This is to die for…It is so so but so very beautiful and addictive. I cannot stop smelling it on my wrist. I only recently started to explore the world of fragrance so I cannot say I’m a longtime user of Opium. I’m – relatively – young so I cannot claim a long acquaintance with this famous potion. But I can say I adore it! This beautiful creation makes me dream, it gives me courage and it makes me have VERY high standards for what a perfume means! Yes, I’m talking to you contemporary washed down diluted minimalist and bombastic fruitchoulis! (please do not take any offense in this last phrase, I was merely inebriated by Opium 🙂

Today my Treasure has Come 🙂 I love, love, love it. I have Orchidee de Chine and they are similar in fact, but while Orchidee is more floral, Imperiale is more creamy/buttery. For me both are to dye for and now as I have them in my collection I feel satisfied. I’m on a cloud 9:-)

This smells almost the same as Orchidée de Chine.
And same as Orchidée, I wouldn´t be thinking about Opium, if I didn´t see the bottle.
There might be some myrrh in Fleur, but not as a main theme (as it is in Opium) and instead of carnation, cloves and cinnamon, here are very powdery flowers, kind of exotic. This Opium is not middle east, it is more like pacific.
It is nice, yet it doesn´t have the projection and lasting power of the original.
    Powdery soft, clean, exotic floral.

oh waw..i can almost drink this.. i spray it and i am in heaven.. i feel like every vain and senue in my body expands with pleasure.. and opens to life.. it transcends me to another level..its a wonderful.. full bodied.. oriental.. spicy.. oriental woody.. ambery.. musky.. amazing.. beautiful.. full of grace.. and passion.. its warm.. soft.. strong.. mellow.. yet hard.. it intoxicating.. mesmerising.. its full of mystery.. its a wonderful.. beautify..a master piece..a perfumers perfume..every perfumista must study .. it stood the test of time.. its so similar to the original opium..its loved by both sexes.. just a bit fresher.. a bit more magical.. and whimsical ..its a fragrance made for those who are confident enough to be engulfed in true bliss and beauty.. and who are not afraid to show their strength, personality and individual identity.. its a distinctive scent.. it could easily be a signature scent.. people will remember you forever more.. with that smoky.. balmy.. almost heavenly scent ..there is something definitely addictive about opium ..once you go there there is no coming back.. its in another level.. and nothing less or else will ever do.. if you get hooked ..it will be for a life time.. but a life time filled with bliss and exuberance..

I have a bottle 90-95% full 3.3 oz. If you are interested I’ll sell it or exchange it. Its lovely but still too strong for me.
I used Opium a long time ago and really loved it but now I was hoping for a lighter version of it. This scent will linger a little softer with the same notes as Opium but the opening is as strong as the original itself.

This a truly lovely fragrance! I fail to see the point of most flankers but this one is different. I love Opium – the original, not the reformulation – as a winter scent. It’s wonderfully glamorous in the cold, but too heavy for warm weather. So this version is great for me – all the warmth and spice of the original Opium but in a bright breezy style that is perfect for spring and summer. Thank you YSL – I see the light!

This perfect flanker takes you from the sexy red chamber of the imperial palace to it exotic April garden within the Forbidden City. Its perfect for warm weather evenings. It is still very loyal to the original classic.
What is different? There is still lots of spices. The florals are the biggest change. The carnation is less bitter and lily of the valley is gone. In its place is the imperial flower-almond blossom. Its utterly wonderful-soft, creamy and sweet! It fits into the composition like an old friend. The base still has lots of sandalwood, vanilla, amber and myrrh. Its not as smokey or heavy. Its also very romantic, to be shared outside under a spring moon…
It was offered as a limited edition and I still see some affordable bottles online. Opium lovers need to hurry! It is brilliant.

This is a nice flanker. Imperial Flower is a softer Opium. Very powdery on the dry-down along with the Opium spices but of course much, much lighter than the queen. This one is also a little bit sweet, as in spicy-sweet, where as the original is more dryish. I also love the apricot blossom note too. It’s pretty!
This perfume may be used as an introduction to Opium if you are not willing to take the plunge but Opium is a really unique scent and I think Opium smells good on everyone. It’s just a matter if you can personally tolerate all those notes throughout the day or night.

After being hit by bergamot first – and the citrus top notes were so strong that it gave me creeps – the scent became sweet and there’s some resin.. or maybe it’s the apricot blossom. I however find it very agreeable.

I enjoy this very much. Has much of the character of the original, but is easier to wear for daytime. None of the LEs will ever match the original, but they’re not supposed to!

Just a lighter version of the original. I think it suites better summer time or pple who dont like the overpowering effect of Opuim, the original.

Forget about all these limited editions if you have used the original Opium. It is like an overly diluted cup of Chinese tea where the flavor is hardly there.
