Paratus is lovely. I got a sample from Aedes. The opening is a lovely rush of citrus. Drying down, the cedar and juniper open up. It brings back memories of the coasts and scrubby hills of the Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France. If you know what the vintage Eau de Rochas pour Homme smells like, then you have a very good idea of what this smells like. The newest formulation of Eau de Rochas has lost much of its sharpness and has been dumbed down to smell more like a generic, manly citrus (ça m’étonne pas). Paratus may go on my to-buy list because of the memories it evokes and because it’s an affordable delight. Solid. 7/10
