smells like a realistic smell of an ocean with salt, ocean minerals, and watery rocks. More masculine than femine. Its weirdly good, That can make you say I never smell this type of marine scent before, a water scent with vitamins in it haha

The initial notes smelled very much like a typical men’s aquatic. I was disappointed at how normal it smelled (especially for the price tag). All of a sudden, it was all smoke and flowers. Now it becomes interesting! It felt just right for the crisp fall day I was experiencing. My mind kept drifting to a Chanel Exclusif I tested long ago that was quite smoky (don’t remember the name). My favorite part is the base notes. Just a hint of the smoke remained to accompany the wood and marine notes. A very lovely fragrance that I will probably never own due to the price.
Notes: I got my sample at Nordstrom. The sillage was moderate throughout. Longevity was super impressive at 12+ hours.

    @17seyed I agree… I initially
Loved this one, but after my third wearing, it made me nauseous. Although linear, iit smells very complex. It’s also very masculine and appealing. However, there is something in here which makes my stomache churn.

MASTERPIECE! Ive found my signature scent Ive never smell anything like it it transports the wearer to the beach sea spray & seaweed complete love the marine notes with OUD & AMBERGRIS HEELEY SEL MARIN is my 2nd favorite Im sure it helps that I live a mile from the ocean JIM from MIAMI BEACH

One of the most monotone fragrances I’ve ever smelled. You might like it after a couple of wearings because the scent is very different to what you may expect from an aquatic fragrance with the seaweed and agarwood combination. But that will quickly run down once you find out how boring the scent evolution is.
I actually really digged the seaweed and was considering buying a full bottle on my third wearing. But once I was nearing the end of my 4 ml decant, Oud Minerale made me want to vomit. See if you can get through one or even two decants before you decide on splashing the cash.

This is a scent that sets a new standard for marine scents in 2018. Its different and more unique because, it doesn’t use citruses or flowers like most aquatics. This is like the refined very masculine new way of doing water scents. The performance is good as far as longevity, sillage is mid-range. Is it worth buying, yeh if you have the $230 or so to shell out. If not buy Bvlgari Aqva its cheaper, but done very well.

Like a more expensive but less impressive Body Kouros.
Less depth than the shallowest tidal pool, and evaporates even faster.
Tom Ford’s line of expensive skin scents really brings out the bitch in me!

Spent many hours at my local stockist for TF scents, tried almost half their line up and settled on this as my first ever TF. It’s gorgeously subtle but still noticeable and present. Sillage isn’t massive but longevity is super decent. I often struggle with summery scents as a lot of them have citrus notes that don’t sit well on me. It’s definitely a frag for warmer weather/daytime. The biggest selling point for me is its a totally unique scent, rugged yet sophisticated, it’s got a driftwood, cold stone, oceanic sort of vibe like a cold beach in Europe which is very different from the rest of my lineup and the scents my friends wear. I absolutely love it, makes my soul happy

Its Very Masculine for sure. I don’t see a woman pulling this one off, not happening. It a nice fresh take on the marine genre. Its different as a scent, but I wouldnt’ say too unique. It projects and has sillage. Its smells like sea rocks with a fresh breeze off the water, that smell you get when your on the peer, in a good way though. This is versatile. I think the original Bvlgari aqva is better though

I have found my signature scent. !!! I would have never tried this, but a fellow frag friend on here, butterbean, has suggested some gorgeous beachy amazing stand-out scents and this in in her top five so I snagged a sample yesterday.
When I tried it this afternoon, it brought me back to an old high school favorite- Aramis New West!
OM is more masculine and complex, but sometimes the wafts in the air I get have that same sweet but different scent NW had.
OM is the exotic, alluring, clean but also salty lived-in skin-but better, sexy signature worthy scent I have been looking for.
I have tested SO many scents, searching…
This will be perfect for something special and unique, but that I can wear everyday in Hawaii’s warmth.
It’s not the roll your eyes back floral type (I also love) stunner- but I can’t stop sniffing my wrist and am LOVING the way this dries, and LIVES, on the skin. BLOWN AWAY. So good. So happy!

