    Little sweet gem.

Mango is the first impression for me, then the lychee, which continues to the floral heart. This is a very feminine scent as are many perfumes in the Oscar dlR line. I agree with others who say this is a summer scent. Longevity is moderate an sillage (with two sprays) is light to moderate. This is very nice but I wouldn’t buy it again. I have plenty of other options from this genre. However my tastes run to the exotics, orientals and intense Chypres, together with fragrance gracefully defined as mature scents. Someone who loves fruity florals will probably enjoy this much more than I do.

A little gem! Absolutely a bright and happy “pink” perfume. Perfect for the spring time, but I personally feel it will be even greater in the hot summer.
Cassis notes in fragrance always add a ripe and refreshing vibe to perfumes for me, and this scent is no exception. Paired with the sweet/subtle floral note of peony, Flor ends up feeling like a bottle of simple and refreshing sunshine.
In the opening, it is infact very MANGO. A little tart, almost like a citrus perfume. It mellows out though, and the overall impression shifts from ripe fruit to a simple but effective green and pink peony scent. It almost feels a little aquatic to me at times.
Overall, Flor smells like my idea of a summer garden in the hot afternoon. Tomato leaves misted with water from the hose, and the smell of roses wafting about. An uncomplicated and cute “pick me up” fragrance!

Sweet zingy florals with a mango twist that’s barely noticeable. Nice fragrance, i get lots of compliments when i wear it. This brand is so affordable and never fails.

Starts with a nice hit of fresh mango over florals and then dries fast to boring done-that florals. Nothing wrong here, just nothing new, either. Pass for me.

It’s nice and fresh. Very citrus-y at the beginning, then green when it settles; it kinda smells like green tea on me, and at moments it reminds me of freshly mowed grass. I can’t feel any mango whatsoever, but the peonies are definitely there. Not my thing, though… I guess I’m more into gourmand scents. Sillage is good and it lasts many hours.

i got the big bottle as a blind purchase… for some reason the scent has a bit of that elizabeth arden’s green tea that i am not too crazy about.

ive given a previous review in cooler weather
this review is for hot summer weather
I think the accords are spot on, I get the fresh, fruity (zingy like lime?) green, floral (but I cant identify, it much be what balances it).
the other accords are floating about evening things out.
complex scent, I tried this along with babydoll by YSL which was sweet as, this one was fruity but cooler and zingy, with fresh and a sweet green – a sweet but green herb?
I like both of these better in winter or cooler times, smelling them both on the same arm one after the other (while both scents were good and I feel youd get you r moneys woth in terms of longevity) I didn’t like that particular day.
this lasted a lot longer than one would expect. pleased 🙂

On me, this fragrance is all about the cassis, and the kind of fruit flavored tea that you can get at Panera’s. More fruity than floral.
Usually, I shy away from litchi, but this is really nice-
Like Ange ou Demon Le Secret, minus the patchouli-
Longevity and potency are quite amazing.

Oscar Flor reminds me of Burberry Brit Sheer in more ways than one. I own the latter and enjoy wearing it most during Summer, which also appears to be the best season for this fragrance too.
Oscar Flor is a zesty, sparkling blend of peony, lychee, mango and cassis. It’s a much stronger scent than I expected it to be with excellent throw and longevity. It almost has a clean, crisp shampoo vibe, however it is nicely done, not at all cheap like some fruity shampoo scents tend to be.
I would be fairly confident in gifting this fragrance to someone that loves fruity and/or citrusy scents. I find it incredibly versatile and easy to wear. The quality also outdoes the bargain bin price tag.
Oscar de la Renta are churning out a tonne of Oscar flankers as of late and it’s perhaps their way of making the brand current again. I have a lot of respect for Oscar de la Renta as a long standing perfume house, however it is nice to see the brand trying to keep up with ever-changing trends.
Had I not already owned a bottle of Burberry Brit Sheer I would definitely have invested in a bottle. It is an essential addition to anyone’s wardrobe for Spring and Summer in my opinion, a fragrance that can also linger for a full day under humid or dry conditions.

Sharp zingy but not in a citrus way. Love this more in the cooler months, I tried it in summer and it’s nice but goes blah into every other non spdescript floral, winter keeps the zing.
Great price, easy to wear. The main accords look right.

Quite sharp at the start, but quickly softens and looses the harsh edges. Fresh smelling, floral but a clean pleasant one. Easily an everyday, uncomplicated perfume. I wear this one when I do not want to think much! You know what this reminds me of – ‘Burberry Brit Sheer’ because of the litchi note! But Burberry Brit Sheer is much more well crafted, notes blend slightly better and zero sharpness!

