I smelled it from the bottle. All I get is a sweet cinnamon, quite common vibe in designer offerings. Not my thing.

Smells like Joop! Homme?! I don’t get that at all personally, completely different to me. I can see they share some common ingredients from the note breakdown but the smell is definitely not the same. I’ve been a lover and user of the OS77 fragrance for quite some years now. Fantastic fragrance that nevers fails to deliver, for me. I also like Joop! Homme, along with Montblanc Individuel. Those 2 I can definitely see the resemblance.
I’d like to say blind buy worthy but I guess one person’s taste varies greatly from another.

I am writing this to right a wrong after 2 years of my first review which I deleted because now I can see I was wrong. That was the time I first started to get in this wonderful world of fragrances. Recently I was going through the old reviews and I came across GodKing’s review where he mentions olfactory illusion which got my curiosity up. Because sometimes what I find strong some people find weak or visa versa. When I bought no.77 2-2.5 years ago and paid 190$ i was kind of expecting a monstrous and loud performance which the peninsula sometimes successfully produces. When I didn’t get that, I used 10 sprays on me and at that point I was quite numb to the smell I reckon which GodKing refers to as olfactory illusion. And being pissed off I just put it aside not to open again and wrote it off as another failed blind buy. But after reading GodKing’s review, I opened the box and sprayed 2 spritz on each arm again 2 weeks ago. Maybe after 45 mins, I stopped smelling it myself unless i directly put my nose on my arm, but people could smell it and they really liked it. Next time I tried it at night on my arm, and even after 10 hours, I could still smell it on my arm. It smells like a more refined version of Creed Santal. Compared to Santal this performs better.
    On longevity front it’s 8.5/10
Sillage (moderate): 7/10 (I still think, sillage can be improved)
    Smell: 9/10
    Overall: 8.5/10
Long story short, I decided not to jump into any conclusion after first sniff from now on and use it some time and get people’s opinion as well before I write anyting about a frag.

This is a radiant citrus gourmand spicy musk that will please fans of Aventus offerings like Santal, Himalaya and Aventus. The juice is beautifully blended and has a variety of notes surrounding the central notes of musk and bergamot. These include lavender, basil, geranium, cloves, apple, cinnamon, cedar, patchouli, oakmoss, labdanum, and vanilla.
The perfume exudes classic old style masculinity and is intense, woody, sharp, elegant and luxurious. Pronounced sillage and longevity. Not sure where the comments below about poor longevity are coming from. This one is an easy 8 hours on my skin. Nothing spectacularly innovative in my opinion, but classic comforting old style masculine luxury with high quality ingredients. Enjoy!

I got a great deal on Shaik Opulent No. 77 so I picked-up a bottle last Fall and gave it to myself as an opulent birthday present a few weeks ago. First, the presentation was opulent and with great attention to detail with the bottle design, coffret, packaging and gift bag. Contrary to my opinion, a gal pal thought the presentation was just plain gaudy. One women’s trash is another man’s treasure, I suppose.
As far as the scent goes…it reminded me of Creed Original Santal (which I love) when first applied, but it appeared to be a bit different; spicier and creamier if I had to venture a guess. Moreover, this similarity only lasted a short while (20-minutes?) before the scent changed and, in fact, seemed to become very faint and practically disappeared on my skin. But don’t be fooled because this is an olfactory illusion and the scent is still going strong and others will notice it. I went to bed wearing this scent and, when I awoke, I was surrounded in a wonderfully erotic cuddle scent. Nice!
I have only worn this fragrance twice so I will need to spend a lot more time with it. But it appears to lasts a solid 10+ hours and I’ve had some olfactory overload issues with this fragrance. Finally, as much as my gal pal disliked the packaging, she said OSC #77 was her favorite fragrances in Scent Armory – and I have hundreds of bottles. Holy Moly! She has known me for the past 3-years and many of the big-hitters and panty-droppers don’t get anything more than an, “It’s Okay” from her nose. Yikes!
I am going to compare this fragrance with Original Santal (another scent the ladies love on my skin) and note the similarities and differences. For now, it’s safe to say that OSC #77 is really great intimate scent…perhaps it should be renamed OSC #69. Yowza!

I tested this one when I was in Dubai recently. All I could smell from start to end was Lavendel, Lavendel and Lavendel!!! For 180 USD there are much better and reasonable options out there. Cheers

Houstonx is right about the longevity of no.77. The first sample I tried in 2012; 10 hours on my skin…
Later, end of 2015, a new sample gave me max. half an hour.
Reviews here (and on basenotes) probably referring to the ‘vintage’, pre-formulated version.
So beware: even perfumes which cost around 300 euro can be reformulated into zero nowadays.
    Always try before buy!

It true it has same aura as the Creed Santali and the red Joop. But there is something different about it in some ways. The packing is very good as well as the bottle. As for the smell is not that bad but not the best perfum I ever had.

For the price you have other options… It’s like an overpriced Creed Original Santal, Joop or Montblanc Individuel! I personally don’t think it’s worth it!!!

My collegea went to Arabia for work a few years ago and on his trips he bought this in Dubai.
Today he brought me the 120 ml at work to show me (as im interested in tis scent) and i must say the packaging only is worth 20 to 30 bucks! Wow!! almost over the top luxurous in almost a funny way with a GEM on top all bling bling.. but i like it! , it will be an eye catcher for sure on your cabinet or drawer.
ok anyway its about the juice, and well its a very oriental/arabian spicey fragrance! it captures almost everything you know about the luxurous way of life in the middel east.

I bought one in Dubai Duty Free when I went home to the Philippines last April and I do not regret buying this. It’s worth more than the 180 USD I shelled out.

Oriental, woody, & sharp. Very intense. This is Arabic perfume at its best. Shaik, indeed! Thank God my dad recieved this as a gift. It gave us a break from having to smell his only true love, Boss number one.
