Description

Chopard launches a new fragrance for men, Noble Vetiver, to mark the 150th anniversary of this house. The fragrance represents timeless elegance and precision of the house and it aims at men who share their passion for high quality and beautiful things.

Chopard Noble Vetiver was created by perfumer Lucas Sieuzac, who was based on woody-spicy-leathery aromas. Top notes immediately await you with elegant vetiver, accompanied by accords of bergamot, cardamom and red hot pepper. A base intertwines clary sage and mahogany leaving an impression of freshness and sophistication, while a base incorporates a luxurious trail of Barenia leather and golden tobacco.

Noble Vetiver is available as 30, 50 and 80ml EDT, accompanied by 75 ml deodorant stick.
Noble Vetiver was launched in 2010.

The cap is attention-getting as it looks like an expensive metal watch band, most likely referring to the house’s experience in jewelry.
A nice citrusy vetiver with some pepper , a hint of leather, and woods to make things interesting. Vetiver is not the dominant player however, but it does play well with the other ingredients. Has good longevity with decent sillage. Not a bomb, but not a weakling either.
There is something about this that reminds me of another fragrance…but I can’t put my finger on it. It does remind me of Guerlain’s Vetiver but without the licorice note, and more woods. I think this has some Iso-E Super too.
Above average scent…this is staying in my collection!

I was searching for a mature manly scent, vetiver based, just to smell like my grandpa after the barbershop. No, I’m not kidding, in my mind it was a really comforting scent, and I wanted to take with me that reassuring, mature aura, now that I’m almost 40.
And this is my best candidate for now.
Projection is almost non existent, at least in this cold weather, but, if you don’t care too much about that, the scent is really nice, classic, masculine, clean, fresh, work safe. If it’s what you’re after, try his one.
    Or just visit a barbershop.

Chopard’s Noble Vetiver is another vetiver based scent, but sadly this fragrance is not bringing anything new to scents of this genre. The opening is fresh and shimmery with a vetiver, cardamom and citrus opening that is definitely earthy and sweet. The chili provides a spicy note that plays off well with the cardamom to tame the vetiver. The sage and a hint of mahogany peek through in the mid giving the scent a woody element, and prepping the arrival of the tobacco and leather. The dry down is pretty simple and basic with a mellow leather, tobacco accord, giving this scent a slight masculine edge. This fragrance overall is well blended and a very clean vetiver scent. It smells modern and would be perfect for office settings. It is soapy, it is very wearer friendly if you will, but it is not too groundbreaking, nor is it a performer. There are a lot of vetiver scents to choose from, this one is a good one, but not the best. Work frag, spring rotation, third or fourth string.

I’m fan of vetiver basic fragrances. This’s very succesful one. It’s very close to Burberry The Beat.

A beautiful and profound vetiver with many extras! A frequent in my rotation, for business or the more formal events rather than seductive intentions or the more easy going (summer/beach) scents.
I bought a second bottle immediately after receiving the first. This is now a backbone of my everyday work fragrances.
A really noble, heavy-duty bottle, very classy… at an absolutely working-class price!

Fresh, spicy, soapy, leathery goodness!!! Beautiful vetiver fragrance! Has a similarity with Tom Ford’s Grey Vetiver. 8/10

An engagingly woodsy-vetivery piquant cologne that is redolent of Tom Ford’s “Grey Vetiver” (chill until the dry down first)! It may interest you to know that “Noble Vetiver” came out a year after Tom Ford’s take on a Vetiver-based cologne (in 2009)! My only qualm is its longevity. That’s excusable as it’s being concentrated as EDT. Nice one, Chopard!

Sorta like Tommy Ford’s G. Vetiver, innocuous. Though I do get a lot more sillage and life out of T. Ford’s Vetiver.
If sillage and longevity was a higher priority to me then this might get a dislike rating.
Noble Vetiver, to me, has a distinct pepper note. The pepper makes it spicey and of course the vetiver is up front with the leather somewhere in the background.
Some folks may compare it to Atelier’s Vetiver Fatal but Fatal is a bit more velvety or smooth and not so spicy to me.
Noble’s downfall is the short life span and short projection. You’re gonna have to go heavy on the spraying.