unique, intriguing, origanol, not many fragrances can say that and even fewer can who are masterpieces
This is distinctive, understated, elegant and simply well done.
It smells of high quality concrete, mineral spirits, carbonated water, and glass in a complex and harmonious blend.
I get 5 or so hours longevity and fair to poor projection, but when you are refined, seductive and mysterious you don’t need to be loud.
    I hope to afford soon

I am totally addicted to this scent a totally original scent unlike any other I love a good AQUATIC & this one delivers it smells like the beach seaweed & all clean & fresh its great for warm weather doesnt seem to last all day but I’ve had people stop me on the street to compliment this scent worth the price but FRAGRANCE UNLIMITED makes a great version for 10% of the cost!

I feel that this is a trend setter, taking things in another direction. It therefor may seem a bit strange at first, but after my third wearing I love it. It give a very pleasant cloud around you. The ingrediences seem to be good quality. Its quite subtle and transperent, which I like. Very natural, oceanic feeling.

Wife loves this one, I dropped my sample in the closet spilled everywhere, the wife came to me a couple of days later and said the closet smells so good, then she said the toilet paper smells really good too! Now my families ass smells like oud minerale lol. Its really really good, i get a light woody fresh scent..

  15. :

    3 out of 5

I have Oud Wood and I like it very much for colder weather but Oud Mineral is a very different beast: lots of sea salt backed up with heat from pink pepper that is heavy yet fresh enough for warmer days…. I can smell woody notes right at the back of the room yet any Oud is overshadowed by the power of sea salt and pink pepper.
Good longevity and still present the next day.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

Initial wearing: salty, arid, a little woodiess thrown into the mix, but definitely a departure from the TF ouds in the private line…
…too bad this affects performance as well, which is influenced by body chem and weather, too, but I need to reapply all day long. No, it is not anosmia. I sampled Costa Azurra the same moment on the back of my hand, 2 heavy sprays lasted a good 5-6 hours.
The price point (EUR 150-160) cries for better performance, this is probably the only reason why I probably will not buy it again. Apart from this issue, the juice is magical, and could have been in my all time top 5 favorites. Give it a go, maybe you get luckier than me, but sample it first to see how it works for you.

This one is just really, really lovely. Salty fresh sea air and a bizarre oud. Cedarwood to my nose as well. Transports you to a made up location … just strangely beautiful. Never thought the two would mix well but here we are.

  18. :

    5 out of 5

Sometimes one stumbles across bizarre fragrances, but most of the times they turn out to be unwearable.
Oud minerale is like nothing I have ever experienced and it works.
I went to a shop which has a Tom Ford corner and talked for a couple of hours (!) with the young lady who was there teaching the shop assistants how to sell, explain, describe the fragrances.
Of course she didn’t succeed-the conversation between the Tom Ford expert and me was much too interesting for being interrupted: champaca flowers and the Joy perfume tree , patchouli and incense, the garlands used in the Philippines to adorn statues of saints, the difference between the smell of the fresh tobacco leaves and the dried ones used for cigars, the Amalfi coast and Portofino e le cinque terre, neroli and bergamot……….
I tried a couple of sprays of oud minerale even though I was already thinking of buying vert des bois.
It instantly struck me as very unusual. I don’t like much alligator fragrances such as Kenzo pour homme, so at first I hated it.
But I decided to give it some time and see what would happen.
Seaweed turned into salty notes and I felt relieved.
But then-after a few hours (and now it’s been 8 hours since I sprayed it and it’s still going!) one of the most beautiful scents kept and still keeps catching my attention-and it is oud minerale!
The drydown of oud minerale- even though it takes a while-is absolutely amazing.

