Description
The fashion house of Givenchy presents a new exclusive collection called L’ Atelier de Givenchy, which contains seven fine fragrances made from rich raw ingredients that evoke the Givenchy fashion creations and materials. Each fragrance is accompanied by a special fashion sketch. The scents are: Ambre Tigré, Bois Martial, Cuir Blanc, Chypre Caresse, Néroli Originel, Oud Flamboyant and Ylang Austral.
Néroli Originel is inspired by the model of a dress worn by Givenchy‘s first muse, Audrey Hepburn. The perfume is a graceful, elegant and chic, developing with Tunisian neroli, iris, musk and vanilla.
The fragrances are available as 100 ml Eau de Parfum .
Néroli Originel was launched in 2014.

I have been testing this from a friend’s FB, so no half-strength, conserve the tester sprays…
On first spraying, Neroli Originel seemed a beautifully blended fragrance with no individual notes obvious. My impression of it was immediately of a rather plastic-y scent, with little projection from the three generous sprays I applied. Although not strong, it felt heavy from the outset. Whereas other nerolis, such as the Goutal, sparkle and dance the whole time, this seemed to sit on my skin as a solid entity, thick and unmoving.
Three hours in and I remained underwhelmed, wearing a plastic, synthetic-feeling skin scent like a lump of mud. There was a hint of powder now, but this only added to the heaviness of the fragrance on my skin. Beyond four hours and I had a vague impression of something green and slightly fresher, a laundry-liquid type scent, but this did not develop further.
Longevity was good, especially for this type of fragrance. However, there was minimal projection and it was not easy to smell the perfume even on my own arm.
This is another fragrance that I am glad I do not own, although it is well made and well presented and I am sure will work beautifully on someone else’s skin.

Lovely!!! Such a perfect neroli. I adore it. Simply divine.

Lovely neroli, natural, not oversweet. “Natural” is a good word overall for this scent, and it is quite beautiful in its simplicity- just a true, soft, pleasant and inviting neroli, full of charm and light. However, as there are so many neroli fragrances on the market, it’s hard to imagine feeling okay about such a high price for this one (at the time of writing this it’s being sold in 3.4 oz size for $220). A shame, as it’s beautiful, but one has to draw the line on out-of-hand perfume pricing somewhere…

Charming neroli scent, light and alluring, full of harmony and grace. It’s so difficult to find such a soft, gentle neroli scent on mainstream perfume shelf. For some reason, orange niche scents often are a lot better than mainstream, I mean – more natural, subtle and well blended.