Oscar Flor is a juicy mouthwatering floral. I can’t help but love this on first spritz.
The green cassis leaf is the perfect compliment to luminous peony and gives the flower much character, adding a hint of a minty note and a bit of a bristly feel.
Lychee is always a great pairing with peony, extending the pink rosiness and adding life to the petals. Mango offers a little powdery fruitiness and tart tang along with the citrus nuances of neroli.
Oscar Flor is a very well composed peony scent, romantic, delicious, and uplifting. It’s also the first Oscar De La Renta fragrance I have sampled thanks to one of my lovely Fragrantican scent fairies!

This is like a wonderful floral garden in the early summer. To me, it smells a little bit like my much-loved Alfred Sung Sung but without the sharpness and a nice, quiet rose added in. If I ever had to limit myself to just a few bottles in my fragrance wardrobe, this would definitely make the list. I have fragrances that I can wear anywhere and then I have fragrances that may be too strong and may offend others so I just wear them at home. I feel I could wear this anywhere.

I came across Oscar Flor two weeks ago, after an absent-minded, just-wandering-around type of test spray. It stayed with me for the next few hours so yesterday I went back and had another test spray, sure that I wanted to buy it. I took a bottle from the shelf and walked around the store with it umm-ing and ahh-ing. Do I? Don’t I? In the end I put it back, but 24 hours later the tester strip I brought home is smelling so enticing. I’m not great at picking individual notes, but could have sworn this was rose-based. And though I’m not a particular fan of rose scents (except for the delicious Ombre Rose by Jean-Charles Brosseau) my tester strip has softened down to the most feminine of soft, slightly powdery, soapy roses and now I wish I’d bought it. The one I’d picked up was on sale and the last bottle on display. Maybe it will still be there tomorrow. I’m not a jasmine lover at all but this didn’t smell like jasmine. Its definitely a fragrance that (for me anyway) smells best in the dry down. And it has great longevity if I can still smell it clearly on the tester strip 24 hours later. It’s pretty but not overly sweet. And I didn’t find it attractive initially but given time and a few hours to settle, and it’s beautiful.

Oscar Flor by Oscar de la Renta is so feminine and fresh! I love peony because it is such a fresh floral scent that is very clean and mixes well with grassy green notes and sweeter fruity notes. The cassis smells similar to black currant but has a very fresh tropical twist to it – kind of like a blackberry and a pomegranate combined. Normally I shy away from jasmine dominant fragrances because it tends to smell pungent with my body chemistry, but the sweet mango balances out the jasmine and makes this a wearable fragrance that has jasmine in it for me and I love that! I have not had much luck with Oscar fragrances in the past, but this one is absolutely fantastic! Smells gorgeous!

I have had this scent for quite a while now but I never wrote a review. Perhaps because it is not one of the best of Oscar’s to me. I like it but there are some qualities about it that just do not make my nose happy. I am a huge fan of most all of the Oscar perfumes and I do like this one but I think maybe the peony is just too forward in this fragrance. I have never been much on the peony. A little I can handle but an overdose turns my nose away. I do love the bottle. It is very pretty and is the usual design of the older Oscar bottles. I am glad I have this perfume in my fragrance wardrobe though. If I could find a larger bottle, I am sure I would purchase it. I find that as time goes by, my love of scents can change from like to love. This is yet another well designed fragrance from ODR.

JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED!ILOVE Oscar flor!! I had been wanting to sample this for quite a while then I walked into Marshalls and their it was I snatched the bottle up my heart was racing. a blind buy $20 for the 1.7oz bottle I knew I couldn’t go wrong. When I got outside I sprayed. First thing I thought was “a sheer pnk light more expensive smelling version of EA sunflowers.” That was just a first impression as it doesn’t smell like that at all to There is nothing offensive about this perfect and it suits me. This is a pretty floral but not wimpy girly floral. Oscar flor is the pretty girl fresh green fresh musky floral that stands up for all her bullied raspberry vanilla syrupy sweet friends! Buy it!
    UPDATE:
I might be wrong but I was trying to compare this to something. I almost want to say this is a cross between Gucci Envy Me and Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers with a touch of ivory soap. There may be something else it’s more closer to but from what I have smelled that’s what I get.

