Oud and tobacco does a great job together in Noctem Arabs. Initially the medicinal oud is a bit overwhelming, but after a few minutes a balance is established where oud and tobacco are supported by myrrh and patchouli.
The oud smells like the real stuff, but it is softened in a nice way by tobacco. Sillage is very moderate, and the drydown is a soft cedar-woody scent embeded in a musky/ambroxan ambience.
All in all Noctem Arabs is a wearable and enjoyable scent. Not very innovative, but great for days when you want to feel comfortable and friendly.

خانواده ی جدید
جای تعجب نخواهد بود اگه در آینده ای نه چندان دور بشنویم که در دسته بندی انواع عود؛کروه جدیدی بوجود اومده که نه تنها زیر مجموعه ی هیچ یک از انواع عود به شمار نمیره؛بلکه خودش یه خانواده ی مستقله و خیلی از عطر هایی که از عود استفاده کردن؛حالا هر نوع عودی؛رو شامل میشه.
اسم این شاخه ی جدید رو هم بذارن عود گوالتیری تا همه بتونن بخوبی تصور کنن که چه نوع فضایی داره این خانواده ی جدید!!
عود سینتیک،تنباکو،چرم و چوب در فضایی سبز،دودی و مبهم داستانی هست که بعد از تولد بلک افغانو و دورانی که عطر آقای گوالتیری بخاطر یگانگی و تفاوتی که داشت به موفقیت بزرگی رسید؛برندای بسیاری رو به دنبال خودش کشونده و موفقیت این عطر های دنباله رو موجب شد تا خیلیا به فکر ادامه ی این مسیر باشن؛ادامه دادنی که این عطر ها رو به جمعیت بزرگِ رو به رشدی تبدیل میکنه که بعیده به این زودی رشدشون متوقف شه.
Noctem Arabs با چهره ای انیمالیک و دارویی خودش رو معرفی میکنه؛اون هم با حاشیه ای ادویه ای و خاکی.حاشیه ای که خیلی زود جای خودش رو به ترکیبی تنباکویی،دودی و چوبی میده.بعد از ضعیف شدن جبهه ی انیمالیک-مدیسنیک؛عطر به سمت فضایی میره که لحظه به لحظه آشنا تر میشه:عود گوالتیری؛این بار با پس زمینه ای که وجه چوبی-تنباکویی اون برجسته تره؛در بستری دودی و تاریک و لمس خفیفی از نتهای سبز.
این داستان Noctem Arabs هست و هر چند در لحظاتی حالت صمغی و پودری کم رنگی پیدا میکنه اما همه چیز تحت سیطره ی فضای عودی تاریک قرار داره.
Noctem Arabs اگر چه فضایی آشنا داره اما از همین حالا میشه موفقیت اون رو پیش بینی کرد!موفقیتی که شاید اونو بالاتر از خیلی از رهروان مشهور و محبوب بلک افغانو قرار بده.اون هم بخاطر کیفیتی هست که به نظرم بسیار بالاتر از دیگر هم نوعانش در اون رعایت شده؛بعلاوه ی اضافه کردن یه سری دلبرانگی های ظریف به ترکیب که اصولا از مشخصه های برند گریتی هست.شاید این عطرو اگه یه برند دیگه میزد مشکلی نداشتم باهاش اما توقعم از گریتی خیلی بیشتر بود و انتقاد وارده!!
ماندگاری بالای 8 ساعت با پخشی که در دو ساعت اول قویه و بعدش کاملا متوسط میشه.

Ghastly beyond belief…
While the topnotes are deceptively pleasant, there is a strong, and to my nose, intensely unpleasant sweaty/ambroxan odour that ruins the wearing experience lying beneath them.
This was a scrubber for me as I found the odour viscerally repellant – I have never experienced anything quite like it before.
The oud element, on the other hand, is fairly understated and pleasant.
This is a nice fragrance, if it wasn’t for that one terrifying note!

A gentlemen that I was sitting next to in a business meeting had a very nice scent; not over powering. I liked it and asked him what he was wearing. He actually had the bottle of Gritti Noctem Arabs in his briefcase. I am trying to locate this wonderful Italian cologne in the USA. Please tell me how I can purchase it.

What’s up with the Dr.- thing? This brand is not named after the Gritti Palace in Venice? Oh my bad, then. It might explain a lot as I expected better. I ordered some samples and this one has an overwhelming Oud note of the kind I don’t really appreciate. To be honest I don’t smell much else. Omnipresent, sharp Oud. Not for me.
