Simply wonderful.. I’m a fan of cedar and all types of pine trees, never got a perfume has that remarkable scent of cedar wood.
The worst part is, I couldn’t find it in any store, if I knew it was going to be a limited edition, I would’ve bought more bottles. Does anyone know if there is anything similar? Or would L’Occitane launch it back? I wish.
One of my favorites.
Dears L’Occitane noses, please work on your perfumes intensity and longevity, you have a great collection of perfumes but usually I would always give it a second thought before buying any due to its short life on the skin, seriously guys, do something about it.

I am heartbroken this masterpiece was discontinued. This was the perfect blend of fresh citrus, pine, and wood. Marketed as a men’s fragrance but completely unisex-both myself and my husband wore this and it smelled amazing and unique on both of us. You would never know we were wearing the same scent.
*If anyone knows anything at all similar to this balance of crisp elements-please let me know! I’m hoping Jo Malone’s new Black Cedarwood and Juniper comes close. I have D & G Light Blue that contains a cedar note and I do enjoy wearing it but, it does not even compare to this wonder in all heaven and earth!
Just an FYI about a major CON I’ve experienced w/ L’Occitane perfumes: I’ve had several and noticed they seem to go bad before I can finish the bottle. I always buy directly from the store, I have tried buying from different store locations but, the same problem occurs. Is this because they use natural oils in their blends? I have no idea. The fragrances change drastically, in scent and color, and don’t last long after about 6 months to a year no matter how carefully I store them and protect them from direct sunlight, heat, etc. (Cedar was used to the last drop before this happened.) Does anyone else experience this? I still love their products, I just buy the smallest bottles since the shelf life seems limited.

I chased a woman through Macy’s to find out what this was. She had forgotten but gave me her phone number. Bi called her later to find it was this glorious scent. I went to pick it up and was sad that the sales lady said it was for men. I disagree! It’s easily unisex on the right girl. Super fresh and green with a strong cedar…it’s the bomb as far as pure woody fragrances. Sadly, I cannot tell if it smells as good on me as it Sidon her. But I can’t get over it so I wear it when I’m feeling super spirited! Excellent spillage and longevity. If you love cedar thesis a must have. B

I sprayed this on a tester card some years ago and liked it at the time, but my opinion became more negative after I bought it.
At first I found it to be fresh, green and uplifting, but for some reason, after a while, my nose began to focus in on a peculiar sharp note, like crushed pine needles soaked in cheap cologne. You can smell the alcohol, which seems to be an unwelcome feature in a lot of L’Occitane mens fragrances, at least to me. It also began to smell less fresh and took on a musty ‘old car freshner’ quality on the drydown.
So yeah, not recommending it.

very nice, fresh and uplifting scent. One of the most non linear scents I have encountered so far. It’s difficult to describe the individual notes but 24 hours after application my shirt smells of green florals. In the first hours of application I also get iris notes allthough not mentioned. Great scent, makes you smell things that are not there 🙂 Probably best in summer.

OK I’m back after a long time but just wanted to let you know how this perfume mixed with my husband . On me it is plain and flat but on my man it’s totaly next universe. If , after a splash of this mixture, I was wondering -oh my , he smells sooooo yummy? is it him or is he wearing something? – is this good for fragrance or not? I totally love this. It’s not over the top but it is there. It’s not screaming in your face – hey I’m there. It’s more like my husband is wearing this perfume not the perfume wearing him, if you know what I mean. Whenever he uses it I just find myself sniffing him and it’s very sensual. This maybe the first fragrance that I’m going to stock out just for my husband. At the end visual this: our house , late evening , hubby gets out from bathroom after all scrubing , passes my 2 year old , she turns around ,lifts her head and sniffs after him and says: momy, dady smells so gooood.
I’m totally his when he wears this ;))))) And whoever invented this fragrance gets big THANK YOU from me.

