Smells like the dry-down of Black Orchid when you get past the animalic tuber note… that creamy sweet incense seducing patchouli with added soft coffee tones
I believe any gourmand heavy scent is going to be compared to Angel, A Men, Black Orchid, le vie est Belle

Bond No. 9 New York Nights, a 2017 release, is one of the house’s more recent and deliberate attempts at a nearly full-on gourmand scent.
Coffee and caramel are the named base notes but seem to take over the fragrance almost entirely within a half hour of applying, and it’s those that provide the little bass that the fragrance offers as far as sweetness, which is, to my nose, very much tip-of-the-tongue, borderline sickeningly sweet.
The sharpness of the opening florals and patchouli does not help ground the fragrance at all, so the experience feels very top-heavy, overall. Even at the discounted $180 for 100ml pricing on FragranceNet, New York Nights feels scarcely worthwhile relative to the other, less expensive but much better gourmands of New Haarlem and I Love New York For All.
Overall, a like, not a love, and not at all a bad entry as gourmands go, but too much jelly and not enough toast.

This is a gourmand scent, a lovely one… It’s the caramel, and maybe there’s some sugar too, because for me, I really want to eat something that smells like this. The scent always reminds me of Japanese Caramel Candy made by Morinaga, and it’s making me hungry.
This delicious treat sadly doesn’t project very big, and it’s not a beast like other Bond fragrances.

Ive been looking for reviews and videos on this frag but no one is really talking about it…so im going to give my honest opinion…
First thing I think of is banana pudding or some sort of desert along those lines…its sweet and smooth…lasts long but doesnt project like crazy…this is straight up and down Unisex for night time only…as a man i love this juice. Wife does as well…so this will be a frag we can share.

The more I smell Bond No 9 the more I realize I think the only redeemable thing about this brand is their more gourmand scents, including this.
I thought it smelled delicious,it’s basically a sweet creamy coffee with caramel.
I’d love a bottle of this- even more than New Haarlem (i see it more as a gimmick scent than something to wear everyday)
I am making this review through a paper test, so I’m not sure about how it is when it’s being worn for a prolonged period of time or anything like that.

I’m a new fan of the Bond NO 9 perfume saga. I read the notes but, let me sniff this blindly. I smell something rich deep and sweet. A bold gourmand a tad bit salty ith a burst of strong coffee beans .I can image dark windy nights the air fresh sipping a hot cappuccino. I see fresh water silent waves sending fresh water in the air. The scent is warm and sensual but, fresh at the same time. I’m in love it’s different maybe a nice drink on the the New York streets at the bar at the end of the corner. I smell Kahula Mudslide ..This makes me tipsy and fliry quiet yet seductive. I’m dreaming

    Totally weird.
To me, it’s like one of those Indian sweet semolina milky dessert, but ‘gone wrong’ – aka- someones added a tonload of caramel to it, some brown sugar and tossed in a few lilys in there. Huh??!????
Super-dessert sweet, at 1st intriguing and crazy but then you put it aside and just say this is just concept; not a mature, signature scent for wearing.
Just look at Kilians Love for how to do that; sorry but Bond No9 is a total sham of a house for me, none of their ‘major notes’ on lists stand out and the blending is nigh on terrible.
    My rating: 3/10

Crazy buy for me! The price is steep but I couldn’t help it. Layers well with sunny side up by Juliette Has A Gun. It reminds me of banofee pie… or at least the banana part… like banana milkshake with a lot of warmth (woody, vanilla, toffee, caramel, tonka beans… etc.) it’s an odd one but I just fell in love with it.

Some people just hate on frags for no reason like certain football teams they may not like. When reviewing we should keep it real. If you haven’t smelled the fragrance or worn it you should keep your freaking mouth shut. Now here qe go. A fresh unisex gourmand is what we have here. Yes it is full bottle worthy. People who buy niche frags shouldn’t complain about price. You get what you pay for. This smells awesome and is good quality. Im in

This comment goes out to the person who keeps associating a lot of fragrances with the Spongebob Squarepants cologne line… I respect the trolling and find it funny, but at least get the notes right #Please #MuhFrag.

Reputable fragrance houses stand behind their product by offering a “satisfaction guaranteed” policy. Sadly, Bond No. 9 is not a reputable fragrance house.
Because I own several of their fragrances, they frequently send me samples. After sampling their newest release, “New York Nights,” I ordered a full-sized bottle, the contents of which did not compare to the contents of the sample in terms of quality…zero longevity/sillage. When I called the company to share my observation/concern, they informed me that they had never heard this complaint and that they offer are zero refunds. They did, however, offer to exchange my defective bottle for a new one which they did. (The new bottle is just as defective – zero longevity/sillage – as the first.)
I recently saw on Instagram that a few other customers shared in my dismay over this fragrance’s lack of staying power. Apparently, mine was not, in fact, the only complaint. In response, I also commented that it has “zero longevity/sillage.” Imagine my surprise when I saw shortly after that Bond No. 9 had blocked me from their Instagram account. What type of reputable fragrance house does that? Oh, I forgot…Bond No. 9 is not a reputable fragrance house. It’s a scam. At least now we know why they have so many positive reviews…because they delete the negative comments.

