Description

Yves Saint Laurent launches its yearly limited edition fragrance Paris Premieres Roses in Spring 2015. The packaging and the bottle of this year’s flanker are decorated by Japanese artist, painter and graphic designer Houx Que.

Houx Que creates in the dark with fluorescent colors that he sprinkles on walls and floors. The result is an ultra-modern, colorful design that represents the effect of the flamboyant flower. The artist said that his goal was to “radicalize rose” so it is neither classic nor romantic.

The composition opens with accords of wild rose, violet leaf and neroli. A bouquet of damask rose, peony and lily of the valley is in the heart, laid on the base of white musk and sandalwood.

Paris Premières Roses by Houx Que is available as 125 ml Eau de Printemps.

I usually struggle with rose perfumes and this is the only one I can wear with no issues. It is a bit strong at first, but 5 min in it becomes a beautiful green rose. I agree it seems suitable for spring time, as it it sweet yet fresh. It puts me in a romantic, joyful mood every time I wear it and makes me dream of Paris. It does last nearly a full day on my skin with a soft sillage. It is one of those perfumes that you can easily do without, but it is so nice to have. Keeper!

Refreshing, greenish rose. Perfect for early spring (which in my home country is not very warm season). This is one of my favourites for work: moderate sillage but still I can smell the airy green roses the whole day. I like this one more thain the original YSL Paris. I don’t know how this compares to other flankers of Paris.

Another edition of Paris in a light version, nothing really new, but very nice nonetheless.
It smells like most of previous editions, but a little fresher. On initial phase it smells really like a diluted Paris in a good way. I love the notes. I think that the neroli gives a fresher twist and it is mood-enhancer for me.
After a while it fades in a relatively quick way, leaving just a trail of typically Paris rose but not very intense.
It’s a spring classic, gentle and utterly feminine (in a Western culture). It’s elegant, but more of a daytime soft scent. Not incredibly complex, maybe less complex than Paris EdT and EdP or even other versions, anyway it’s a keeper.

On my! This one is a beauty! First of all i really love the bottle, it is so beautiful in real life! Very cheerful and joyful.
Then the smell! It is much more intense version of previous “premiere roses” releases (i say at least for the last 2 years of them). It starts out very intense with rose and Lily of the valley and violet leaves. Unlike the last year´s edition it has much more depth and intensivity and i relaly like that. I always thought that those “Pris printemps” were quite “thin” in smell, not light, but “thin”. But this year is finally the one i really like. What i like a lot as well is the peony accord. The closer to te drydown, the more detectable it is. It gives the modern twist and pervents turning perfume into powdery violet, giving it a desirable freshness! I don´t smell neroli on my skin test, however it is quite detectable on a paper blotter!
Smells amazing while there is still snow on the ground where i live, somehow the rose perfumes, even the ligth ones smell much much better on my during colder time of the year, that´s when they are not headache inducing and enjoyable (like the Guerlain´s “Bouquet numero 2” for example). The only perfume with rose that smells very good on me during hot summer time is “Emilie” by Fragonard, all others are just turn bad or undetectable for my nose, how strange is that?! 🙂
Fresh, yet intensive! Lasts for over 10 hours on my skin (just 1 wrist spray!!!) and has a detectable sillage! Need to have it! Come on YSL, keep doing them better every time!! +++++