    Very Very nice Vetiver!
Citrusy leathery tone, really completes this scent, I find this lasts a while and projects okay on my skin.
Very clean and fresh, quality frag and great price!

a citrusy , light vetiver . Nothing offending , just casual . I prefer more extravagant vetivers like “Route du Vetiver” or “Encre Noire” . This one is a clear , a clean one . Not a thumb up..not a thumb down …Very nice bottle

Last week I sampled Tom Ford Grey Vetiver but opted to make a blind purchase of Chopard Noble Vetiver, big mistake.
Yes, vetiver it certainly smells like, so long as you are within a few inches of its application. After ten minutes I couldn’t smell this and neither could anybody else. Perhaps I have been unlucky and duped with old stock, but I’d be suprised if that’s the reason.
It matters not how cheap you can purchase this for, save your money and invest elsewhere.

  19. :

Seriously, one of the best vetiver fragrances around. The leather note makes it slightly better than Tom Ford’s Grey vetiver. Brilliant juice!

I blind bought this fragrance based on the reviews here and because is a big name brand for very expensive watches and jewelry, so I got to say so far not disappointed. too bad we can’t wear the bottle which is beautiful very high class and not cheap at all, real metal on in.
Now going back to the essence I think is very little resemblance to the Vetiver from Guerlain that I wore long time ago and stopped wearing since at some point it seemed to me like a fragrance for men over 60, and I am still in my forties.. ;-), anyhow they are totally two different concepts, I find this one more modern and easier to wear, much more discrete and subtle. Now it’s been almost 8 hrs. since I put it on and I can smell the fragrance lingering around me like an aura of a very masculine essence, but I don’t think it has a such a great projection since I didn’t get any compliments today but I’m complementing it my self, but I am still getting to know it, and this is a good start. I will make an update on my second wear.

What a stunningly refreshing fragrance! Bought this as a blind buy from Perfume-Click and I simply cannot describe the vibrancy of the vetiver in this, it’s just beautiful. A very classy and mature fragrance with an almost zesty touch, which all blends perfectly with the vetiver. Good for crisp mornings or casual office wear, even formal meetings or drinks. Very forgiving if applied heavily, which in my opinion is great as it means that you only need apply an extra spray or two if you wish to project the vetiver a little more. Definitely a modern classic to be, very good value for money and bursting with vetiver!

This is really a nice and noble scent. It reminds me of Borsalino Intense, but isn’t that heavy, it’s more charming and less overpowering than Borsalino Cologne Intense, it’s (like I said before) just NOBLE. 🙂

First time I find myself saying this, I prefer it to Guerlain’s Vetiver in every aspect, woody, leathery and beautiful Vetiver, it is stunning I love it. Lasts very well on my skin. The bottle though is utterly beautiful, don’t think I have a nicer one in my collection, so heavy and wonderfully made. SUPERB!! I will be stocking up.

Bought it for 20 bucks and I’m really satisfied. Starts with a classy spicy smell mixed with lavender that settles down quickly and becomes a subtle vetivery fragrance. Close to the skin, you can pull the trigger and spray more than usual. You won’t suffocate anyone, trust me! For those who intend to buy it blind, I must say NV is David Beckham’s Instinct rich cousin: less in your face, more gentle, better blended, less sweet. It’s not earthy but I can smell vetiver easily, so I understand perfectly when people detect a “plastic” smell in its composition. By the way, the bottle is a piece of art and gives it a niche look!

  26. :

Boy! You can bath in it yet it won’t hurt your nose or even become cloying. Furthermore this fragrance is so soft and weak that you can use up an 80ml bottle within 2 weeks!
Maybe it’s due to its contcentration or the fixation, I don’t know but after spraying several times it’s barely detecable, doesn’t project.
And it’s anything but complex, very very simple. Nice, but nothing special. No wonder it doesn’t sell well. I bought mine suprisingly cheap, now I understand the price.
For such a scent and performance you can buy cheap deodorant which smells nice but cheaper than this.
    Disappointment.
    The bottle is nice though.

