I have it! This is THE patch & vanilla fragrance, but it’s gourmand! I would say it’s a dead-on blend of L’Artisan Parfumeur’s Caligna and Bois Farine — there’s a definite baked goods/pastry air about it, accurately reflecting the goodies offered at and Oneg Shabbat.
Unlike the photo above, the cap is metal, a heavy gold object and, along with the octagonal bottle, VERY much like L’Artisan’s bottles before they changed to the hideously gloomy gray glass with black tops.
All said, a TREMENDOUS value at less than $35.00 USD for 2.82oz. I paid twice that for each of my 3.3oz bottles of Caligna and Bois Farine… Who knew? If I’d already had Oneg I wouldn’t have purchased either of them. 5 stars!
Edit: downgraded to 3.5-4 stars because of just 3-4 hour longevity. While it lasts it’s really delicious.

MellyHelly – Sabon is an Israeli company. It’s first store was in Tel Aviv and now it operates world-wide.
Oneg means ‘pleasure’ in biblical and modern Hebrew.
The full name of the Friday night get-together that Weegee is referring to is an “Oneg Shabbat” – a “Sabbath Pleasure”, based on a verse in Isaiah which exhorts Jews to take pleasure in the Sabbath day.
Weegee- your homemade Oneg sounds awesome…

“Oneg” is the Hebrew word for the coffee, tea & dessert buffet offered in the social hall at Temple/shul after Friday night Jewish Shabbat services. Members of the shul/Temple take it in turns to host and it’s a lovely social time after the religious service. Particularly lavish are the Onegs hosted by affluent members whose son or daughter is about to celebrate bar/bat mitzvah the next day. “Regular” onegs, hosted by less affluent members of the congregation (like me!) often feature homemade baked goods from traditional family recipes.
While I haven’t sampled this fragrance I’m a fan of vanilla, cacao and patchouli and find it particularly appealing that a gourmand fragrance is inspired by such a festive occasion. A blind buy but having only just now heard about this fragrance I’m ordering a bottle immediately. Will happily update after my bottle has arrived later this week.
Check out Amazon if you want to purchase this for about $35.00 USD.

Recently purchased this from Sabon and to me this is a hidden gem. First off, the store is very obscure at the moment but that is changing. Few people know the brand exists yet. Sabon will remind folks of L’Occitane, Anthropologie, Rituals, or a high end Bath and Body Works. Sabon may produce the best scents of all these brands and i was pleasantly surprised when sampling their lineup.
Oneg starts of with a very interesting combo of orange, a dry chocolate, earthy and piercing Patchouli and a smooth Vanilla, in that order for me. Missing is the off putting alcoholic sting that u smell from similar brands upon first sniff. But to some the start might be rough. The drydown is where magic happens though. The combo of these notes is very simple but very sensual and warm. it’s the perfect scent for the cooler weather.
The performance on my skin is actually very good. I don’t want this scent to overperform or it wouldn’t be as comfortable for men to wear. the way it is, it lasts 8 hours on my skin but calms down to a skin scent within 3-4 hours after a very present opening.
If i were to describe what scents this reminds me of id say a combo of Angel and Rochas Man. It’s more smooth, darker and simpler than Angel but a lot more dense and deeper than Rochas Man. If you love Patchouli, chocolate and Vanilla combos in fragrances Oneg is a scent u should check out. If you thought Angel was too harsh, too over the top and too feminine for a man to pull off check this out. it’s a lot more unisex imo. If u liked Rochas but didn’t like the performance and don’t want to buy New Haarlem by Bond, Oneg is a great scent under $50 to check out.
The compliment factor has been very good so far. It gets noticed and people tend to appreciate the smell. I wore this mostly at night during testing it out over the last couple of weeks and it has been doing a great job for me.
I honestly feel this scent is an amazing sleeper or hidden gem that once discovered by enough people in our community it will get the proper attention among patchouli vanilla lovers in the fragcom. It’s not the best scent out there but to me it is a way better option than the scents it may remind you of and that is saying a lot considering the source is a up start personal care brand. Very impressive for sure.
IF I had to rank this scent using my PAGE rating I’d consider this scent a G…It’s good, better than Average but not on the level of an exceptional titan of it’s genre type of scent. Good tho in my opinion is a huge compliment to what this brand has created with this fragrance. It’s not the most unique scent but when a new scent that isn’t unique can make the scents it reminds you of smell worse than it, that’s an accomplishment worth noting.

