Smells like you’ve been bobbing for apples on Halloween. Something about it is dark with woods, heavy oaks, and quite masculine. The apple is very noticeable but it’s more like apple cider. The spices and berries smell like strong liquor. This is my first niche fragrance and it has no flowers. I’m usually a floral fragrance fan but this is pretty well done. Smells like something that you totally would have smelled on men in colonial America during the American Revolution. It’s very George Washington. I’m thinking of wearing it on the 4th of July and in costume. I love it.

Good Lord I don’t even know what this is supposed to smell like or how anyone could like it.

This is a fragrance reminding me of Early America and New England, in particular; dark greens and forests, stewed fruits, resinous spices, vats of deep red tannic wines and mulled ciders; “Apple Jack” and apple cake. Lemon and basil scrubbed stones. This is the warm, cozy scent of a mainroom cookery with a hearth, dated 17th-18th century. History in a bottle.

But I am going to give it a try…and if I still don’t feel it’s for me…on the plus side my mother liked it.

I smell nothing of the apple nor the red berries, only the oak and spices…this is not for me.