  19. :

    4 out of 5

Wow – a Tom Ford scent with poor longevity and projection (at least on me). That’s unusual.
The name had me hoping for a good agarwood scent, but this is really a somewhat wifty marine scent. It’s a bit like smelling a piece of driftwood that washed up on the beach. It’s not bad, but it’s not really successful, either. It’s too subtle to have any “wow factor,” and it’s not different enough from the usual collection of marine scents to convince me.
Oceanics aren’t a big deal for me, and I really haven’t found one I like better than Outremer Oceane.
    I pass.

  20. :

    4 out of 5

This unusual scent conveys gentle, cool breezes from the Mediterranean Sea, with a tinge of salty freshness, and an oud that is not overpowering or medicinal. It does not have the freshness of citrus notes, at least not to my nose, but rather freshness conveyed by its seaweed note, which is in itself unusual compared to many other scents even on the niche market.
This is not a scent for glamourous dinners or dates I would think. It has a casual air to it, for the after-dinner walks (preferably by the beach of course, to realize the fantasy that is the perfume), with a particular affinity for the heat of summer, which would amplify the moderate sillage of this scent.
Grab a bottle, and get out there in Nature. Otherwise, you bring a piece of the sea home in this bottle, which works just as well.

Blind bought this because of reviews of it smelling like an electrical fire or the smell of a machine shop.
It’s definatly got a hint of that but also brings to mind black licorice, which i generaly hate but somehow im smitten by this.
    This is an AMAZING scent!

  22. :

    4 out of 5

I blind bought this and im not sure how I feel about it yet. Its definitely got a salty ocean thing going on with a touch of oud. Sillage and longevity are good. I just have a hard time finding an occasion to wear this. Not great but definitely not bad at all. 6/10

I smelled it on someone else, my boss his wife, on her it had great silleage because everyone in a proximity of more than a couples of meters could smell it – it was love on first smell not for the wife of the boss but for the smell like a sea of heaven – l could never have thought that oud combined with a spicy sea salty seaweed would make a such great blend – in general I am not a great fan of Ouds, in my native language Dutch oud means old and that’s what I associate many ouds with, a perfume for old(er) people – only a couple of well blended oud fragrances stand out like f.e. Bond 9 New York Oud, TF Oud Wood which is very similar to Versace Oud Noir, Versace Oud Oriental and Xerjoff Alexandria II and now there are six oud smells I like, I am starting to feel quite Oud or maybe I just am

This is one of those fragrances that can transport you to a magical place!
Tom Ford has a fantastic way of speaking to my dark side and this one is no exception.
Long lasting dark aquatic. The rise of the sea notes after the oud has calmed down is what
I truly long for. The seaweed, aquatic notes, and oud are blended so well. The best way to describe this masculine scent is to say it’s the niche version of Acqua Di Gio Profumo!!!

  25. :

Tom Ford has to be one of the most polarizing fragrance houses on this site. But I am a fan. I own several from TF, and if money were not an issue there are at least 5 more I would love to buy including Oud Minerale.
OM smells like the ocean. It’s true that the initial phase includes a lot of pink pepper, but that quickly dissipates to a salty-spicy marine scent, and it stays there till the end. The oud is light like others have noted, but I think it’s the ingredient that holds it all together.
Like other TF fragrances, this has good longevity. I get 6 plus hours, with light projection. I can’t wait to test this in warmer weather.
Edit: My husband came into the room I am in (about an hour after I sprayed OM on) and commented that he liked it. He doesn’t always notice so I think this fragrance is elevated to a 10.

Appears to be a mix of salt and cold metal. While certainly innovative and unique, it’s not really appealing.
I would take a look at Nishane Bosphorus and The Different Company Sel de Vetvier instead.

