Oh my. I’ve been waiting impatiently to try out my first set of imps from BPAL because I’ve had an awful sinus infection. I couldn’t wait anymore and while I’m not yet back to full nose function I could smell this beauty both in the imp, fresh on my skin and even now hours later I get a bit when I smell my wrist.
I like sweet, but my skin usually amplifies it too much and I end bored with sugary, syrupy blah scents that seem childish to me. But this is a heavenly vanilla, Amber, honey pot. I agree that it’s more honeycomb than straight honey. Like it’s fresh and not starting to crystallize into sugar. A dewy, sensuous resin, dripping with warm Amber and just like it does in baking, here the vanilla just adds dimension and richness. Sigh. O is aptly named. My man doesn’t have a great sense of smell and he’s never noticed or commented on my scent before, but today he came in saying mmmmm something smells good, is it you? And indeed it was.

In the beginning this is an addictively sweet cherry syrup deepened by the amber and honey. It’s not exactly sugary… it’s almost a metallic sweetness that hits you in the back of your throat. I can see why many reviews refer to this as seductive or sexy.
But then as it settles it morphs and turns into blankets of stifling wet baby powder over that nice cherry scent. Sad turn of events.

This is sexy in a bottle! I love it. I love the mix of honey and amber. It is gorgeous. I feel that it has moderate throw and lasting power.

i love all of these notes, for the most part, though honey can sometimes be too sweet. not every honey is the same though, O was one of my early BPAL’s i tried and i have since learned that BPAL’s honey note often turns wonky on me. it makes me think of hay or straw. O smells like powdery hay to me. skin chemistry=fascinating.

This scent is wicked!!! I friggin love it much!
I’ve had mt sample for ages and never worn it so I think I’m lucky enough to have a really aged imp. All I can say is YUM! I love vanilla and amber anyway and love honey too in the right blends. This one? Works like a charm. This smells more like honeycomb than honey. It’s the same sort of honey that’s the lab’s in “Pink Phoenix”…oh my gosh this is yum.
It’s slightly similar to “Snake Oil” when it’s first applied but…sweeter with less spice, honey is there too.
As it dries it becomes so soft and lovely, and the whole thing just smells so divine! mmmmmm!!! I want to slather so much.
This is soft, sweet, foody but not too foody, slight exotic smelling oil which would be lovely to wear to bed or when you want to be snuggled.

When i tried it on for the first time, i admit it was tad too sweet for my taste and i usually tolerate sweet scents. I suddenly imagine massive amounts of honey drizzled here and there with amber. It was a rich scent all the way. I put the imp back and thought i’d gift to a girlfriend of mine, but i was hesitant because it was O and all the good love that it got from other BPALers, i just didn’t want to part with it yet.
Come late June 2012, i tried it on a summer night and OMG, i got those honey ambery clouds wafting around me and it was so delicious and surreal and all the summer heat around me amplified the smell and sensations. Sigh, but it’s still a tad too sweet…i kind of get embarrassed wearing overtly sweet scents, but O just begs to be worn unconditionally. What can i do?
