Weak, indistinct, clean outdoors, a little smoke, wood, hint of coconut. Blah.

Element of surprise: Iris! At a sniff I thought I’ve encountered an iris fragrance, but the bottle says patchouli? The patchouli note comes in and out, and the coconut definitely gets more prominent as it dries, but the powdery iris is always there. Everything’s on the drier side; even the coconut note is like solidified oil or dehydrated flakes. A very pleasant and harmonious scent! Good for even non-patchouli fans 🙂

This is a coconut bomb!!.. starts off extremely rum-boozy to the extent of being sickening.. but settles in to a great fragrance. It’s a projection and longevity beast!! If you spray it in the morning people will still smell it at night.. and you will still smell it on your clothes days later.
I can see this being a very polarising fragrance. Personally I love it. I bought a bottle around Christmas in the sale, and then recently saw it was being discontinued and was on clearance on the Floris website for £39 so I quickly bought a back up bottle.
I’ve only had positive comments from this scent, and infact two girls at work always make a big deal when I wear it.. saying it’s their favourite mens fragrance.
There’s still some floating around on eBay.. but I imagine this will be very hard to get in the coming years.

The opening is very green medicine boozy and the dry down is not improve but very herbal with hint of coconut. This remind me of the bitter side of Guerlain vetiver. The florist patchouli just take the bitter and amplify it with addition coconut and cedar. I can understand why most of the people do not like this. Too dark, too green and bitter medicinal.

I love this! On my husband, and on me too! He smells divine in it, and I smell very interesting, but we both can’t stop sniffing each other. Very lovely soft patchouli for me, and a bit stronger and deeper on him, but the wood smell is the best part. Lovely coconut, and some nice resins., and on me the rose comes quite strongly from time to time. Really lovely. Very smooth and enjoyable, and lasts very well. We love it.

As other reviewers have stated it opens up with a big boozy burst. I don’t necessarily get Scotch; but more of a dark rum mixed with a green, dry, non sweet, coconut. The opening reminds me of a much more intense version of Heeley’s “Coccobello” (which I love). After about 10 minutes the coconut and booze disappears and a light patchouli emerges for just a little while. After the drydown, you’re left with a very green and fresh cedar (not the type of dried cedar used for hamster cage bedding; but freshly cut wood). Sillage is moderate to strong; and the longevity is definitely over 8 hours. I tried washing my arm so that I could test another fragrance and and Floris Patchouli was still going strong. Again, this is ultimately a woodsy scent – there isn’t much patchouli to be found at all. But it’s ok.

I think theres a difference between spraying this and applying this with an applicator. When I dab it on my skin from a sample applicator, I get a really nice coconuty, fig leafy scent then it goes to patchouli and woods. It smells nice.
However, when I spray it, I just get straight up alcohol and smell like whiskey. I’m not sure why this is.

I quite simply can’t get enough of this scent. I wear it more as an aftershave and like to drowse myself in it too.
It does turn heads when you walk into a room, it also seems to attract the ladies, which is not a bad thing either. Personally I feel rather sophisticated whenever I wear this. Wish that Floris would have this on a Sale, just so I can stock up on this.

Opens smelling like scotch on the rocks then turns into a nice suntan lotion possibly from the coconut/myrrh combo. I don’t hate it by any means and would probably buy it, but it’s only a step above Old Spice or Brut in my book and the price should reflect this. If this was sold at a reasonable price I would wear this on the hottest days of summer.
    The scent 6/10
    The insulting price 1/10
    Longevity 3/10
    Sillage 2/10

On first application it smells like alcohol spirits like you are smelling a open bottle of whisky and it’s quite unpleasant. After a few minutes when it settles I can pick up a light woodiness coupled with a light coconut smell. Within this woodiness is a very light and subdued patchouli note.
As time moves forward I can pick up hints of violet and other floral notes along with a slight sweetness within the very light woody patchouli mix, but only just.
The whole fragrance is pretty much non-descript. There is just nothing distinct about any of the notes in this scent. The projection is also poor as well as longevity and the scent is so light it’s very hard to pick up the individual notes.
Words that describe this scent are: Unpleasant opening, bland, non descript, boring, no character, where is the patchouli note?, disappointing.
I really wanted to like this fragrance but I cannot. I’m disappointed that Floris can come out with this after the very good Mahon Leather scent from the same exclusive range. Which imo is bottle worthy. How they can call this offering a patchouli scent is beyond me. The note is very light and buried amongst the woods. A real let down.
To sum up a very light non descript bland woody scent with a very subdued patchouli note. Out of this are slight floral hints like violet, a thumbs down for me and a scent that is not worth your money or time.
