This is one of the masterpieces of the fragrance world. Worth every single penny. An unprecedented level of complexity, richness, and sophistication. I have been invested in this hobby for 3 or 4 years now and have smelled likely over 1,000 fragrances, and I can confidently say that I do not think that I have ever smelled anything more masterful and more worthy of my hard earned money. If you haven’t smelled this, you’re doing yourself a huge disservice.

This scent has an organic and natural smell to me. It opens with an earthy, sweet, woodsy dryness, followed by a biting cinnamon that elevates it without being overbearing.
It then transforms into a woodsiness of freshly cut pine that softens into a dense and broad vanilla.
It is beautiful and complex. Rounded and blended well.

I never had any appealing sweet safe perfum in my small loved collection, and my sample of this ‘masterpiece’ has been making up for it for a year now. I dont go around calling every artwork a masterpiece but boy this is one. performance could be the only problem here because it may be too potent even with 1 spray, go figure, not even taste is an issue here, actually its exactly opposite of what I’d love and have, only on paper. I even know its very much feminine and I wouldn’t like that, but again only on paper. its much much more powdery dark rose than oud, really smooth and softly blended while being so potent thats why its a masterpiece its like putting a picture on billboard and still every pixel come out perfectly, the best imaginable dark rose sweetened by vanilla, its so loud but still cant figure the exact words to describe it. this is too romantic to be casual or formal, its simply sex. makes me think of passionate sex in a red room (not “the” redroom) you would expect to have sth like that in a couple of hours when you wear this. for men: occasions? sth you’d wear on few memorable nights throughout your life, perfect wedding scent. bottle worthy? no, firstly its too potent each ml will give you 10 potent wearings and I dont see anyone wearing this every other day, buy a sample and make a handful of your cold nights unforgettable. for women if youre confident enough this could easily be a sexy signature scent. in one word, harmony.

This is the first time that I wore one perfume for almost a week. MFK Oud Satin Mood Extrait is one of the most incredible fragrances in my collection, leaving a trail of this amazing scent wherever I went, causing people to go nuts! The sillage is the most powerful I’ve ever experienced and longevity is a monster as well. To me, it’s different than the EDP. and much better in every sense. The beautiful sweetness of the damask rose along with the Turkish rose oil are more of the candy-like type than a real rose. It’s like having liquified candied rose petals dipped in vanilla sugar and topped with a little caramel. It’s super sweet, yes—but the Oud and cinnamon give such depth and uniqueness to the composition that nothing else stands a chance. The scent is slightly powdery and creamy, with that balsamic feeling to it. It’s simply stunning!

If you love the Oud satin mood Eau De Parfum, you will love this more. You know guys, Francis Kurkdjian did an amazing job about making this fragrance. I have the nerve to blind buy both of these 2 bottles (Oud satin mood and extrait) and yea baby, let me smell my wrist again, oh wow. This is really the BEAST guys when it comes to performance. We spent that much, well worth every penny.
Thank you again to Maison Francis Kurkdjian and the staff for the lovely packaging. When I received them, I felt like I am a royalty. :)))

I prefer Oud Satin Mood EDP to the extract, and to me they feel very different. The extract is definitely more challenging for me to wear, and as other have said, more masculine. In part because the vanilla note is not as strong here.
Since I have the 11ml size of each, I’m going to try wearing one spray of each when the weather turns colder. They both are beast mode in terms of performance, so it should be an interesting experiment.

Francis Kurkdjian has created an exquisite statement piece. Bravo!
Rich, opulent rose with an undeniably seductive sweetness. The slightly medicinal Oud eventually gives way to a stunning powdery base of Rose, Amber, and Vanilla. This is a deeply enveloping, seductive, and inviting scent that literally becomes a part of your being for 12+ hours. Mark my words, your presence will be felt long after you leave the room. Sillage is exceptional.
Borderline gourmand in its sweetness and simultaneously as dry as the Sahara desert. A rose growing in the arid desert. You can almost smell the scathing hot, dry sand.
A rich, sophisticated, formal scent that demands a grand occasion. While some could pull it off casually, go EASY on the trigger and reserve it for the cooler months. No more than one spray is needed.
Destined to become one of your most complimented fragrances.

MFK Extrait da parfum is a great scent that last 8-12 hours! I have received many compliments. It’s one that you wear during the fall and winter.
    I highly recommend it.

