Launched in 2015, Oudh was created in limited edition to be part of a special line within Amberfig called Preciosidades (Treasures), made up of 3 fragrances: Cuir Fétiche, Iris d’Or and Oudh. At the time of its release, the Amberfig perfumer had given me a cool interview, telling me about his latest plans.
As happened in Iris d’Or, the intention here was also to reveal the many facets of an ingredient. In this case, the famous note of Agarwood, which became known worldwide as Oud and was extensively explored in the perfumery.
In its composition were used rare notes such as oud Soofi, Indian Darbar essential oil (full of nuances of sandalwood and spices), dense notes of Amyris wood (from the Amyris Balsamífera tree, cultivated in Haiti and with a similar aroma of sandalwood), opoponax (also known as sweet myrrh), amber, hina (also called Shamama, which is quite popular and exotic in India and has floral and musky nuances, with a spicy background of saffron and cardamom), wood from Siam (usually obtained from the hinoki), frankincense, priprioca, white oud and green nard (mossy-smelling).
After all that has been said, it is to be expected that the fragrance of Oudh is dense and woody. Normally, oud has three nuances: woody, medicinal and/or of chocolate. Here, without doubt, the woody nuance reigns absolutely.
Unlike Iris d’Or, the fragrance of Oudh has a living output, but it does not keep projecting in a scandalous way. It loses strength and stays closer to the skin, but remains exuding. I can affirm that it is a scent in the same molds of Oriental perfumes that I had contact, mainly, after knowing the attares sold in a store in São Paulo. Once again, a positive point for Amberfig and its perfumer, who escapes from the usual and brings to the Brazilian public the different style of the Indie universe.
But Oudh is not completely unisex, in my opinion. It has a much more masculine development, which may scare women a little. I’d rather say it’s a masculine scent that can be shared.
For lovers of perfumes with notes of oud or strong woody nuances, Oudh is a find.

An authentic Oud!
A scent that is almost exclusively on oud and its facets rather than another in this vast world of combos oud + roses, since its opening i feel this resinous wood, almost animalic, an explosion in the face.
Throughout the drying feel slight spices and smoky nuances, believe it may be the olibanum and priprioca, the opoponax also appears with the famous touch sweet resinous fruity and a slight kind of short circuit aroma but all are supporting the oud, which predominates at all.
There is some leather facet on this drying, creating a style Cuir Oud indeed the Oud himself has this aspect, are amazing all these facets and so the name could be Cuir Oud, a fine example.