Cedar is marketed for men, but I am a lady and I wear it, love it and would recommend to all the ladies at least to try if it was not discontinued and pretty much sold out everywhere. I love L’Occitane, but I am bummed by their policy to discontinue so many of their great products despite of thousands of requests not to.
I didn’t love Cedar the first time I tried it on (it was a blind buy), it felt a little too masculine and I still think the opening is on the masculine side, but boy do I love the drydown. Cedar in it gives such comfort and warmness, yet it manages to stay fresh and uplifting. I know I might confuse cumin for cardamon, but I definitely get some cardamon after the opening. No blueberries in my bottle. Oddly enough it reminds me Dior Escale au Pondichery, they have different notes, but there is that cardamon note that makes me think of Dior EAP, but Cedar is far more interesting, longer living and more versatile, great year round.
I definitely need a spare bottle of Cedar, as I have feeling my husband and I will use current bottle up pretty fast. Off to Ebay…
Mag39 – :
On my skin it’s too plain.
Yes, a beautiful cedar at the beginning, but, like annik just said – this scent turns into something soapy and shampoo-ish. Quite interesting opening, but a really boring drydown.
And I usually find tonka not so good on my skin. So that would be another reason for me not to love this.
I like cedary scents on me in general, so that might be a reason, why I could find this unisex.
Overall – nothing too interesting for me…
chesar – :
Oh.. if only this perfume could stay as it opens up….I loooove the opening and the tree minutes after that. I feel cedar-I think- and this is the pure pleasure , not overpowering but strong and prominent note, green in a fresh kind of way . But then it fades away to some shampoo-like scent on me, musky like leaves covered with dust? I have to try it on my husband though maybe the experince will be different. For me it’s definetly not unisex, more masculine.
genana – :
It’s a unisex scent. Opens floral, then turns ambery woody and a little incensy. I get a little tabacco in the drydown too. Very safe scent.
banderlog007 – :
I too, didn’t realize this was a scent for men. However, I had already purchased it online for L’Occintane and I believe this scent can be unisex. It definitely is a fresh woodsy scent. For being a eau de perfume, it doesn’t last as long as I would expect. I have Neroli and Myrtle and they both have lasted all day. I will have my boyfriend try it and see how it smells on him. All and all, I like the scent, but it will not be my go-to scent.
pav7291 – :
It feels like being in a pond surrounded by a forest of cedar with the first sunrays after a light rain.
It’s a fresh, invigorating, linear and outdoorsy fragrance. Bittersweet magic – there’s a lot of cedar leaves, tobacco and grapefruit to balance it out.
inattfitembew – :
What is so nice about this simple perfume is the game between grapefruit, tobacco leaf and cedar.
For an “eau de parfum” I think it doesn’t last long, and the cedar element (that characterises the perfume and gives it its name) isn’t as artistically articulated as one would have hoped.
Definitely masculine, I don’t find it unisex at all!
madmax – :
I love cedar, so I too hoped this might work for me, but it’s too masculine for me. Nevertheless, it smells wonderful! It reminds me of Irish Spring soap…if the soap could be made in a sophisticated way. This cologne is zesty and clean, and the cedar is so beautiful, like when the wind carries the faint scent of trees in the air. I am really not a fan of citrus fragrances, so I love the fact that this is so fresh and crystal clear without having much citrus in it. The cedar tree, its bark, and its leaves completely shine. I would love to smell this on a man. I think a woman could wear it well too, just not me. But the more I sniff my wrist, the more I am changing my mind on that!
Djonia – :
I tried this hoping to like it for myself, as I love cedar, but I found this to be definitively masculine.
But how delicious this would be on a man!
It smells very warm because of the cedar and tonka, but has a spicy bite to it which keeps it interesting. Really really good.
6exhibitionsz – :
I have become recently what you would call a true L’Occident fan. I love their products but previously never considered their fragrances.
This one totally blew me away and I instantly bought a bottle of this wonderful forrest type of scent! It smells like a wet morning mist breeze on a late summer’s day, when the moist air hovers over the grounds picking up all those aromas and flavours errupting from the rich and ripe grounds. This fragrant infused wet air glides over a moss covered rock until a perky wind picks it up to bash it through the pine canopy of cedars until it splashes out onto your skin! AMAZING!
fakea2 – :
I agree with some of the previous reviews…I am a woman and I find this to be a completely unisex scent…like walking into a cedar-lined closet. I love this scent!!
Marrko – :
A very well-done, assertive, daytime, outdoorsy scent for a man.
himik3500 – :
Oh it is a great unisex scent, not strong, maybe because it is so oily. It is woody and pine needle like and fresh. Very coming and peaceful.
ghbdt25 – :
I’m a woman,but I do love this scent.IMO it’s unisex and multi-purpose.
Fresh, cool with a hint of sweetness.
I would put this bottle in my traveling bag, because it’s just perfect for any occasion, even for serious business or relax vacation. Noble like but also down to earth.
vitas1984 – :
bitter and spicy wood, I didn’t know it’s men’s fragrance, anyways, I like their Myrtle perfume more which is pure oxygen with plants
Soul – :
Nice! I think it’s a perfect men scent from L’Occitane. Noble, Accomplished and not overpowering.
eks15 – :
Fragrantica places this among the perfumes for men but I do love it in summer; something unlike the usual citrusy eaux de toilette. Not evanescent, not too strong, just perfect in a not too hot summer day. And I would also add very elegant and trés, trés chic
