Description

The Princess fragrance collection from designer Vera Wang is expanded by a new limited edition in 2015. Hippie Princess is inspired by bohemian style, colorful prints, flowers in the hair and a free spirit.

This exotic floral-fruity fragrance is designed for the happy, brave and carefree woman. The composition begins with a mixture of red mango, apple blossom and white freesia. Lotus, jasmine and apricot nectar form the heart of the perfume, laid on the base of blonde woods, vanilla and pink musk.

It is available as 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

The nose behind this fragrance is Gil Clavien.

Sweet and pretty fruity floral. It does smell summery to me. It reminds me slightly of Viva La Juicy. Nothing unique or incredible but a safe scent when you want to smell nice. I wouldn’t say it is teenagers only, I think any age can wear this easily. Safe blind buy and could be good as an office scent. Overall a like from me.

One of my favorite from the Princess line, very fruity/florally sweet and girly, but absolutely NOT childish. It makes me smile anytime I wear it and I don’t care (if) some people think that it is “too” sweet…Well, not on me 🙂
This one smells delicious and works so well with my body temp and pH. It has a cozy vibe to it in the end which I also like.
It should be named “Princess Power”, or “Princess Revolution”, or “Glam Princess”, or “Princess of Hearts”…instead of “Hippie Princess” 🙂 When I read its name, I thought of patchouli and herbal scents, never thought of yummy fruity, floral notes at all 🙂
To Ageletou: the mango and apricot notes in here are sweet but don’t have the “green”, “bitter” sweet vibe as found in guava. Their sweetness are totally different from each other. Its longevity is better than Glam and Preppy (Preppy’s longevity is the worst out of three of them).

I would like to kindly ask any member of the club a question regarding this fragrance. I never had the chance to try this fragrance since I can not find it in my country (Greece) but I would like to kindly ask if the mango note smells like or has similarities with the guava note. In the past I had blindly bought love & glamour by JLO and I had badly regret it because there was a note that I could not stand and I assumed it was due to the guava note (with a sour smell), a totally unknown note/smell for me which made the fragrance totally unbearable. Generally speaking I would like to kindly ask any member, if this fragrance has any similarities with any other fragrance (the relevant column, this perfume reminds me of……..is blank) or if it has any other resemblance with another princess. Furthermore I would like to kindly ask about its duration and quality (because from my experience of princess classic, princess glam, and princess preppy I was not really thrilled…..). I would like to kindly thank you for you time, your patience and help.
    Yours,
    Hara

So I’m giving this a second review now that I purchased this. Found it for 19.99 last night…woohoo!! I will again say undeniably this is nothing hippie. Nothing even remotely hippie which I’m okay with because I god damn love this. I typically prefer aquatics and fresh scents but this is so nice. Love love love

Love this fragrance. Sampled it at Kohl’s and had to return the next day to purchase it. It’s a nice fruity-sweet scent that reminds me of Simply Pink. Yummy!

After only recently discovering Vera Wang Perfumes, I have been working my way through the Princess Range (I’ve tried original Princess, Princess Night and Preppy Princess) So I thought I’d try Hippie Princess.
Immediately for me I’m hit with Apricot/Peach/Mango scents, it reminds me of summer and the beach. I love fruity perfumes, so for me this is heaven. I also notice some light florals which compliment it greatly. I can’t notice the original Princess in this one that much though.
I really like this perfume, however after an hour and half I’m having to spray more because I’m left with only a faint scent, which is slightly disappointing but doesn’t take away the fact that it smells so goooood!

This perfume is super fruity. If you like fruity perfume, you will love this. Plus, the bottle is so adorable. I’m sad this perfume is discontinued. I had to order my bottle from Europe because it isn’t sold in America anymore (at least, I can’t find it anywhere).
There is a downside to this perfume. I feel like once I spray it on me (and I am spraying 5-7 squirts), I cannot smell it an hour later. It fades so quickly. Because of this, I have to carry the perfume with me and apply it pretty frequently. However, I would still buy this perfume again if I am ever able to find it. That’s how much I love it!
    Would I recommend this? YES!

Opening spray begins with a lovely smell of Fresh mangoes, then as the perfume dries down the mangoes becomes very sugary and synthetic. Too sweet for me!

I am way too old for this but I absolutely love it. It reminds me of Ed Hardy when it dries on my skin just a creamy, mango smell very soft. I suspect it will be boring for others.
It does not project very well. I noticed wafts of it through the day just when I thought it had faded but it is very weak I need to re-spray quite a bit.
It does smell ever so slightly of the original princess more the musk that can be found in all the princess range comes out a little in this but I do like it.

