Description
The Joe Project is a collection of four perfumes—Rocket Joe, One Legged Joe, Mama Joe and Lushious Joe, each inspired by perfumer Jarekhye Covarrubias‘ obsession with coffee and all things coffee-scented.
One Legged Joe? The perfumer says, “What Can I say about this one, other than a very usual name for usual fragrance. (My Personal favorite from the collection).” One Legged Joe is another literal translation, this time of a bacon maple doughnut entree served at a famous Pancake house.
One Legged Joe features notes of black coffee, wet coffee grounds, warm éclair, maple glazed, fresh cream butter, maple syrup and bitter woods.
One Legged Joe was launched in 2017.

Managed to snag this for a steal during a BOGOF sale, and I’m glad I did as I’m not sure how easy these are going to be to hunt down in the future.
THIS is what a coffee scent should be. So many scents claim to have a coffee note and it’s virtually undetectable (I’m looking at you, Black Opium)….but here it’s the main feature. So. Damn. Good.
This fragrance is a camping trip in the Pacific Northwest in a bottle. The opening is a burst of sweet freshly brewed coffee…a hint of bitter but mostly sweet, which is my favorite way to drink coffee. The buttery pancakes and syrup accord come in fairly quickly, you do have to like maple as a note in order to love this one, as it’s tenacious but OH SO YUMMY. The woodsy background just amplifies the feel of waking up on a crisp morning outdoors, heating your coffee and getting excited for the breakfast cooking over an open fire. I have to give Ganache props for the clever name (One legged Joe= I Hop) but rather than a chain restaurant, this smells like childhood memories up at Baker Lake to me.
An absolute winner.

Powerful juice! People will comment but be careful not to overspray, or the comments may not be what you’re hoping for. Yes, it’s pancakes and syrup. Completely unisex imo.

WOW ! Wearing this for the first time today. This perfume is wonderful ! It really smells like rich fresh brewed black coffee with sweet maple syrup and pancakes with a touch of caramel! Projection is consistently at least 3 feet ! Warmth of my skin really enhances this scent. Clings nicely in my hair, too !
I have never had so very many compliments in one day, from both men and women ! Yes, I told them all where to order this one, too ! Delicious, true-to-life flavors and super long lasting ! I’ve worn this for over 10 hours now and it’s still going as strong as when I first sprayed it on ! Amazing ! It’s addictive and I’m totally hooked on it ! Glad I bought the largest bottle !
I will explore other perfumes from this house, too ! Excellent WAY above average niche quality, uniquely creative, with incredible projection, and extremely long lasting ! SCORE !!!!

This was awful for me.
Coffee, yes, but mixed with some spicy notes (maple syrup?) that made this smell like stale urine. Couldn’t use it as a fragrance on me so thought I could perhaps use it as a room spray? Maybe it was my skin chemistry? Turned out no, I sprayed liberally my comforter and at night I was trying to find out where the pee smell was coming from.
Mama Joe on the other hand is delicious!

So, as of this posting I’m one of only 5 members who own this delicious gem? How can this be? I’m hardly a trendsetter… but I do very much LOVE a good cup of coffee and the aroma of the coffee brewing.
One Legged Joe smells like THE best freshly ground coffee beans brewing while someone drips maple glaze on hot donuts just out of the fryer. Yeah, I smell like IHOP and I love it!!!
My bottle arrived today and an hour later a friend arrived to take me out to dinner. When I opened the door he said, “Maybe we should stay here and eat because your house smells fantastic!”
Lasts about 6 hours with the maple sweetness of hot donuts giving way to a lovely “coffee with cream” fragrance around the 4 hour mark.
As much as I love coffee and coffee fragrances, I’m dumbstruck that I lived in ignorance of this line until someone mentioned it in the forums a couple of weeks ago.
This gem is -unbelievably- being discontinued. Go NOW to the Ganache website and take advantage of their “buy one get one free” (with free U.S. shipping!) and grab this gem before it’s gone. I’ve also ordered their Cheat Day, Lushious Joe and Rocket Joe and will happily report later on. Contemplating a purchase of Mama Joe and Chocolate Wasted (which will be reformulated once current supplies are gone).

Edit: In an email from the perfumer thanking me for my purchases he confirmed that One Legged Joe is, indeed, discontinued under this name but will shortly be rereleased (same formula) under the name Breakfast in Bed. If you love gourmand fragrances and love the smell of cookies, donuts, pancakes with maple syrup and coffee, you MUST have this!

This has got to be the most delicious coffee scent ever. I want to drink it, I want to eat it, I want to bathe in it.
It smells like a traditional coffee shop with wooden floors, freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked delicious caramel cakes are being served. It smells very similar to the discontinued oil from Black Violet called Affogato.
Amazing longevity and projection, 3 squirts last almost 24 hours and the comments from others…well…who smells like a cake and coffee…mmmm where is that coffee cake…who made pot of sweet mocha…
Yes, a full bottle is on the way to join my collection…YUM!!!
