sweet memories, I used to wear this(when it was still available) when I was still young and it was- at that time-the best scent ever. sweet red fruit scent that pleases young girls.

Tonka bean and almond are very present but it’s a light fragrance. Sugar is not so present and it’s too bad and I can’t smell vanilla. The softest version of Ode à l’amour line according to me.

This scent was light, pretty, but was just not for me. Perhaps it was because I was pregnant or maybe my sense of scent was off then. I am not going to say it is not a great scent, it is. Just not one of my faves.

Gypsy was right, this is my favorite Ode fragrance. The whole Ode line is not really designed for good old Action, I am clearly a lover of the old school vintages. But I DO LOVE this one. A very nice gourmand, not over the top but quite classy. Thank you GYPSY!!

O Action, your wish is my Command…
I was lucky enough to get this discontinued gem when it was rereleased for a Valentine’s Day special in 2007. I mentioned a little about it in my review of ‘Passionement’-but here is the total skinny…
This scent is listed as an oriental vanilla, yet vanilla appears nowhere in the notes. This begins with a yummy (in every sense of the word) combination of warm nutty almonds smothered in sugar. A gourmand accord to be sure, but it is much more than that. The body of this scent is built around hawthorm flowers, (the blossoms of a tree) which always remind me slightly of honeysuckle with a fruitier finish, and they make one’s mind go to the first flowers of spring and falling in love for the first time. The drydown is my favorite part:tonka’s smooth warmth with a very clean non-animalic musk. Tonka has a very high concentration of coumarin (a grassy vanillic smelling compound)and this is no doubt where the ‘vanilla’ aroma comes form. This has an innocent aroma, pure and floral, and though it is a bit femme, even for me, Mother loves it and on the whole dislikes most orientals and loathes vanilla, so this is perhaps the exception to the rule for any of you who (for whatever reason) dislike vanilla…
    Sillage: good
    Longevity: great
    Overall: 3.25/5
Don’t let what I said about this in my previous review make you think it is not nice…It is very nice, just a little too airy/floral/sweet for my tastes. This scent projects well and lasts longer than I expected it would. It is very sweet, floral and musky vanilla-not my most favorite things in a fragrance, but very, very well-done and some of you floral vanilla lovers will just adore this flanker, Mother likes it more than the original: Ode A L’amour! And it is called Tenderness so expect something loving and gentle, but by no means weak or watery…and it smells much better (and deeper) on the skin than paper or clothing.
This was released in a ‘splash’ (non-spraying) bottle with a very tight dobber-plug lid and is meant to lie on its back, so check your caps folks, if you do not want to lose a beautiful discontinued fragrance…
