I had this when it first came out and hindsight being 20/20 I would have bought a back up or two. This is my kind of juice. When iris and violet are the stars how can you go wrong. I recently found a sealed cellophane and all bottle for no more than what I paid retail. I am happy. I know its nor groundbreaking but it is done to perfection. Not too light but not too heavy a good medium weight frag. And the Tonka adds a touch of vanilla sweetness.

I missed this when it was still on the shelves.. 🙁 Does anyone know if this is comparable to Iris Bleu Iris Blanc (L’Occitane’s newest release featuring Iris)?

As an Iris lover I have spent the last half a decade sampling and purchasing any and all Iris fragrances I can find. This one is one of my absolute favorites. On me I do not get the sweetness that some of you are smelling. I get something closer to Hermes Hiris (another fave of mine, as is Prada’s whole Infusion d’Iris line) though not quite as dark. The Violet and Galbanum are definitely there, lending the floral/powdery vibe of the former and the bitter and green vibe of the latter. When I want an Iris that is more vegital and damp than Infusion, but not quite as dark Hiris I reach for this. It lasts about 4 hours on me so I have to carry with me if I am wearing this for a whole day.
This fragrance is, and has been, one of my top three favorite scents ever. I had four back-up bottles tucked away, safe and dark…or so I thought. The garage, where basically my entire fragrance collection (back-ups of a few dozen of my favorites that have been discontinued and the 70 or so I am not wearing this month, I only have five out at a time…so five is what I am left with) was stashed in an old, extra refrigerator burnt down. I am quite devistated and trying very hard to focus on the fact that it wasn’t attached to the house and that the car wasn’t in it but…
Oof! Anyways, this is a plea to anyone who may have a bottle (or two) that they would be willing to sell at a fair price or even trade. There are very few bottles I have found online and @ auction it looks like $100 + to start biddimg on a half empty bottle and I just can’t swing that. Please message me if you are able to help.

To me, this is iris meets violets, and even though I see them both as “shy” flowers, this scent is delicate but not too shy.
The bottle itself is a beauty.
I really enjoy it – to my opinion, such a scent doesn’t need to be very complicated. It just needs to smell natural, clean and good. And it does.
Great choice for an everyday perfume, with fairly good longevity and a sillage that won’t make anyone too upset 🙂

To me and my daughters noses this frag smells exactley like the old fashioned parma violet sweets, so if you like the smell of them you will indeed love this. We bothh really like it, although it doesnt last long on the skin

This Iris is true, but has a cloying sweetness added rather than an earthy emphasis, which I prefer. It is quite expensive and there are better Iris scents out there now that Iris tincture is cheap, actually I even prefer Crabtree & Evelyns which is £13.00 online compared with £53.00 for this. Nice, but not quite nice enough.

Not a complex scent. Linear. Predictable. But pleasant. I see as a floral wood, not as a floral green. Floral sober: no romantic or dreamer. Sexy but discrete. A beautiful iris representative. I Confess.. I fell in love for your simplicity.

All the notes inside Notre Fleur Iris are true and loyal to the very flower.
    Elegant, soft and powdery. Beautiful!

I have no idea what papyrus is supposed to smell like. Tonka is what rounds out this Iris giving me a feeling of edible sweetness. I see that others are finding this to be dark and vegetal, I do not find it to be so, but I think that depends on how you feel about Iris itself.
This isn’t available currently through the L’Occitane store in the US, but I was able to get it from an Amazon seller.
ETA 12/2011 – looks like this has been reincarnated as just plain “Iris” on the L’Occitane USA website. Same notes but with the addition of pink pepper.

I had it and I finish the bottle. It is nice, but I now I think it is way too strong…

“Passionata20” had the same impression that I, for me, this perfume smells like Bvlagari “au blanc”.
    Good!

It is on sale at the moment in our local L´occitane shop so i thought i would try it since it is very inexpensive at the moment. When i tried it i liked it, it was so neutral, i even thought it might be one of the Bulgari´s tea scents (something in common with “Au the blanc”, but then it turned to very disturbing bitter fragrance and was very onesided for the rest time. It can be easily worn my men also, since it is not sweet but quite bitter i would say.
Lasting power about 4-5 hours on my skin
Not my fragrance at all sadly.
Please do not remove this comment, since others might find it useful. Not every review should be positive, so people like me wanted to make a blind buy might find it very informative. Thanks.

This is a creamy iris, pretty and light, rather romantic. I really like the papyrus in this, keeps it from smelling too flowery.

My first encounter with the wonderful world of perfumes was with my dear mother’s Rive Gauche. I was so young and I remember myself thinking how wonderful she smelled when she was dressed up. So since then, I was looking forward to grow up and wear it. However, now I am in my mid twenties and I just cannot bring myself to wear Rive Gauche but I have found the reason of my attraction for Rive Gauche. I think it was because I ADORE Iris notes in perfumes.
So it wasn’t a surprise to fall in love with this beautiful, purple bottle and the mysterious elixir in it. I have tried all the “Notre..” series of L’occitane without knowing their names and ingredients and I fell in love with this one.
Notre Flore Iris is a distinct and creamy iris scent. It is not cheerfully, playfully “girly” smell so not everyone would be attracted to it. People tend to love overly sweet and fruity fragrances these days. This is a different type: It is quite mysterious, not heavy but a little dark, respectful and very feminine. This is neither an old school “mature” scent nor a daily “teenager” scent.
ps: I think of the character that Eva Green played in the movie “Cracks” when I smell this..

Sevgiler…

I usually like Iris scents but this one was not for me. To me it almost had a rootsy, woodsy smell and very much powdery. It reminded me of digging up roots in garden. Sorry, I just couldn’t like this one!

Lifelike, powdery iris smell, very intense, maybe even a bit too much.

Not very lasting (compared to Notre Flore Neroli), the smell is powdery and dry. I liked it very much.