    This stuff is sooooo gooooood!!!
Oud has been a big part of my life, so I know good from bad oud. I’m telling you, this is a great oud. It’s smoky and not at all animalic. The dry down is all about that sexy sexy oud.
The rose is very sweet but not jammy. The vanilla gives it the sweetness that it needs without smelling like candy. It projects enough to fill a room!
If you spry this, you have made a commitment to cherish and love each other till death do us part. It lasts and projects better then any fragrance I have ever owned.
Update: with the exception of xerjoff’s Al Khat

Another rich, classy, masterpiece from Monsieur Francis. This is a totally different fragrance to the EDP version and the notes are slightly different. This is the best of the “OUD/Mood” range by far and my favourite from the MFK Oud line. It leans very slightly towards the feminine side which, perhaps because of the additional rose, but it still works well on a man, it could be classed as “metrosexual”. Maybe it can be layered with a natural oud oil to make it more masculine.
You won’t be able to stop smelling yourself. It oozes quality and luxury that is very hard to find, it feels like you died and went to Heaven. It’s really for special occasions more than casual wear.
The cheapest is to buy it directly from MFK, they give free samples with every order.
Definitely full-bottle worthy worth every penny and an easy blind buy.
Longevity is a phenomenal near 24hrs!

What a masterpiece! This is a hell of a perfume. This is the best rose perfume out there, so creamy, so amazing, TONS of compliments everytime I wear it. Really beast mode perfume, I keep smelling it on me even 24 hours after its application. So expensive but it worth every penny.

Powdery, dense, rosy turkish delight with a bit of dark wood behind it, mostly giving a resinous grounding for the sweetness going on throughout the scent. On me, this goes gourmand-level sweet, with what smells like a significant dose of ethyl maltol supplementing the vanilla-amber accord. I wish i got more cinnamon to balance the sweetness. Ultimately, its too much to handle and skews fairly feminine. While it’s not for me, I can imagine this would be a compliment getter, as it is a fairly lovable oud but not pedestrian in the least. Sillage is borderline nuclear, so try this out if your skin eats fragrance.

    Price: 0/10 too expensive !! I had a decant

Thanks to a happy swap, I own a full bottle of the extrait, and believe its scent is superior to that of the EDP (in this I am in the minority), but I simply cannot believe the votes indicating that this has exceptional longevity. In all my conversations with others about this concentration, my experience that the extrait has unusually SHORT longevity has been confirmed. It is gone in three hours, easily bested by some of the all-natural perfumes in my wardrobe. It is also a difficult scent in that the first hour is extremely strong, followed by a quick fade, making it a poor match for many occasions. Again, although I actually think the smell itself is better than that of the EDP, if I could go back I would have rather purchased the EDP, just for the stability.

Rose, rose, and more rose. That’s all I get throughout the whole scent’s life and that’s ok. I seem to only wear this one particularly to church. It works on me and it smells great.
Edit: I layered this today with Tom Ford’s Tobacco Oud Intense and it was magic. Still is. Still projecting. Satin tends to be a bit linear so I’ve found TF gives it something around the edges.

    Phenomenal fragrance. Enough said.
The difference between the Extrait and the EDP is not significantly noticeable. This one has cinnamon which makes it a little more special, and it performs slightly better. But it doesn’t justify the huge price hike; I imagine only real fragrance enthusiast would cough up the extra 100$+ to buy the Extrait over the EDP.
    Top Quality Fragrance.
    Edit:
The Extrait is much better and more masculine.

To my nose this version of Out Satin Mood seems to be an entirely new fragrance. As far as I remember the original Eau de Parfum concentration, it was on the sweet side, and while I consider it to be a beautiful and classy scent, it was also an exhausting one, with not much development. It was also quite feminine to me. The new Extrait concentration is something different. It starts with a strong vegetal/botanical accord, which is quite peculiar, and then transitions to the sweet aspect of the original. However, the sweetness here has been tamed and stays in the background. I do not consider either of the Satin Mood Ouds to be a favourite of mine, though I have to admit that I find the Extrait’s oddity interesting.

I ordered a few samples from MFK and this was one of them. It is sweet. I mean super-hyper sweet. What I get the most for the first 2-3 hours is violet and rose. Like some sort of violet candies. It projects like there’s no tomorrow, but it manages to maintain a certain level of airiness. When you take a closer sniff, it smells more dense and you get to feel the oud. Vanilla and oud become more pronounced later in the drydown, but the unforgiving candied floral sweetness never really goes away.
Objectively speaking, it smells good, but I personally can’t handle it. It’s unisex, I suppose, but based on how it manifests itself on my female skin, I have a hard time picturing a man wearing it. I prefer more traditionally masculine scents on men, so I might be a bit biased here. Anyway, the high quality is evident and the performance is almost monstrous, but I’m gonna have to pass any further interactions with this one.

Finally, Fragrantica gets this one added! I don’t understand how they get stuff that’s not even released yet added to the database, but this isn’t added until months after it’s released. MFK is a pretty popular and well known house too!
Anyway, this is an unbelievable masterpiece. Rose, vanilla, and oud are the main players, just like the original. However, the depth and dimension that is added to this over the original is incredible. Out of my 13 MFK bottles, this is my favorite. Gorgeous juice.