I have a weird love/dislike reaction to this blind buy. I sprayed it on and as I walked to get my sushi I kept getting a “oh how lovely” followed by a “hmm what’s this weird smell”. I can’t put my finger on it. One moment it smells very feminine and friendly yet a minute later I feel it smells like a dryer sheet.
It past a long time once sprayed on and you don’t need to use a lot either. I may try and layer it with some other fumes, see if I keep liking it instead of being an eternal libra going back and forth between like and dislike

Reminds me of a perfume my ex-boyfriend’s mom brought from Spain in 2000. The Si comparison is true. I find it a little like Houbigant Quelques Fleurs Original mixed with Bright Crystal. A boring, mature fragrance.

This one is a bit stronger than the gold velvet bottle from this year also. I’d say it’s a reasonably safe buy, if I had one given to me I’d use it, don’t know if I’d buy it. I like this better than extrodinary women or what ever it’s called

  25. :

    Soft floral
A little grassy type fresh, no marine I don’t think, floral definitely. Not creamy, and not sharp. Maybe jasmine? I’m not so great pinpointing exact scents. Top notes are beautifully floral fresh and rounded. I might be smelling some rose in there… I will wait for the base. Had it in an hour, and it’s coming into spring now

Although I can see that Oscar Flor could be dismissed by many for being either too dull or too screechy, for me this scent evokes the imageries of mystic Babylon gardens. It is simply very pleasant!
It is an intense pink floral fragrance with sparkling silvery and green nuances. I can distinguish litchi too which gives a subtle rosy-fruity tartness to the composition. I would describe it as a more mature pink floral-fruity-green with a clean, non sugary background.
A perfect warm weather morning after shower scent which lasts and projects.

  27. :

To me, this doesn’t smell like the original Oscar scent at all.
    It’s much lighter, less spicy/heavy, more generic-smelling.
Really, it’s a light floral with a faint soapy aspect, and maybe maybe some fruit in there (is that the mango?)
While it’s more generic than most Oscar scents, and not what I would expect from him, it is pleasant.
I smell jasmine mostly and a bit of peony but again, the florals are light.
To be honest, although it’s not such a distinctive scent, it may be very practical during these very hot days of summer.

Flor is all balmy, rosy, musk to me with a fesh, clean vibe (no sweetness in here). It gives you that creamy, soapy, fresh and clean feel of a shower gel or body lotion but in perfume form. I have it on a tester strip that I sprayed yesterday; more than 24 hours later it is still going strong – excellent longevity, and I dare say it projects well, too. Don’t interpret that as Flor being overpowering; even though it is not a shy flower it doesn’t overpower (well, if you are not too trigger happy lol). For me personally a bit too soapy, but I think if I’d pass someone wearing it I’d appreciate the nice balmy, clean smell.

I just bought this blind and I LOVE it. I have a lot of different scents and seldom run into anything I get truly excited about anymore, but I am in love with this!!! Peony is one of my favorite flowers and it is splendid here. It’s also got enough green to keep things crisp. It’s so light and fresh that I can’t stop smelling my wrist. I got this originally from Scentbird and since then have purchased two full-sized bottles. Worth trying and definitely worth buying!!!

I love this beautiful fruity, fresh, floral, green delicious perfume. Immediately I get a very gorgeous, strong juicy smell of mango, litchi and peony! It’s stupendous! Oh it’s really fantastic! Then all day (and it lasted from early morning – 4am – until the next morning very well!) I could smell everything in it wafting around me – bit of this, a bit of that. Nothing disappeared, it just softened a bit, and became a little more powdery. Oh completely sublime! It’s almost my favourite! Maybe …….? Hmmm… not quite, but very close. It’s incredibly gorgeous!!!

Very strong peony note, but you can detect the cassis, jasmine and fruit as it develops. I think this is perfect for summer. It is simple, fresh and sings in the heat. Nothing sultry or evening about it but I would consider it an all-around great scent for casual events/outfits

Last year for my birthday present, my husband bought me a bottle of oscar flor. Since then I’ve purchased and used up 2 more 3.4oz bottles! This is a beautiful peony, mango, jasmine, ivy, cassis, perfume! It is one of my favorites. The initial burst smells like mango and peony. Mid notes smell like creamy jasmine, light mango, ivy and cassis. I can smell cassis all the way through. The base notes become more creamy, tonka bean, musk, peony, and cassis. Longevity about 6 hours, sillage is an arms length fir about 2 hours then sits in a close personal radius like a fragrant bubble around you. It’s perfect for spring and summer but i wear it all year round. I absolutely love this perfume. I have a couple squirts left in my bottle now and I’m clinging to it anticipating next week when I’m able to by another one. For anyone who is crazy about layering scents like me FYI, bbw tahiti island dream body lotion and body spray with oscar flor sprayed on top is an addictive combination! Whenever i wear oscar flor i always wear tahiti island dream under it. The creaminess intensifies, the scent is more complex and it adds some depth to oscar flor. Oscar flor is a perfume i will forever have in my collection!