    UPDATE:
After owning this for a couple of years, I have to say that I still enjoy wearing it from time to time. But I find it wears like a cologne. A “whisper of vetiver”. Extremely office safe and approachable. It’s always nice to have a fragrance like that, especially if you didn’t pay much for it.
    _______________________________________________________
This is a very nice and competent light vetiver. And I agree it has a much more modern vibe to it than a classic like Guerlain Vetiver. A little bit peppery at first. I also pick up on some bergamot, tobacco, and sweet clary sage. There’s also a cedar wood note that comes across for me. Very pleasant balance of notes. Not the best vetiver around, but very worthwhile for the price. If only it would stick around longer. And sadly, sillage seems to be rather close after 30 mins. Still, one could carry a portable atomizer to freshen up later in the day.
I have point out that the bottle is gorgeous, appropriate for fragrances costing 4 times as much. It is VERY well made. The cap isn’t metal coated plastic, but actually has a thick brushed metal shell with plastic insert, to snugly fit around the sprayer. The glass work on the bottle is nice. The sprayer is a bit on the generous side, but that’s fine given the concentration of the fragrance. I just wish there was some way to re-use the bottle, but the metal collar around the sprayer seems to be crimped on.
Longevity is not terrific, but all you need do is layer. And I’ve also found it works well layered with Encre Noire.
Would I recommend it? Yes, if you can get it for a fair price. FragranceNet once had a boat load of testers you could nab for just under $18 with the coupon–a great item to add to your order to get it over $59 for free shipping. It’s a different market now, and prices have gone up. I wouldn’t pay more than $30 for a 2.5oz bottle.
    Fragrance 8.5/10, Longevity: 6/10, Value: 9.5/10

OK, I will admit that I am not a vetiver lover. Vetiver rubs me the wrong way.
My first try at vetiver was with Guerlain’s offering. To me/on me, it smells like cheap plastic. So I stayed away from vetiver for a long time.
Then I discovered Lalique’s Encre Noire. I loved it and I also fell in love with Prada’s Infusion de Vetiver, Kenzo Boisée and, finally, I came back to Guerlain and I can now appreciate it.
On me, Noble Vetiver opens with a citrus-vetiver screech. The bergamot smells artificial and loud. Fortunately, the notes change fairly quickly and Noble Vetiver turns into a peppery-vetiver. I really enjoy that phase. Unfortunately, that “cheap plastic” note comes out of nowhere, reminding me that vetiver and I have a love/hate relationship.

Noble Vetiver is a modern vetiver.
Fresh somehow invigorating also, the citrus opens but also spicy, the bergamot reconciled to a slight touch of pepper and a little spicy.
In the heart, this sage citrus scent invigorates, strengthens and appears a slight cloud over ice and semi-herbal, almost making a fougere tone.
I feel something together like a tobacco before the vetiver, which subsequently enters the base, and is a nice vetiver, earthy, but not as far overshadows all fresh spicy aroma before, only compliments. In the line of Grey Vetiver but with itself scent and without the green touch, which we are accustomed, gorgeous bottle and still a nice price.

theres no vetiver here to speak of, only tobacco leather and pepper and very light at that, wears more like a cologne. nice enough and great bottle and concept but like its sibling noble cedar, somehow missed the mark

Very nice, elegant, modern scent. It’s like something between Terre, Beckham Homme and Fahrenheit. I didn’t detect vetiver, but I’m not vetiver fan anyway. The longevity is good, and the bottle is a piece of art. I bought it very cheap, so I’m really happy with my Chopard Noble Vetiver without vetiver 🙂

    4. smells not cheap, not synthetic , smells after good quality

I went for “Grey Vetiver Tom Ford” and I returned home with this brilliant “Noble Vetiver”!
It’s like great whole house of vetiver with modern & harmonic decoration of cardamom, bergamot, pepper, tobacco, and many other subtle ingredients.
It’s mature and sophisticated enough. Highly recommended to vetiver lovers.
Projection and longevity are also good.