Oud Minérale opens with a sea spray note that is iodised and mineral, like sand and pebbles by the sea, which strongly reminds me of the similar accords in L’Artisan Parfumeur Un Air de Bretagne and Hermès Eau des Merveilles Bleue, both released in the same as Oud Minérale.
However, unlike the other two that breath air into this sea spray accord with sparkling citrus, Oud Minérale is sturdy and relentless, without much else to support the iodised accord. As I’m not that into marine accords in general, this head-on crash with the sea spray opening does not appeal to me personally.
As this mineral and marine accord mellows with time, other nuances begin to make themselves known starting from the 2nd hour, with predominantly the aromatic pepperiness and fresh aquatic cucumber ebbing and waning from time to time. All of these rests on an abstract and very lightweight resinous woody base, and I don’t recognise any oud in natural or popular synthetic reconstructions.
Oud Minérale then just keeps getting more nebulous and becomes a slightly salty, abstract skin scent. The longevity is at least 7 hours, while the sillage is mostly close to skin.
As a new generation of aquatic/marine fragrances, the mineral sand/pebbles effect itself is quite refreshing to the genre. However, after smelling three marine fragrances with this very similar accord in a row, while Oud Minérale is certainly adequate, I did not find it significantly more interesting than the other two. A rich oud could have been a very interesting, if not challenging, companion to the marine accord, But instead, Oud Minérale plays safe and lays a vague, soft woody base.
If you’re looking for a slightly masculine, iodised marine fragrance and has less limit on budget, you may want to try Oud Minérale. However, I would not recommend it as an oud fragrance, because it plays only a minor role at best in this fragrance.

Tested this today on card only. Starts off with a reasonably pleasant and unique combination of seaweed and salty air. The dry down is absolutely monstrous though. This reminds me of two things:
    1. A Body Shop product from the 90s which I can’t quite recall but the scent is triggering memories.
    2. Supermarket own brand shower gel that’s blue in colour and costs £1.
Even the occasional whiff from the card in my pocket was enough to bring on a headache. Horrid.
On the plus side, Tuscan Leather was decent!

Too balsamic and salty.. that’s all I have to say

  30. :

    5 out of 5

Oud Minerale is Tom Ford’s spin on a marine aquatic with serious legs. Salt, seaweed, pepper and of course oud are the main players here. It’s a more aquatic version of Creed’s Viking with no mint. Perfect for me since Viking is my signature scent but I understand why others would not like this genre, especially when the private line/niche houses release them but I don’t care. This stuff performs amazingly well for an aquatic, I get close to 24 hours of longevity and huge sillage.

A bit lost for words here… I am a Tom Ford fan first and foremost – I enjoy most if not the majority of his fragrances and own over 20 of them. This is off. It feels like it doesn’t fit in the line. It smells like a Holister store or an Abercrombie store – juvenile and overplayed. I really don’t care for this one – nor do I smell the intended ‘story line’ on this one. I am sorry as I wish this could have been better.

There are endless hoards of fragrances that emulate the vibe of the hot beaches of the Mediterranean, Tropics, Southern California, but not a whole lot that evoke images of the cold, rugged, dramatic northern coastlines that are just as beautiful, if not even more. This fragrance reminds me of the Northern Californian coastline of Sonoma and Mendocino so vividly, in all it’s dark, nostalgic and melancholic beauty. Oud Minérale creates images of salty sea water, wet emerald seaweed, smoldering beach bonfires, the dusty mineral smell of sand, driftwood drying in the sun, abandoned cars rusting in the surf and oceanic decay. To me this fragrance has a dark sadness to it that I find absolutely beautiful. Sure, you could justifiably compare this to fragrances like Bvlgari Aqva, but if you can’t also see the stark differences between the two, then I don’t know what to tell you.

  33. :

I have only tested this by sniffing the atomiser, but I found this fragrance deeply unpleasant.
Like iron filings, cold welding seams, cold stale seaweed and burnt wood. Not forgiving at all. I know some men have an aversion to smelling like flowers, but this is really perfumery devoid of soul or poetry.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

    Sorry Tom, another failure.
A taste of salt, a hint of seaweed, some flinty gunpowder type note.
    Rather boring wouldn’t you say?
Honestly, there is nothing here that is new or even remotely exciting. I tested this in store, and cannot even remember what it smells like as I write this review.
This should tell you everything you need to know really.

