strong jasmine note as well. If you want pure tuberose and gardenia, this is it. The name is truly fitting, nothing but dewy white petals here. I have adored it for 7+ years now and keep coming back. I have always pictured this to be my wedding day perfume and now that I actually am getting married, it definitely will be. Much like my man, I don’t ever want to part ways with Petales.

Ethereal and elegant from the first spray. This ebbs and flows all day and smells heavenly. Perfection. My search for gardenia is finally over.

Always on the search for the best Gardenia, I was so fortunate to be gifted a sample of this. Wow, I just fell in love. It is the most easy to wear Gardenia soliflore, it is creamy slightly sweet and waxy, yet clear and fresh, exactly what I was wanting. I find this to be very true to flower fragrance, It smells elegant! This is what I have been looking for! Not like others on market, so happy to have this!

I feel like I’ve sampled a thousand fragrances to find my holy grail gardenia scent. I wanted something buttery like Fracas, and just as “dressy” but easier to wear. Fracas likes to be the center of attention and sometimes I want to feel beautiful but not necessarily the center of attention.
This fragrance makes me feel this way. It’s a buttery warm gardenia; almost a soliflore on me. I couldn’t pick out any of the other notes, but that’s fine with me. The gardenia is beautiful enough to stand on it’s own. I usually like a “cool” gardenia – the way the flower smells in the evening, but this is like wearing a natural gardenia when it’s on the vine in full sun. Gorgeous!

This is the creamiest, most romantic and beautiful white floral around. It truly does remind me of Grace Kelly. Unfortunately it doesn’t last more than 2 hours before I have to put my nose right on my skin to smell. I want it, but do I want it enough to pay $225 Canadian, then have to spray multiple times a day?

Idk what these reviewers are smelling. Oh wait,
I am doing a winter review and it’s not that strong
at 4-5 sprays. It smells ridiculously BEAUTY-FULL.
At first I get this buttery note. OMG. Not much gardenia
and a touch of green. If I had to live in one perfume my
whole life it’d be this. Will update come summer. Peace
***UPDATE*** Not a reach-for at all. Ok, so, this smells
ridiculously beautiful – a point which I maintain – but you
have to live up to it!!! It’s hard to find a time when I want
to actually reach for it!! But having her in mY wardrobe –
a full bottle no-less, is its own reward. It’s enough that it
is an option – that I CAN pass on reaching for it is a luxury
in and of itself, that how ridiculously BEAUTY-FULL she is.

This is such a lovely gardenia. I sprayed too much on my arm two days ago so I dabbed it with a tissue. I’ve since showered twice so the fragrance is no longer on my skin, but the tissue is still fragrant! I’m very impressed with the quality. The dry down is just as beautiful as the top notes. I’ve switched to chantecaille for all of my cosmetics too. Love them.

Alas! It is a lovely fragrance, but it doesn’t smell like gardenias. It smells like a slightly better than average ambiguous white flowers perfume. Gardenia has yet to be really captured in a bottle!

LoisAyres, you said it so well, this is definitely a “knock you on your butt” gardenia. I must say, though, that this is one perfumer who got gardenia right. The perfume smells just like the actual flower, but it’s too much for me. I love gardenia but when I pick them and put them in a bowl I want just a waft of scent when I walk by, I don’t hold the petals right up to my nose all day and that is the effect of this perfume.
This scent has a lot of promise with the faithful rendering of the gardenia. Kudos for that, but I cannot smell the alleged balancing notes for a long time and then only a bit of musk and a soupcon of warmth appear after about an hour, with no real scent of amber. If this were more well balanced I would love it. As it is, it’s like Fracas for me, too much of a good thing. I know Fracas is tuberose and this is gardenia but it reminds me a lot of Fracas in its composition. Fracas also has gardenia in it and that is what I always smell first in Fracas is the gardenia. This is in no way as elegant or well balanced as Fracas, I am not suggesting that. Just saying there is a scent reference there for me. For those of you who can wear this scent, enjoy! Heavy florals just do not agree with my body chemistry.

This really smells just like real gardenias(shocker), but very, very, strong, so at first it kind of knocks you on your butt and you need to decide if you really like gardenia THAT much (which I do) . Then, it dries down very soft and warm. Well done!

A luscious white floral with a dewy and very silky gardenia note. The jasmine and musk in the drydown feel like a familiar pairing, but what is striking about this fragrance is the clarity of it. It feels exceptionally well-crafted.
The sillage is absolutely beaming, but this could be because my skin chemistry is generally unhappy with white florals and everything gets amplified. As a result, I also expect the longevity will be outstanding for me, so I will have to scrub this one off, although I highly recommend it to anyone who can appreciate a well-done white floral fragrance!!

Phenomenal! Very long lasting (as in you can still smell it the next day) and yet not overpowering when you first apply it. It is rare to encounter such a gem. I have tried it on several times this past month and find it to be sublime, delicious and creamy.

This is a MUST for all lovers Gardenia. I have many so call Gardenia scents in my collection, this is by far the best. It is not overly sweet, green, watery, creamy. Just perfect. That is of course if you are looking for something that smells exactly like the real flower. Perfection! The dry down is warmer, but more like a Gardenia that has been pressed into a book. Very soft, just lovely.

Petalia is a very realistic white floral perfume that closely resembles the actual blossoms of the flowers listed in its notes. It’s so good that it borders on being too realistic, veering almost into the realm of actual flowers in the vase with that faint decayed note of withered blossoms, only to be saved a few hours in by the beautiful musky base that grounds it firmly in the fantasy realm of perfume. Fans of classic white florals will enjoy this one. It has average sillage and longevity and is a lovely scent for Spring and Summer.
