Description
Yves Saint Laurent presents another limited edition of Paris Premieres Roses for 2014. It is developed by perfumer Dominique Ropion.
The fragrance is a modern, bright and fresh interpretation of the original fragrance dedicated to the city of Paris. The composition mimics the intoxicating freshness of spring flowers. It opens with accords of wild rose, violet and neroli combined with the heart of lily of the valley, peony and Damascus rose. The base notes include white musk, sandalwood and roses.
Following the tradition of the annual previous editions, the new bottle is colored in new pink tones and with new floral motifs done in gold. The fragrance is available as 125 ml Eau de Toilette.

I am no perfume expert but I really just adore this fragrance so much. It reminds me of my grandmother. Not because she work a rose scent but because she loved, and grew, roses.
I only wish it would last longer. I could bathe in this stuff.

This reminds me of the jar of crystallized rose petals in my mother’s kitchen; sweet but not like little children’s candy. Also, slightly medicinal like calamine lotion.
I like it but I don’t love it.

It’s fresh and soapy, but not in the bad way. Better than a plain rose water (it’s French after all), smells like having a refreshing shower with rose soap. Will be a nice summer scent. Has nothing to do with the original Paris, though. This one is an innocent rose while Paris is naughty.

I’m utterly dissapointed with this perfume. I’m a hughe fan of Paris and I bought this untested thinking “well if Paris is absolut perfection this cannot be anything less” Dear was I wrong!!!
The smell is of really cheap supermarket cologne, really pungent, the kind of smell that gets stuck inside your nostrils and gives you a nasty headache even when you smell it from far away. I have tried using it a few times thinking that maybe somehow it would develop into something like georgeous Paris but no, it just stays the same forever.
If anyone is willing to swap I’ll be more than happy. =(

Oh dear. i honestly took the lid off, squirted it in the air….then on a card, but i can’t even bring myself to have it on my skin. by no means is my opinion a reflection of the integrity of this scent. and it tells me so much about scents being part of our memories and experiences as much as the scent themselves! i cannot smell the roses in this…i have beautiful smelly sweet blooms in my garden and they have absolutely no resemblance to the roses in Paris.
I think you obviously have to be a lover of Paris to like this. having never tried Paris (silly me), i assumed it would be a light, fresh, floral rose with the crisp beautiful accents (like you are all describing!)…but to me, i am transported to 1980’s hot summer days…it smells like a flustered Avon lady coming in the house to cool off and show her wares, mixed with an end of day whiff that came from some of my P.E. teachers at school.
(perhaps it is because my mum at the same time was wearing parfum, Madame Rochas and Chanel No.5…she smelt of “perfume”…not what smells to me like crushed, brown (fake) petals and body spray. i know this is a light eau de toilette…i am trying to figure out why i can’t even try to wear this.)
so sorry. the smell to me is utterly repellent and old fashioned in a bad way. summer smell…yes, but 1980’s sports days in the changing rooms…
i was so excited to receive this after all the positive reviews. again, this is my personal experience. i am sure i am a one off.
if anyone would like to swap, let me know…i have a brand new FB.

It’s a light and fresh scent opening with fresh rose an musk. The opening have a heavy silage but nevertheless it’s not a screaming flagrance, it settles quickly in a subtle scent staying soft on the background. It’s pleasant and good for all occasions, safe flagrance that would not offend anybody. Suitable for young audience or for summer weather when you want something fresh and when sweet heavy scents are not suitable for hot days because they become cloying.
I see the resemblance with encre noir pour Elle from Lalique especially in the opening. But rose is more heavy there and the scent is more screaming and harsh. Here the flagrance is more subtle light, fress, soft and maybe a little bit more sweet in the dry down. But in both it’s all about the real natural rose scent smelling crushed petals.

The Paris springtime flankers are always so delightful, sophisticated, and feminine. I look forward to sniffing them every year and purchase one once in a while. Like the others, this one is all about the rose and it is just gorgeous. The rose is the same one found in the mother of them all, Paris. It’s a big rose, but it won’t bowl you over. Instead of the violet, it features neroli and some other white floral elements that I don’t necessarily detect. There is no powder here. Definitely well blended. Paris 2014 is one of the few fragrances that I just cannot get enough of…Because of the lighter composition, I spray liberally and use it more like a cologne or body splash. It projects fairly well for about 3-4 hours, but then I have to have another shot. That’s not a problem, since it comes in a giant 4.2oz bottle and there’s a new version every year. They’re all slightly different and well-worth sampling!

This is fresh rose scent all the way. Smells just like rose bouquet. However, since i think fresh roses smell rather medicinal, its not my cup of tea. If you like fresh rose scent, however, it can’t be beat.I can barely detect other notes, rose overpowers all pretty much

Summer roses. Nothing else to say really, smells like a summer rose Bush, very pretty. Very soft and light.

Bought this over the weekend. It’s a bit more green-smelling than the 2013 edition, which piqued my interest. I’ve worn it for 8 hours at work today and the staying power is long–I’m still catching whiffs of it–though it does stay very close to the body.

I love Paris. Paris Premieres Roses series mimics the version of 1983 in many ways, when I tested som of them,I find big similarities. The notes obviously include deferent ingredients every version, som new added, som removed, but the end result is always Devine. This one lacking the iris in the original one,it may be less powdery so. I’m going to find exactly how this lovely smells soon.
