A beautiful sugared pink grapefruit scent, lying on a base of Birch and vetiver. This is a dashing perfume. It is clean and fresh without being soapy, sweet without being cloying. This scent has an assured personality-masterfully blended and composed. Really is a joy to wear.

    Incredible smell. AMAZING!!!
Absolutely natural grapefruit with a touch of spices and green apple.
Nothing feel synthetic here. Very modern, well made and very original and different.
If you like citrus-fresh fragances, this is a must try.
The bad: Longevity is good (more than 5-6 hours) but sillage is close to the skin after the first hour. 🙁

A unique citrus based scent, one that separates itself from the traditional eau de cologne formulae by its modern composition. Bright and cheerful pink grapefruit (along with a classic bergamot now in a supporting stance) opens this fragrant rendering on a positive note. Japanese shiso leaf which carries an herbal accord (mint, basil and vegetal) is masterfully accompanied by a gentle pink peppercorn note, which plays well off the slight peppery quality of the shiso. Heliotrope, vetiver, and birch leaf seem to soften what could have been an overwhelmingly citrus scent, creating a somewhat colder and drier tone. A very faint sourness is noted, I believe thanks to a green apple note. It is no wonder why this fragrance garnered a FIFI 2013 award nomination for Best Niche/Indie Fragrance. “Eau de Hiver” captures the paradoxical sensation of warming sunlight on the skin in winter; cold yet warm, stark yet pleasant, austere yet comforting. This fragrance is very juicy grapefruit when you first put it on, and the juicyness lasts for awhile and then it starts to dry down and I really mean dry. The vetivter and woody notes and the pepper make me want to chug water! The dry down smells very nice but it smells so drying that if actually makes me want to take a drink. The grapefruit scent is still there but it has lost its juciyness. It is very interesting. I do like it and I think it can be worn easily by both men and women. I guess this is the “cold” wintery effect that the fragrance evokes.

    2013 FIFI Top 5:
Woah, I just got squirted in the eye/nose with grapefruit, oh wait, it’s just 30 Eau d’Hiver. But hold on a minute, it’s calming down into a powdery pepper – the heliotrope showing itself I suppose. The bergamot comes through after the grapefruit, making it a bit more refined than straight citrus – the heart of the scent I believe. And it includes just a tiny bit of creamy sweetness, reminiscent of milk or rice scents. I know this sounds like a combo that wouldn’t work, but it lends a complex accord that is just wonderful
The way this smells on me, I don’t think it seems masculine, but I can imagine men enjoying it as well – but a younger guy – a little too edgy for the older crowd. This scent is different, nothing cliche about it. It smells nothing like the fragrance counter you typically expect.
As with the other Le Cherche I’ve tried (01 Nantucket) it smells very high quality, nothing chemical or plastic about it.
Longevity: Six hours later, it’s faint, but I can still smell shadows of this scent. All in all, I love it.