Fresh floral. I don’t get “tropical” as said in the notes slide bar. Springy and summery though yes. Probably more a spring scent. It’s helping me dust the snow off my boots as we speak 🙂 Bursting floral on first spray, mellows down into the not overly sweet mango and soft peony shows up. It rides there a few hours and eventually a soft sweet musk settles below the gentle fruit floral heart. Settles at the skin after about 4 hours but you stay beautifully scented. I can still smell this morning the wrist sprays I used last night. This is one of my top 5 must haves. It’s a go to easy wear for everyday to feel fresh and clean. I’ve found I am old school as far as perfumes and their notes. I like basic unconfusing scents. This is one of them and I love it. Peony, semi sweet mango and soft musk is what I get. Wishing I had bought the large bottle. An ounce of anything goes too fast when you love it.

Oh so feminine…floral and tart. I really don’t know how to describe it other than its like a much longer lasting, beautiful body spray from bath and body works. But that gives it a cheap vibe by description and it’s really not. It’s really beautiful. I really really really like it.

This is pretty, mild and sweet. Picked the peonies right off. Like a pink, soft, pretty little scent cloud. Quite nice.

Brought a bottle of this yesterday. I love that it’s a floral with a fruity twist which I think keeps it modern and doesn’t smell like pure sugar. The mango and litchi give it enough sweetness without the celebrity perfume vibe. Its very feminine but also dries down to be very faint in a period of two hours. It’s not a “look at me perfume” but does possess class and I think it’s softness would receive compliments.

At first I loved the way this smelt on my skin… so much so I was like, “oh, this is lovely!” Then the unthinkable happened… It turned into a horrible, sour, cringe worthy, potent stench! Oh my goodness I used a loofah to try to get this off of me! I don’t know what happened… either that’s the way it was suppose to smell (which I doubt), the perfume I used had turned, or it completely clashed with my body chemistry. Either way I will be steering clear of this :-/

Sweet. On me, the jasmine is quite strong in the beginning. One it calmes down a bit, I am reminded of other fragrances I have tried before, such as Clinique’s Happy Heart and Elizabeth Arden’s True Love. Not a copycat fragrance, just easily interchangeable I think. Definitely in the same family and evoking the same vibe. It’s a pretty, feminine scent. Very girly. Good for summer days and inoffensive, but not extraordinary by any means. Decent sillage for such a delicate fragrance. Longevity could be better. 4 hours on me.

Sampled this on the local store. On my skin this is almost the same as YSL Rive Gauche – but much milder and less pungent – and I was quite sure that it has moss and sandalwood in base – suprised when I read info from this site – none of these notes. On my skin it lacks musk, I detect none of it at all. It must be the ivy which gives this the same earthy wibe as in RG. This has nothing in common with the original Oscar, that’s sure.
    Very summerish.Likeable.

  44. :

Citrus-y then musky floral. The mango keeps it interesting in the middle and drydown. Makes it unique but not outstanding. Cute but not for me. I think it is an insipid interpretation of La Belle en Vie or Armani Si. If you want the aquatic version of LBEV or Si, try this.
    One spray on me,
    Sillage: a foot
    Longevity: 2 hours
    Rating: 2/5

Well it is indeed a white floral with a tropical twist, I like it, but I don’t have to have it…pretty enough, feminine, a bit like lots of scents out there..it is fresh, I think t would make a nice gift, I don’t have too much to say about it, it is nice but I am not finding it out of the ordinary, although it has a certain appeal..it isn’t my style , but it certainly smells nice on a warm summer day!! Makes me think of flowery dresses and white hats!!

I bought this fragrance over the weekend. I should have remembered to always test a scent for a couple of days before making a purchase. I love it when it first goes on (hence the purchase). On two occasions I could not wait to get home to shower and get the scent off me. After a couple of hours on MY skin it gets I guess “sour”. It smells on me as if I had been partying all night and I wake up the next day with “stale, sour, hairspray scent”. Unfortunately it is not for me. 🙁

I just smelled this for the first time in the store that I work at(Lord & Taylor) and I have to say that I adore this scent! I am not a huge fan of the original Oscar scent, but this is a perfect blend between floral and fruity but not too young sweet smelling typical fruity-floral. I will definitely be purchasing this in the near future! Way to go Oscar!