I have been buying and using perfumes for a really long time- 18 years to be precise. I select and buy for my self and others ( age, sex, occasion, outfit are tbe factors that I usually consder while deciding to buy something.
So that covers all the major notes/tones from chypre to floral, spice, aqua, fruit, leather tobacco etc.
I do a lot of research on the opening, middle and base notes of a perfume. Now this is where Chopard vetiver has me stumped.
It is on the expensive side and the longivity of this scent is quite questionable.
Spite of all the jazz and accentuations — THis perfume opens up on a very strong orange and pepper note. Orange is unmistable . Pepper subtle.
Finding the vetiver and clary sage needs imagination really. Without vetiver I’d say it looses out quite a bit. There is a hint of aqua in the middle that reminds me of Signature by Kenneth.Cole.
The bottom notes are a very mild woodsy sort of dryout.
It is not a bad scent. I find it classy and warm, but not unique in anyway. However the longivity and strength is quite questionable. The end product is rather mild and very close to the skin. U end up wondering where did it all go spote of liberal application on the skin-at the right points.
Verdict? I’d give it 6 on a scale of 10. If U R a primary user of the old school leather, chypre, tobacco, musk, resin notes- THis might be a new something on the ultra light side– Then again, Boss by Hugo Boss or Signature by Kenneth Cole would be a better bet in terms of silliage.

I only have a handful samples of this. In a nutshell, this is not like the old time classic Vetiver by Guerlain nor Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford. It’s much more approachable kind of vetiver for those who are not really into it. The vetiver is, of course, the main star, but it doesn’t come on strong and bitter green grassy. It smells very woody with a very elegant smokey tobacco and leather. Furthermore, it is not spicy enough for me to consider this a spicy scent. Instead, it’s just a nice peppery tone in this, and it provides a nice balance of cool/warm feeling. And there is nothing musky here (that’s the first for me). As for as projection or silage, I find it rather mediocre at best. Maybe today isn’t the day to test it, but I can still smell it subtly after 6 hours.
Chopard Noble Vetiver is a modern take on vetiver. It is a fragrance for a grownup, and it’s a great one to introduce someone who is new to Vetiver. It’s suitable all year round, but I probably prefer it for a cool evening day.

So I am writing a review about Noble vetiver. I tested it today and would say that it’s a must for all vetiver lovers.
As I am from the region where natural perfumes are a first choice of people so from that experience can say that Chopard has done a great job on the vetiver note. Few months back, I tested vetiver oil which was 100% pure according to the seller and today I tested Noble Vetiver and it’e exactly semlls that vetiver oil.
Smelling vetiver alone is not that great and in my opinion it is best enjoyed with citrus and that’s what Chopard has done, absolutely Great!
It starts off like a combination of citrus+vetiver and this becomes more prominent in the heart. This citrus+vetiver note stays for about 3-4 hours on the skin and then it’s all vetiver and a bit of a hint of tobaco but very light I would say. I wasn’t very pleased with the dry down and my be it’s due to my female nose that can’t handle so much vetiver. But on the whole I would say men would love it and especially if they are vetiver lovers. Go for it!
Sillage good, longevity will never be an issue for sure.

One of the best launches of 2010 for men. Unlike other modern woody-fresh masculines, this one is the bright, juicy floral vetiver with a hint of tobacco and leather at the base. Longevity is excellent. Most of the vetiver perfumes (Vetiver ph Guerlain, Vetiver Etro etc) give a feeling of old vintage perfume, but Noble Vetiver is very modern, crispy and really noble one. Full bottle worthy for me.

Tried this one today and was highly impressed. It’s not a vetiver bomb, this is woody oriental scent. It starts in the woody way of, for example, cdg wonderwood. The drydown is herbal and peppery like in the kenzo boisee and vetivery, but still with an oriental woody aura. The longevity is good.
