Description

Solar flowers and warm sand, Left Bank style
In this white floral blending exoticism with the allure and distinction of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the perfumer bridges two olfactory universes… Returning to the Left Bank a holiday by the Indian Ocean, a chic Parisienne carries back the essence of a tropical beach on her skin. Ocean, her skin suffused with the essence of a tropical beach.

Composed around a bouquet of solar flowers and warm sand, Paris Seychelles associates pristine salicylic white floral notes with crystalline plumeria blossoms. Its heart notes sway between the scent of monoi oil spiced up with lily and sweetened with coconut milk, and the soaring freshness of a galbanum, black pepper, ginger and petitgrain accord.

A delicate and nuanced composition conjuring warm, salty skin under a classic cashmere sweater… Paris Seychelles was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Pierre Guillaume.

No, no, no … absolutely not.
I expected more coconut, a little more sweetness but here I got a very large nymph of flowers. It looks like the smell of a rusty but wet bar.
    YUK!

I had to scrub this off. It began with a soft, white flower/Lily accord, but quickly became synthetic in nature. This smells of a gift shop on a Caribbean cruise. To top it off, it’s taking quite the effort to get it off!

This one’s clearly doing “beach” but in a almost cartoonish manner. It’s a cheap-smelling, green floral undercut with some salty, seaweedy notes. Abrasive upfront, but it settles into something more tame — a sort of jasmine / cardboard kind of thing. It’s grassy, but it’s the kind of grass that’s been sprayed pesticide. Brazenly chemical, and deeply unpleasant. It smells like a functional fragrance more than anything.

I’m not sure I’d call this aquatic. The coconut gives it a beachy feel, but from the perspective of lying on the sand, not being in the water. I don’t find anything watery about this.
It’s predominately coconut. A ripe, green, slightly bitter coconut. After about an hour, the flowers start to show off a little, with lily being the most prominent. It’s very softly floral and very pretty, but the coconut stays dominant throughout.
I detect a pinch of petitgrain, but I can’t say I notice the black pepper or ginger.
This is a nice coconut and soft floral fragrance. I enjoy my sample, but I don’t feel there’s enough going on to inspire me to buy a full bottle. It doesn’t really conjure up the images I’d hoped it would from the description and I’m disappointed that it’s not really aquatic.
Soft sillage and around 6-7 hours longevity.
