I just received my bottle of Oud al Qasr. As it is mentioned in the previous reviews the opening is a bit harsh and it has metalic cold note (mint?) The next thing that comes to the foreground is boozy oud, it has a bit sour and spicy red wine aroma. After 25 minutes it settles down a bit, the sour note softens gradually and we discover beautiful warm woody scent. I can smell cedar (smell of Finnish sauna) mixed with ambery smooth vanilla. I think this phase is beautiful, it reminds me slightly of the mentioned before Amber Sultan but only in the dry down phase. Now I am sniffing Ambre Sultan and my wrist with Oud al Qasr and yes they are pretty similar. WOW! I find Cavalli perfume a bit sweeter and drier but yes they both give similar feel!
I need to test it further for longevity and silage but I think it was a very good blind purchase for me, love its warm, dry, oriental feel!

The opening is a little bit harsh because of the oud. After that I enjoy the labdanum/ vanilla combo a lot… Until I start getting the cedar. I think it could have been just fine without the cedar because it gives it a very dry vibe at the end

    UNDERRATED.!
Agree to @Carera can be easily wear by both of genders.
First time of my life i can’t say for a scent “more feminen or more masculine” woody oriental and smokey.
I.m.h.o. this juice can be winner of unisex scents cause really same distance to both of genders.
Not a sillage monster but longevity is good
    suitable for cold seasons
also can be wear at summer nights.

My first impression was Agent Provocateur L’Agent, incense and smoke. We’ll see how it works for the next few days as I wouldn’t consider L’Agent much of a like but I can smell the oud and hopefully that note will make all the difference. I’m trying to get the hang of oud at the moment and this is my third fragrance with oud. It’s great to try new things and move away from all the overly sweet gourmands that are rampant at the moment.

The first impression I got from this perfume was of incense, but it only lasted for a few seconds after I sprayed this onto my wrist. The incense dissipated rapidly to leave a big, simple wood note with a touch of B.O. This is not a complex scent. In fact, I’d go so far as to describe it as crude.

Fragrance Review For Oud Al Qasr Roberto Cavalli
Notes: Cedar, agarwood (oud), labdanum and vanilla.
I’m on an oud binge. This was good not great and I’ve experienced better ouds. For Western perfumery this is Cavalli’s decent oud although Thierry Mugler’s Alien Oud Majesteaux is really much better. First off ladies this I unisex and really does smell more like a man’s cologne. I don’t mind that at all but some of you might. If not read on. This is for us women who love the smell of wood and men’s colognes – even on ourselves. This is an incensed agar wood. Incense is not listed as being in the composition but it’s clearly there. It smells of cathedrals and churches during Sunday Mass. As such it may not to be everyone’s tastes. I wear this the few times I go to church. I wore this to Easter Sunday Mass last month and someone asked me what perfume I was wearing. I thought o they can smell this on me?? Great! I told them a Roberto Cavalli. It’s luxurious and beautiful oud. The woods are quite strong and masculine but then it softens into a vanilla perfume. The labdanum is also clearly there but on me it was more woodsy vanilla. This smells like wooden furniture in a home you just moved into. Gorgeous woods.

Where can I try this in California?? I almost want to blind buy.. But there’s two other versions! I’ll pay for a decant
If it really smells like Ambre Sultan + Oud it’d be amazing! But still have to try it on my skin first :/

Cavalli! You dare to say for women?!!
This is very smokey woody stuff with labdanum and vanilla playing next to oud and cedar with very prominent Cedar and oud notes Cavalli called this actually feminine?
Btw the oud in this is the woody type as the one in oud wood by tom ford it’s not a very medicinal oud
    Update:
This is a cedar bomb and i never thought i will love Cedar that way the vanilla and labdanum provides the cedar with a woody aspect that is so delecious this fragrance is of those i wear to entertain my self. and it’s pretty enjoyable by the others.

This is a true delight! Both to the touch of the hand/eye as well as for the nose. excellent longevity with a strong woody/smokey start that stays with you all day and fades into a faint vanilla……a winner among my 185 fragrances….

Just stop saying “flanker”! True perfume lovers should appreciate a fragrance by its smell not by its bottle!