I’m a bit confused with this brand. I have a shop quite close to me and I like the kind SAs that make me try everything on my hands. Their smells are nice and smell quite natural (not sure if they are). They told me it’s from Israel, but I see that they’re US-based.
Unfortunately we don’t have all those perfumes here, so the only one I can review is the Lavender-Patchouli-Vanilla. I cannot see any lavender listed here.
The lavender gives a very bright opening and it smells for long time before it fades to a total patchouli-vanilla combo.
My immediate feeling was “Wow! This is a light version of a Jicky/Shalimar mix!” I clearly smelled all the main notes and I think they are good quality. I don’t believe the whole natural essential oils stuff, especially as the whole blend becomes soapy in 10 minutes, then warm again. I would call this one a soapy Shalimar/Jicky. Not very projecting IMO, but I should ask someone else for that. It is indeed longlasting on skin!
There were only few bottles left. They probably are going to renew the line?

I am still torn about this one. Upon first sniff it was a huge disappointment because I bought the whole array of Patchouli Lavender Vanilla body products, that stuff is truly amazing and I believe it used to have a matching EDT. Apparently the EDT has been discontinued and now the deo will be too, was the most awesome deo ever almost like a perfume and I felt addicted to the scent. I loved waking up and still smelling it very strong on me. The SA assured me (ordered online) that this EDT is in fact the same as the PLV line. Absolutely not! The PLV is a strong patchouli which could be too much by itself but the vanilla balances it out beautifully while adding a spicey herbal twist with the lavender. Just awesome stuff.
This I sprayed and I was like yikes, synthetic fruity, boozy, gourmand mess. Like pina colada. The orange really does no good to it at all, way too strong and it somehow transfers into a strong pineapple scent. Of course it was counteracted by overly sweet notes something along the line of Candy and the horrible Pink Sugar (Candy was not so bad) and I have been over my gourmand phase or so I thought.
But after the disappointment of expecting something else and really not wanting a gourmand, I am starting to find this quite addictive too, when the heart opens up and the base develops, it becomes really good.
I have to also note that I generally wear niche lines with Le Labo being my favorite and of course the price of Sabon EDT is a fraction of my usual stuff.
I think I am actually beginning to enjoy Oneg, who knows one day I may become slightly addicted. It still works layered with the PLV body products and the combo smells quite nice and addictive, great for winter months. Now that I forced myself to wear it for one day and actually liked it, I am wearing it, liking it and find it much better than at first and much less gourmand though it is still there. I just think that the top is pretty horrible but once that softens in a few minutes, the rest is good stuff.
Sabon body products really are the best, they were a very positive surprise to me. The PLV line is awesome and their foot cream is just delish. So while I rarely choose a perfume for a body product line, I just did that though in the future I will not repurchase the EDT, just use a different perfume with their body products.

This is a long lasting scent, however the Vanilla drowns out the Patchouli. I still keep it in it’s box, at the back of my dresser for a rainy cold day.

its a simple version of angel which is strictly vanilla and patchouli. sweet and spicy. worth to try if u think angel is too much or too complicated.

This smells exactly like Angel to me. The differences are hardly distinguishable. I was excited to receive it, but was disappointed when I smelled it, since I have owned Angel, and am over it.

Sister to Angel, not as complicated but very nice, it is long lasting also, try this one if you get a good price.

I like it! Warm, sexy, spicy, vanilla with a little kick. Its very earthy, bohemian and it lasts.
