Iam with Soccorosouza ….. i hate to read peoples reviews when they state : “ old lady smell . We all have our own personal likes / tastes .. please be a bit more respectfull..we are all going to age eventually … anyway this fume is Very rosey with strong patchouli . A tad scratchy and harsh but nice enough .

I am not a fan of rose, I have discovered however that I can enjoy Oud/rose and patchouli/rose. As far as Patch/rose goes, this is the best I have tried. Hands down. This is some heavy patchouli, moss and vetiver and if you don’t like any of those notes, better run screaming in the other direction lol I am not offended by the mouldy grapefruit comparison, heavy grapefruit and moss does smell musty/citrus and not everyone is going to like it. the rose is in there somewhere but faint, this is primarily a earthy woody BOMB. Passion Dance smells like a men’s cologne. Musty patchouli, slightly bitter vetiver and grapefruit, I detect something kinda spicy but I’m not sure what it is, this leads into warm musky mossy amber. This is one of those forgotton Avon gems that I am so lucky to have discovered. Highly recommend to woods/moss lovers.

I was given this as a gift during my teenage years, when this was still in the older retro bottle that looked like a purplish blue gift box (it was hard trying to remember the name and then search on Fragrantica, when Avon changed the design of many bottles). Anyway, I remember thinking that this was… weird. I wore it a couple of times, but it always felt like I was wearing someone else’s clothes, who was definitely more grown up.

So now “old ladies” like moldy grapefruit scent? Must tell them.
“Grandmother scent”, “old lady smell”, the last refuge of the unimaginative.

A sharp and well-defined scent, without a single trace of sweet notes. If there’s anything of a rose in it, then it’s merged with its other notes so well that you can’t call it “rosy”. Personally, I would call it “winey” and “woody” with a note of patchouli. Very clean and extremely long-lasting. Absolutely seductive and passionate as well; my first thought would be a long black silky dress and blood red lips and nails, together with mile-high heels. As I am prone to believe in skin/hair types, I wouldn’t recommend it to blonde girls.
Something most similar that comes to my mind – Chique by Yardley, if I remember well, but this one has more youth in it. Being a lover of some of the most expensive perfumes, I just must note that this was a wonderful surprise for a low price.

Passion Dance has never been my cup of tea. I only pay a little attention to it since I had smelt sth very similar at a friend’s house when I was 10. Her Mom’s perfume was stored in a wooden antique cupboard and its luxury smell when I opened it bewildered me.
Now when I have a chance to actually try it, I have to admit one fact this’s not made for me, haha. If you want to give out a sexy, powerful and confident vibe, put this on. On my wrist it lasted for more than 12 hours, even after the shower it would still linger a woody skin scent similar to those fragrances for men.
And make sure don’t blind buy this.:))

This perfume is the definition of oak moss and vetiver for me. A definition of a chypre scent too. Well, I know that in reality things are not that simple but for someone just beginning their adventure in the olfactory world, this could be a good introduction in the category.
I love it on snowy and cloudy days – it’s like a warm but mysterious, red velvet, like a promise of a wonderful evening at a concert or a theater and then in an elegant restaurant, full of candles, best wine and food – in the most retro-romantic atmosphere. One of the most interesting and timeless Avon’s scents!

Ughhh…Smells like rotten stuff. Heavy. Like you wrap a rope with a brick around your neck. Suffocatingly sharp. The. Worst. Ever.

I remember Passion Dance well. Intriguing, smooth and spicy on paper but once sprayed from the bottle, it was a whole lot of earth and sharp grapefruit.
I actually preferred Passion Dance for Men (which is not on the Fragrantica database). The bottle was slightly larger and darker than the ladies frag and the two bottles had complimentary contours that followed each other as though lovers dancing. The scent itself was creamier and deeper than the feminine version…more citrus meets Maroussia or JPG’s Le Male in a distant relative kind of way. My husband found it too sweet to wear.
I didn’t enjoy good sillage or longevity from Passion Dance which was probably a good thing as I didn’t enjoy wearing it (despite REALLY wanting to). It must not have been a great hit here in Australia and I can not remember detecting it on anyone else in the time it was available.