Machine oil and ozonic electric motor smell. Somehow it works. Very masculine, perhaps good for a mechanic or machinist.

I bought this perfume two days ago just a day before my birthday, and let me tell you it is amazing in all aspects. Last super long, smells amazing and not too strong for people around me. It lasts a good 5 – 6 hours duration, and for the very first time i can still smell this perfume on me after few hours!
Everybody was asking me about what I am wearing and my gf loves it soooo much that my neck attests to that 😉
I highly recommend it eventhough its somewhat pricy!

  37. :

A top notch release by Ford. It’s such an interesting composition of contradicting notes. I never liked oud but in this one that oud is so airy, silky, classy with a slight metalic vibe, I love it. My favorite fragrances could all be associated with the color gray and this one is no exception. Understatement but this one is about the rich, deep and cool kind of understatement. Love it.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

Salty, briny, oceanic….definitely get the seaweed notes right on the top. Very oceanic, but not a bright oceanic, this is a deep pacific rocky oceanic. The water is frigid, rough, large strands of sea kelp move with the waves, the air is cold and gray, there’s battered driftwood crashed up on the shore. That’s where this fragrance takes me to, it’s very well done and an interesting take in TF’s Oud line, but it’s not really something I can see myself wearing. The Oud note is very subtle and to me, almost undetectable. It’s there though but trailing in the distance. I can say this, if you’re looking for a totally different take on an oceanic fragrance than this might fit the bill for you. It’s very different from the bright and sunny marine fragrances we have all been accustomed too. This is very different and really quite interesting. The seaweed note here is very reminiscent of TF Costa Azzura without the brightness. If Costa Azzura is a beautiful sunny Mediterranean ocean scape, Oud Minerale is a Pac NW cliffside with the waves crashing and giant kelp beds abound. Try if if you’re looking for a cold/metallic fragrance with an oceanic vibe

  39. :

    5 out of 5

Nothing to write home about with this one. I smelt is hoping to be aww’d in amazement with something that I had the intention of smelling like a burning fire with some ocean notes and some oud. Sort of, SORT OF like how I kind of envisioned Creed’s Viking to smell (needless to say I am not disappointed with that fragrance at all!) But Oud Minerale let me down deeply (pun intended). Still seems to be Noir De Noir, and Tobacco Oud reign superior to the rest of the newer Tom Ford Private Blend releases.
    5/10 (being generous here)

  40. :

I feel like a broken record with Tom Ford this year. Another lacklustre release. Firstly, it has only just been released in Australia – months after its official release. Why? Who knows. Secondly, there is too much pink pepper, it drowns out everything else. If I close my eyes and tell myself over and over that there are “sea notes” and “seaweed” then I sort of can smell them (but its more like when you go down to the harbour and some boats have spilled gasoline on the water) – but I’m really pushing to identify them. I just get pink pepper, some nondescript wood notes and a little styrax. It is much more masculine than I thought it would be and nowhere near as complex as I had hoped. At a much lower price point I’d probably be all over this and add it to my collection as a masculine woody/spice scent. However, at the ever sky rocketing price it currently is – no.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

This fragrance is beautiful! First, I never ever test fragrances on paper, always spray it on the skin. I am just a guy who likes smelling good and expensive. And Oud Minerale does the job. I smelled it just 2 seconds after spraying and the first blast put me off completely. 10 – 15 minutes after I walked out the store, I kept getting a whiff of it and it’s simply amazing. It’s smells fresh but not too fresh, I think that’s the Oud in it. This smells expensive guys! Fresh expensive scent, that’s it! Just like Sauvage, people criticized it when it came out and now they changed their tune.
Give it a try before you write it off based on other people’s opinion.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