Name is Slightly misleading, when I think hippy I automatically think patchouli. None here folks.
I’d say this is an Aristocrat/princess Playing at being a hippy.
This is My first Vera Wang Perfume.
Outback Australian Winter skips Spring and goes straight to Summer and this little beauty has hit the shops here at just the right time.
This is Summer in a bottle, Mangoes and Apricots when the skins are hot from the sun, there’s too many on the tree and there all over the grass.
Some blossom but it’s fleeting. This is predominately a fruity smell.
This is a good gift to give in Spring or summer as it suits the season perfectly.
    Scent 6.5 / 10
    Bottle 5 / 10

lovely fragrance but doesn’t last long, due to that I prefer the classic Princess… however it’s still worth to try 🙂

Hippie Princess is super fruity and sugary sweet. When I first smelt this fragrance I could have sworn that I was smelling passionfruit, however re-visiting the scent pyramid it’s possibly the mango note that is standing out the most to my nose. Either way, this is a tropical, fruity kind of fragrance.
Hippie Princess is actually quite far removed from other Vera Wang scents. In a blind testing you’d be forgiven for thinking that Hippie Princess was an Escada Limited Edition Summer release.
It’s not my kind of fragrance unfortunately, but that’s not to say that others won’t enjoy it. Hippie Princess is intended for the younger market, as is a majority of the Princess range. In my mid 20’s I’m just outside of that age bracket, the kind of individual that seeks less juvenile smelling scents to add to my wardrobe.
Hippie Princess is a light, fun-filled scent with loads of sugary fruits and sweet, fluffy vanilla. It’s all rainbows and fairy floss, (essentially all things ‘girly’). I would recommend this fragrance for young teenage girls, perhaps those just starting out wearing perfume. The sweetness is not too overbearing so for that reason I think it’s safe to say that it’s inoffensive.
Hippie Princess is an odd choice of name. There’s no patchouli oil for this Hippie Princess and maybe that’s to its advantage.

Very tropical sweet and fun. A nice summer scent. I do find the apricot jumps out a little harshly on my skin at first but once it dries down it improves. I do agree with what others have said about the hippie correlation being questionable. I too think Patchouli or sandalwood would be more “hippie”. They aren’t the same but if you like this you should try Britney’s Island Fantasy.

I got a chance to smell this today! I must say, this is the total opposite of what hippies want to smell like or do smell like. When you think of hippies, you think of patchouli, woody, earthy type notes. This is a fruit explosion, don’t get me wrong , I absolutely love it. It’s a fruity masterpiece, but it is so far fetched from its name that I have to wonder if they either have no idea what hippies are like, or if they don’t are, OR did they put the wrong smell in the wrong bottle!?!? I would for sure buy this and wear it, but if I was asked what scent I was wearing I think I would have to lie, because no one would believe this would have anything to do with anything hippie!

Smelled this at Ulta and all I got was mangos…disappointing since I love both Princess and Flower Princess a lot

Why oh why isn’t this an EDP? Upon the initial opening, I get the most deliciously sweet candied fruits, but within five minutes this has turned into a cotton candy skin scent that is completely gone within an hour. I understand it’s an EDT, but I have cheap body sprays from Wal-Mart that last longer than this! Very disappointing and the second time this has happened with a Vera Wang scent (the other being Princess Power that I also liked, but passed on due to lack of sillage and staying power).

I was bought this perfume as a gift and it is my new favourite summer scent.
Hippie Princess is very fruity, warm and sweet. I get a beachy tropical vibe from it. The most prominent notes I can smell are mango, apricot, vanilla, apple blossom & a hint of musk & wood. The lasting power on my skin is pretty weak, about 2 hours however I absolutely love Hippie Princess so I don’t mind reapplying.
Overall, another beautiful feminine fragrance by Vera Wang. A gorgeous everyday scent that is perfect for hot summers. If you like sweet tropical & fruity scents, I recommended this one.

I recently purchased a bottle of this & this fragrance is definitely not a hippie scent. So not sure why it was named that. It’s a very fruity scent, and I can really smell the mango. When I first sprayed it, I wasn’t sure what the perfume notes were. But, I instantly said that it smells like mango. It’s a nice scent, but if your looking for a super unique scent, then this isn’t for you! I would say the 2 main notes are mango & apricot nectar. If you like fruity scents, then this is worth a try.

This is summer in a bottle. It’s a beautiful fruity scent, just enough sweetness, with a soft dry down. And for £25 50ml and a free tote bag, psshhhh it’s a bargain !!! Vera wang you have done it again <3

Personally I love these brightly coloured bottles and I did once write down all the various notes in flankers and they all have their differences but all sound lovely to me, this is no exception.
Cannot wait to see this available in shops in the UK.
This fragrance sounds like it would fit into my collection lovely and why cannot there be another ‘Princess’ in the Princess range? How many different types of Barbie are there when, essentially, they could have just produced different outfits and wigs for Barbie with a generic Ken? (I think there was a Hippie Barbie wasn’t there?)
… The notes sounds perfect to me, and maybe Vera Wang was trying to make a statement … maybe not all Hippie Women liked wearing Patch – this does sound like something my mum would have worn at that time and she considered herself a Weekend Hippie …. lol!
EDIT: Just seen this on the Boots Website with a Free Bag, I wish I could get it!