I just bought a bottle off ebay, and it arrive today. I already had on another perfume, so I just tested it by spraying it on paper. It seems strong, but not bad. It’s hard for me to tell until I wear something. I do know the bottle is pretty, and like stated in the review below, it’s easy to hold. I’ll update after I give it a test run tomorrow.
Update: I sprayed this, and had to wash it off after a short wearing. It’s just not anything like I’d expected from the notes, or the reviews. It’s just strong(which I like in a perfume), but it just doesn’t smell good. It doesn’t smell “off”, but it’s just an odd smell. It’s hard to make out any rose, or anything really. I had my husband smell it, and he had a strong negative reaction to it also.

One of my favorite older Avon scents….sweet ambery patchouli rose…with a hint of oakmoss and vetiver to balance it out. Very earthy but sexy, I’m glad this one is still available on ebay and has not completely disappeared forever. I wish they’d bring it back, I’d love lotion in this scent to layer it with.
The patchouli is what dominates in this one—7 hours from 2-3 sprays and it dries down to a soft patchouli amber after about 4 hours or so….but remains sexy and earthy throughout the wearing. The bottle is easy to hold and evokes a sexiness as well. I don’t think it reminds me of Lacroix Rouge at all (I have both)–I find them very different from each other.
If you love a well made patchouli-rose-vetiver scent, grab this one–you won’t be sorry!!

Strong and heady although not a heavy scent in the way a lot of Rose/Patchouli combinations can be. There is something that smells like cedar in the undertones of this giving it quite a ‘fresh’ feel but the Rose and Patchouli are dominant and remain so even in the drydown where the Amber, Wood and Jasmine join them. Because of the fresh quality I would say that this can easily be worn in the daytime. It’s a mature scent, sillage is reasonable as is the longevity (about 6 hours on me) and still easily availble on Amazon and Ebay for a good price. A bargain.

Very prominent rose scent, because of the oakmoss. I always recognise this perfume – it’s masculine, but sexy and seductive. Not for everyone, though. A great woody earthy composition by Avon. Wear this at night you won’t regret it!

Very earthy & patchouli with rose. A nice interesting dirty yet cosy feel fragrance. It smells familiar maybe someone close used to wear this when I was younger. I only rediscovered this perfume yesterday, but yeah it has a familiar scent. I like it, I imagine women who wear a lot of red sweaters and blouse’s and black skirts and heels with red matte lipstick wearing this. It’s a dirty feel yet also sophisticated and complex, it has a very interesting feel for me. It reminds me of Christmas and mince pies and the cold winter air, sitting in front of an open fire. I get a very heavy dirty earth smell which is not at all unpleasant, it is very grounding and natural smelling, then we get the heavy patchouli which makes it very spicy with the rose which adds that feminine charm. For me it is warm spicy and peppery.
It is an interesting one this one, it suits a certain type of woman, the classy, sophisticated yet fashion- wise very daring woman, who people mistake as promiscuous- who is in fact loyal and difficult to capture. She loves her red lipstick and her black and red tailored clothing style.
I have owned 3 bottles of Christian lacroix-rouge and it smells nothing at all like it. The only similarities are the colour of the bottles and the fact they are both from avon.

really nice night scent !, it makes you feel very elegant and feminine at the same time .
Its a bit heavy for the day, but for the evening of night it will fit to the atmosphere.
I buy them since i remember, and i receive compliments about the scent while i am wearing.
It remindes me more of pure red rose the one bit sour, not the sweet pinky one. This scent is mature .

One of the worst scents I’ve ever met in my life. It was an awful smell – I never met a girl who smelled good wearing ‘Passion Dance’ – and there were quite a few. Many of them bought it to try it out and got disappointed.

Why is it Avon discontinue the perfumes l can get on with. I have a sensitive sinuses and can only use certain perfumes. One was Passion Dance and True Glow. I now managed to find Passion Dance via e-bay and True Glow is to pricey for me.
Please can we get Avon to bring them back.