Here we go: yet another preposterous product with a pretentious title from a ‘cocky’ brand, that is still somewhat stuck in their post 9/11 Noughties naïve start-up stage by simply pressing a “shuffle function programme” on what ingredients to match with pretty much ANYTHING, then press “execute” and you have a new product.
While it is true that their concoctions have a very high content of essential perfume oils, many are very synthetic and seem unnecessarily amplified as if shouted at you via megaphone, but to my European snob perfumery nose, they smell just loud (for the most part).
This one is no exception. To me it resembles Banoffee Pie (very popular early 2000s dessert here in London) that is made from (salted) toffee with chocolate and banana.
This scent could easily be called “Banoffee Twin Tower Explosion” for it smells so potent as if both towers were made entirely of Banoffee Pie and came down during the controlled demolition, contaminating the entire city with gourmand and edible Banoffee pie scent instead of cancerous asbestos.
I know which one I had preferred on the said sad day back in the day, but I still don’t wanna wear it!
But if you love gourmandy weird and wacky scents that might actually prove to be a positive olfactory alternative to prosac in these terrorism-driven post 9/11 angst era, then go ahead and shower in it!
Verdict: So sweet it will give you plaque without taking a bite, and you will gain weight.

Spongebob trolling aside, I do get sea notes from New York Nights. They are not predominant; caramel is. But it is a salted caramel, reminiscent of salt water taffy purchased on the boardwalk. Coffee and patchouli are strong notes on me as well. I have a lot of trouble wearing certain patchouli scents, but this one works on me beautifully. The salt and coffee notes also tame the caramel that I find to be a bit much in some scents like La Vie est Belle.

Whoever said this smells like SpongeBob SquarePants is a troll of the highest order. WTF.
LOVE this. Rich, sexy, very gourmand. I don’t smell the sea notes AT ALL – who did that?

I put this on and couldn’t stop smelling my wrists all day. Very gourmand, as I was wearing I was trying to pick out specific notes but to no avail. Nothing really stands out except for the fact that it’s gourmand. I’m surprised to see florals and especially sea notes as the most upvoted notes when that’s not what I smell at all.
The coffee and caramel are at the forefront and leading this fragrance, I suppose the florals are there but only to lend support and to provide depth and balance to the sweet caramel and the rich coffee.
Don’t be mislead by the sea notes, if they’re there at all then like the florals, they’re giving the coffee and caramel a helping hand straight to the front. Fragrance stays basically the same throughout, not much evolution but that’s okay because what we get initially is more than enough.
One more thing to add, the fragrance isn’t candy sweet like caramel would imply, the coffee cuts a lot of that sweetness and we’re left with an extremely rich, creamy, slightly sweet aura of what the caramel used to be. Definitely still sweet, but the coffee perfectly prevents it from smelling of candy and from being too feminine. Definitely going to purchase this.
**UPDATE** – So here it is, months later after leaving this review. I ended up buying this fragrance and am extremely disappointed. Not in the smell, I still stand by everything that I wrote above. It’s a beautiful and amazing aroma that I would be satisfied either wearing this out to a fancy evening event, or just spraying it on my bed sheets on a lazy day. It’s just one of those type of fragrances. It works for anything or any occasion. Beautiful beautiful scent. So.. why am I disappointed? Because I paid over $400 bucks for it and it lasts no longer than 20 minutes on my skin. No exaggeration. 20 minutes. Most bath & body works body sprays last longer than this cologne. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I will no longer buy or support Bond no. 9. It’s ridiculous that they expect people to pay them their hard earned money for a couple ounces of basically water. A money hungry, greedy corporation that doesn’t care about their customers or any problem that they may experience. I will use up this body spray until it’s done, but after that I will never purchase nor support anything that Bond no. 9 ever releases again. Horrible company.

whoever upvoted the sea notes that much.. that’s ignorant. caramel is way more prominent

The first hour contains a floral blend of carnation & gardenia with patchouli which create a sea salt accord (clever!) After that, long lasting caramel (I do not smell any coffee) from beginning to end. Very nice

The top note of the clove pink flower is the most off-putting here, but once it’s gone in about 30 minutes, you will be left with rich intoxicating coffee/caramel smell. Nice fragrance from Bond No.9, warm and spicy.

I immediately think of Chanel Chance, although New York Nights is a bit sweeter. Because of the patchouli I could really only wear them once in a while, until I’m sick. I like it, I hate it. I’ll have to buy a bottle of this, as I think I could wear this longer than Chanel’s Chance (a classic).

I was so looking forward to this release and excited to find this fragrance displayed prominently at my local Saks. My thoughts: Disappointed. Not a terrible release by any means, but much sweeter than I’d anticipated. This fragrance lacks depth, and while I enjoy sweet fragrances, I do wish the coffee note was deeper/richer to balance out the more syrupy sweet elements. Bottom Line – this ones a pass for me.

My girl Carolyn at Saks gave me some testers of this and I must say thank you. I will purchase a full bottle. Lately Bond no 9 has bee on their game.

I have to say that I have not been too impressed with Bonds so far…until now! It was a perfect balance of feminine and spice. Not too masculine that it would help me grow a mustache. Its the NY feminine, that wears black all year round and wears boots that were made for walkin’, with a certain degree of confident arrogance. (so right up my alley 😉

  24. :

It’s quite sexy but slightly strange: smoky facets (roasted coffee beans + incensy patchouli) intermingles with a sort of sickly sweetness in the background, plus some floral elements and a touch of sea breeze. One of the more interesting releases from this brand.

I got this catalog from saks and it had where you could smell this in the catalog… does not smell too fem.. could be unisex. To me it smells like a bit of chocolate.. with some florals.. with a hint of their Success is a job in NY. Would definitely be good for the fall and spring. But that is just from the initial smell in a catalog sample. I would say definitely worth checking out at the store… BUT the price for bot 50 and 100ml is kind of outrageous.

I’m glad they aren’t taking a literal approach to recreating the smell of New York nights

Hmmmm Seems like this might be a little like A*Men. Maybe a floral take on it.
