Oud & Rose Les Notes De Lanvin is a soapy even powdery rose scent with woodsy base. The oud is as other reviewers have described, quite subtle. This is not a big agar wood scent but it has an aromatic woodsy smell, and has a dash of lemongrass. This has a citrusy opening but it’s quite subdued, allowing the rose and wood to perform a fragrant duet.
I’m normally into heavier ouds and Oriental fragrances but this isn’t bad. Smells good after your shower and you want to smell clean and a bit spicy or aromatic without overdoing it. This is a spicy green fragrance for me. It’s not big on green notes but it’s like a bar of soap, masculine or rather, unisex. The nutmeg spice and the wood remind me of notes I’ve smelled in men’s colognes. I think guys can pull this off. Oud & Rose despite the rose, is not a ‘female’ scent. Neither is it a classic masculine scent. This soapy woodsy scent is clean and easily worn by both men and women.
Correct me if I’m wrong but this line “Notes de Lanvin” has been discontinued or is hard to find at a Lanvin boutique. I ordered this online and it came with a matching body lotion. This comes in an Eau de Toilette spray bottle and the color is a mahogany dark amber color. The bottle is about 1.7 ounces and not very big. You can easily put it in your carry-all or handbag if you’re a girl and spray it on any time you want. The sillage and longevity is disappointing and doesn’t last very long. The thing to do is just to put it on after your shower. I keep this baby at home in my bathroom.
There could be missing notes that the nose is not listing because there is more going on. Smells of orange, lemongrass, wood, a small rose, and maybe a bit of amber nutmeg and vanilla. Clean and powdery, a perfect scented bath smell, or skin freshener. Great for any occasion any time of year.

Well I was surprised by two things
This fragrance has only a few reviews and I wish it had more reviews and opinions which I like to read in order to better assess a fragrance especially if I buy blindly. This fragrance has only two notes which is never what it actually turns out to be. This is my first time experiencing agar wood or oud which is an Oriental Arabic Middle Eastern perfumery note. I was bracing myself for something very woodsy but it’s really quite subtle. The oud in this scent is like cloves, or very dry wood, almost like the scent of putting your nose to censer for incense when the incense is gone. It’s definitely Oriental but it’s not powerful nor complex. It has a sweetness which sets it apart from other ouds. From now on I will have to try out other ouds so that I can get to know it better.
The opening is of citrus, not too fresh but sweet and fruity, with perhaps a very small note of orange blossom. This is not at all super citrusy but it has a fresh opening of medicinal style citrus for a passing moment. Then it turns floral with rose. The rose is soapy, powdery, and delicate. However an interesting thing occurs and the rose eventually turns darker and smokier. It’s rose and incense or rose and cloves followed by agar wood. The rose becomes unisex or masculine similar to dark roses in fragrances like Chanel’s Egoiste or Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle. It is a beautiful Taif rose from Persia, not too heavy but detectable and enjoyable.
The dry down is where the agar wood comes through. A very light woodsy scent with a burnt quality, again, as I described, similar to incense or censers. Oud & Rose makes for a fine fall fragrance. It is wearable in the autumn months and the winter. It’s warm and cozy, very dreamy, and unisex. It has no fruity floral sweet femininity nor leathery musky aromatic masculine airs. It’s not pretentious nor gender biased. It’s simple, very modest soap for both men and women. The agar wood is rather quiet but it is a good intro to the oud note that I am starting to love. This matches up with scarves and coats trench coats and furs. Very classy and very Lanvin.
    Thank You Fragrantica

I haven’t worn it for a long time but back then I remember thinking that it had a kind of licorice quality overall, though definitely not actual licorice, more an impression. Otherwise, it’s a smooth “oud scent” that is definitely among the better ones I’ve tried. But how many does one “need?”

Soft wood scent with an even softer rose. This is my first oud based scent and I love it although according to the previous reviewers this is not a traditional oud. If they mean it’s very soft and soapy it sure is. It releases a sweet aroma. There is rose but it’s more like a tiny rose scented peony in perfume note. It’s really very hard to describe it but it’s like a phantom rose. It’s a woodsy scent that reminds me of an antique doll house which is made of wood. This is like a rosewood but it’s delicate and subtle. I am wearing this today and loving it. It’s light and makes me feel good. Perfect for spring but it’s an any season any place any time kind of scent.

Fragrance Review For Oud & Rose Lanvin
*Les Notes De Lanvin II Oud & Rose Fragrance & Body Lotion
I have the fragrance gift set with both the perfume and matching body lotion. The body lotion has the same scent as the perfume but there is an additional sunflower seed smell which is very strange but very beautiful. This is the softest oud I’ve ever encountered in my life. I have a lot of Arabic attars and oils and incense based fragrances which contain tons of oud and I’ve smelled real agar wood. This is nothing like it. This is more like a soap made of oud if there is such a thing. The fragrance is delicate an subtle. It does smell of rose but it’s a soapy white rose. It’s sweet and soft, very feminine. There is also something citric in it like an authentic bergamot and lemon. It’s not very heavy but it’s clearly there as well. The fragrance is not following the top middle and base note formula and it’s linear in nature. It’s notes should probably be listed as: Citrus Notes Bergamot Lemon Rose Agar Wood. There is a freshness here that is not typical of ouds. It smells really good and sweet but it has a very short life. It wears like a body mist and doesn’t last longer than 2 hours. It’s probably easy to wear on fresh young skin high school teenagers who want to wear something different and to get an intro into ouds. Beautiful in it’s simplicity. And it does smell of a Lanvin perfume. It’s like a woodsier Arpege that has been very toned down as an oud and becomes more like oud and rose soap. I find it very enjoyable as an after bath or after shower pick me up scent.