Good news Passion Dance Lovers. Have emailed Avon, and they say if there are enough requests for this perfume they would reconsider reinstating it.
I want it back, love it

For some reason the marketing of this perfume always gave it a Spanish feel in my view. The fragrance is good if u are looking for something feminine but with a twist. I’m not much of a rose smell fan because it’s so over used in cheap soaps… and i just find those usually end up smelling rancid.
I am trying to get over my unfortunate correlation of the 2, but i was never a fan of this perfume to begin with. Sorry =(

Another discontinued Avon that I love! I still have a quarter of a bottle left. Passion Dance is rather strong, and has lots of patchouli, but not so much that it smells like a hippie shop lol.One of my male friends loves it, the other one gets an asthma fit when I wear it (he prefers Avon Far Away). An exotic nightime perfume for sure.

Smells like graveyard, like enormous pile of flowers around coffin, like old ladies. There is for sure nobody dancing. Something I might would wear when I am seventy… Or not even then. The smell annoyed me for hours and made me sick. Wish some others, that I like, would last so long.

WOW! A really interesting scent. Exotic, spicy & oriental.
You must love strong scents to like this one as it starts really, really strong but give it time …it mellows out to an exotic, mossy & spicy smell that lasts for a while. I recommend this one for evening.

It must be really our body chemistry. On my skin this perfume is one of the most beautiful chypres without the least masculinity, it’s fresh, almost crisp and such a wonderful skin scent that I cannot have enough of it. Lasting power is also very good. When spaying it grapefruit comes first but nowhere the pink-punch girly grapefruit, it’s fun and rich, a little bit similar to Rochas femme but without the plummy dirtyness of it. but… the packaging is really awful – I’m sorry. I don’t like the dull shape of the bottle, the deep red colour and tha cheapest picture and writing on the box. Like a very cheap deodorant spray from the ’80-s. anyway, I bought 2 bottles now and will buy two other just in case avon ‘s going to discontinue this scent as it very often does with it’s best products:(

When I read some rev I have a feeling that we are not talking about the same fragrance;] To me it’s intensive but VERY female at the same time. It’s one of the most sophisticated Avon scents actually. What is more, alot of people told me I smell delicious. I like this scent on my skin. Really high rated in my collection:)

I bought it on internet. Firstly the smell seemed a bit too intensive. But now when I got used to it, I really like it. Not the best fragarance, but not bad. 🙂

  37. :

    3 out of 5

    Very intensive fragrance!
Most of all I feel the grapefruit note. From flowers notes I would say that the narcissus note is the most noticeable.
When I wear this fragrance, people usually say that it smells rich. But sometimes it opens too sour and too heavy.
Anyway, I think that this fragrance is worthy. And the lasting power is great also.

  38. :

I really love this!I get grapefruit, patchouli, oakmoss and a hint of rose. It’s a fresh, juicy, happy, full of personality scent. It’s a bit on the masculine side and this makes it special and sexy.Reminds me of my high school period.

  39. :

This does not get along with my skin at all.
When I smelled this from the bottle and on a paper blotter I thought this would be an interesting floral chypre.
It opens up harsh on my skin and I get some artificial fruits that really clash badly with my skin, then after a half an hour it gets boring chypre base, almost masculine, without any spark whatsoever. I wish the flowers were more prominent.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

All I remember is that I found it extremely alcoholic and stinky. Another Avon perfume that worse is “Tasha”.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

Has much in common with Agent Provocateur and… Nivea for man Sport Shower Gel. Okay for office. On my skin I found nothing passionate in it. It is neat and quite.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Hugely grapefruit; was the first thing that hit me. Tried a bottle as it was on special, and have been pleasantly surprised.
I don’t find this sensual or heady; quite business like and I agree with some of the other reviews that it is a bit on the masculine side. But to me that is not a negative. If I had to attach a word to it, it would be brusque.
Fresh, clean, and very good value.
Sexy bottle, tho’ I am not sure the red matches the character of the scent.
Should perhaps be dark green instead!!!

  43. :

this is my favorite scent once ago…yes someone say it’s quite musculine than feminine side Im not refuse but it very tender everytime I wear it remind me of a lady in spain come with a strong special and unique pheromone scent I dont know why ^^ …I detect the main theme of rose in here velvet rose warm wood and spicy I feel more mature and cofident when I wear this scent not old in my opinion but like a vintage or retro scent, always be captured.