This one seems to get a lot of flack for being lackluster and/or pointless. I don’t really agree with that however I think the quality pales in comparison to previous releases in the private blend collection. If it was executed better it may be a lot more compelling.
Im not a big fan of oud in general but I did love the sea/marine notes. very fresh and adds a sense of quality to the fragrance. The oud doesn’t make sense paired with the fresh sea notes. I’ve seen stranger pairings in fragrances but this once just isn’t executed all that well. Then again, like I said before, i’m not a big oud fan.
Definitely worth a try if you’re a Tom Ford fan but probably best not to get your hopes up.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Shocked that this scent is not getting other comparisons to Creed’s new ‘Viking’, because once on the skin for 30 mins or so, they are nearly the same fragrance! Long lasting 10-12 hours at least on the Tom Ford (TF).
Viking opens with sharper and more aggressive garden herb notes and cinnamon, whereas Oud Minerale features more leather and powder. Once developed (45 mins) they both are quite linear.
However, they are both ambrox. bombs spiced with herbs. Not pepper, not middle eastern spices, but fragrant type garden herbs. Very natural ambergris smell, likely sourced from South Carolina clary sage.
The TF is the more complex, slightly more modern and longer lasting fragrance. The Creed is very mature and doesn’t get tolerable until at least 45 minutes in.
There is no oud in this…cedar maybe, but I don’t smell any oud.

I’ve just come back from John Lewis, this scent is beautiful its been like 4hours and I’ve actually washed my hands and I can smell it lingering still.
Fresh smelling but classy, unique and very much a acquired scent, on first spray its strong and then settles down to this fresh sophisticated perfume.
A really beautiful scent hard to describe but very much has that quality and longevity, people will ask you “what you got on?”, it just surrounds you. The man at the Tom ford perfume counter sprayed two scents he said give it a few hours, if you love it buy it! if you just like it don’t bother!, because of the price.
I LOVE IT!!!!, it grows on you! Expensive but quality in perfume!

Immediately felt like I was at the beach, when you get smacked in the face with a wave you weren’t expecting, salt water sting in your mouth and nostrils. So evocative of swimming in the ocean for me, with some more traditional-smelling “aquatic notes,” and oud way, way in the background. I wouldn’t wear this, but it’s interesting and worth a sniff.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

I’m gonna go ahead and say it. This, to me, smells like a more refined version of Bvlgari Aqva Amara. It’s got the same salty seaweed type note and the same bitter, ozonic smell. Honestly they are strikingly similar.

If there was a button between like and dislike on Fragrantica, that’s what I would click. It’s not bad, but it’s not great. Definitely not worth the price, in my opinion.

I really like this one. I read the note breakdown and wasn’t interested. I smelled it on a test strip and didn’t care for it. I was given a sample the next time I visited the Tom Ford counter and didn’t touch it for a while. Last week, while down at the cape, I finally put this on and was pleasantly surprised. As one reviewer already stated, this smells somewhat similar to Jo Malone’s wood sage and sea salt, but a bit dirtier.
As another reviewer also stated, this has a strong oceanic (not aquatic) vibe to it. I spent quite a bit of time while at the cape walking along the seaweed-covered beaches and breathing in ocean air. Oud Minerale captures that experience pretty darn well. I’m not sure where the oud is, but I don’t really care.
Performance is surprisingly good for this type of fragrance. This one lasts pretty much all day on me and I am always aware that I’m wearing it, but it’s never overpowering. I don’t think that the projection is massive, but my wife has commented on it several times nearly 6 hours after applying and she was standing maybe 2-3 feet away.
One of my favorite warm weather fragrances right now.

Lovely and very naturalistic woody aquatic: fresh, cool, marine, salty, peppery and slightly earthy opening gradually clearing up revealing a base of salty sea notes, seaweed, rocks and smoky oud – a bit like driftwood on a breezy beach… Pleasant sillage and excellent staying power 🙂

    Yes yes yes!
I foolishly thought I’d get to try Fucking Fabulous but it’s a fashion week exclusive or something, so I didn’t. Oh well I wasn’t even aware of this one so let’s give it a try.
Oud Minerale is not to my usual tastes from the opening, I have to admit that. It hits you with a salty, aquatic, ozone blast from the outset but instead of the usual revulsion, I was quite taken with this vibe. I appreciate the effort to try to evoke the sea, I mean who doesn’t like the sea? but usually they go into horrid territory and Tom doesn’t allow that to happen, keeping the mood friendly and non-intrusive at all times.
The oud base is what holds it all together but the salty, seaweed and hint of pepper, keeps it natural and flowing…like the sea or water I suppose? So Having lavished Oud Minerale with praise I’d still say it’s not something I would wear or add to my wardrobe but I could be convinced down the line if I wear it some more. What can be said for sure is that this is among the finest sea scents I’ve ever tried, if not the finest. It’s clean and well executed like most TF products.
Update: Now that it’s been a few days, I was emptying the washing basket and oud minerale was clinging to the top I’d been wearing. It actually smells very clean and a great deal like ambroxan or even ambergris in it’s dried down and remnant state.

This pretty much reminds me of “Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme”…just a bit more refined and more natural, I don’t know if Im wrong but yeah that’s what I got from it.
Please correct me if my opinion is completely wrong!!!
    Peace Out 😉

I can really smell algue/marine like notes reminiscent of Calone. I think it’s a bit too salty for me
The oud notes are very subtle. It does indeed smell like a walk on a pier near the sea. But rather like something I wanna wash off after a day at the beach…

Way more of an “oud” fragrance than a “mineral” one. For me it’s just one of those oud scents even though it’s obviously cleaner and fresher than most, that’s the only “mineral” part about it.

This a pleasant scent, but I already own a bottle of it with a different name: Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt.

Not bad but somewhat of a disappointment. This is not a marriage of two different scent groups coming together to bring forth a unique olfactive offspring. Rather it is light and short-lived Oud followed by a longer lasting low-key aquatic scent.
Disclaimer: This is my opinion based on wearing this for a day.

Just deleted my old review, which was based on testing on paper, not skin. You have to put this one on your skin to appreciate the sea saltiness/oud vibe that is the entire point of the scent. The initial blast is peppery (as I said in my initial review) but that pepper is merely an aperitif that prepares you for the salty sea/oud complexity that makes the scent so interesting and unique. I like it now, and my experience just goes to show that with complex niche scents a rush to judgement can be very unwise indeed. OM is actually a very sexy scent, intimate with the salt and oud, it’s a scent for lovers, and very nice indeed.

As a follow up to my previous review, I have been looking for a fragrance to wear on a rainy day, and Oud Minerale is the best that I have found for me. This has quickly become my favorite fragrance. Try it on a rainy day and see if you agree…
Reading other reviews and what people wrote that this reminds them of, I have to disagree with anyone that says that it resembles any fragrance from Bvlgari, Shelter Island or any other Bond, or Sel Marin. Before you take their word, or mine for that matter, test them side by side before you buy into this being a replica or clone of something else. It stands alone.

I usually love the private blends. Even if one doesn’t suit me I can atleast spray it on and feel inspired. I can appreciate the story it tells and what it’s trying to do. But this was a fail. It smells like Epsom salt.

The initial blast turned me off very badly ( SeaWeed + Oud …. Really?? :0 )
Am sure if you like the previous oud frags from TF you will like this one

Smells like a dirtier and stronger version of Bvlgari Aqva Amara. If you like the whole seaweed mixed with rocks smell, stick with the Bvlgari because it actually has the possibility of garnering some compliments here and there and it costs $200 less than this

This is a fragrance you have to smell, spray and and let it sit with you. At first I was turned off but then I sprayed it on and let it dry down. It is like walking by the dock and getting that bay/beach seaweed salt water smell with some fresh ness. It clears up pretty nice and also something that can really be worn day or night or year round. Lasts pretty long on me. Well
