This is not similar to Voyage, Summer Voyage and Island Voyage, three that all bear an obvious commonality of that melon/apple/marine vibe. It’s darker and more citrusy. It parallels Latitude Longitude in the sense that it is a significant departure from the rest of the distinctively aquatic Nautica line. It looks very nice in the bottle. Like other Nautica fragrances that have been discontinued, the current price may be out of proportion to its value in your collection. You can find something very similar in Thallium Black for much less money.

I ordered this as a sample and I’m wearing it now. I ordered other samples of the Nautica line of colognes. This one smells kind of yummy like there’s a fruity essence to it. It’s o.k. but I still think the “Nautica classic” is the best in this line of colognes by Nautica. There has to be other notes in this cologne than just Freesia and Lotus, but this site doesn’t list all of them.

Take a sniff at Davidoff silver shadow, you’ll see the traces of notes there of nautica sunset voyage

Perhaps I am being fooled by the colour but for me it is a very close substitute for Eau de Cartier Essense d’Orange with one big difference it seems much more femine than the Cartier fragrance, which is odd. I think I am going to place it together with Prada Infusion de Fleur d’Oranger, something I like but it is very difficult for me to wear it in public, too feminine.

nattoline and soleroc, I agree- this lovely fragrance has a very appealing smoky quality- it is subtly floral and animalic, and just exquisite-
I definitely don’t think this is an aquatic scent-

Nautica Voyage has grown up into Sunset Voyage. It has smokey but fresh edge like a far distance cousin of Fahrenheit. I’d say this is no longer something I consider aquatic type of scent. It’s still fresh but yet warm and manly in a way. I am not sure what it’s trying to be or whom to please, and I don’t see much relation to the original Voyage (or any Voyage!) as there are no juicy fruit nor citrus here. Try before you buy, and if you are looking for a cool and fresh aquatic scent, look elsewhere.

I’m by no means an expert on perfume. I did purchase this and have to say the initial scent is fantastic. If it had any staying power it would be a steal. Unfortunately, after a short period of time (1-2hrs) you or nobody around you can smell it. I bought it for cheap so I put this sucker in my car for a quick spritz as needed.

    Hello All,
Am I the only one that thinks that there is DEFINITELY more depth and complexity to this fragrance than what is posted? I get some smokiness/tobacco AT THE TOP!! I love this one. I love most of what Nautica has put out even though most people are biased, claiming that there whole entire line of frags are petty clones of each other. I completely disagree and have actually taken the time to get to know each one individually. Again, this one is great! I would even use it at night and also into the late fall months, due to the smokiness that I get from it. Sunset Voyage is great!
    Thanks all, and be good!

This scent, does not smell like Davidoff or Voyage. Its scent is completely singular & very sweet to the nose. It’s a masculine & juicy fragrance that without a doubt is noticeable. This is my absolte favorite from the Nautica house, try it you’ll like it.

Nautica is one of my favorite houses and I have all the releases (except Latitude/Longitude; of which I still have the conditioning shampoo. The body lotion is/was fantastic a true classic scented MENS lotion and the cologne was also quite special, sadly now discontinued) All the ancillaries I have for most of the other releases are of very high quality.
When I smelled NSV at my favorite fragrance counter I liked it but…not enough to buy a 100 ml bottle at full price. Its a shame so many seasonals and flankers usually only come in 100-125 ml bottles. I waited until it showed up at tha Discount stores and got a full sized 100 ml spray for a 1/5 of retail! Whatever I had on that day had worn down and by the time I got to the car and got it out I put it on and (Heavenly music playing) it was worth the wait…
The citron ( a once widely used green citrus fruit also called “cedrat”) and aquatic beginning was nice but sort of shallow ( this is also all that I got sampling it at the frag. counter and throwing away the teststrip) but about 15 to 20 minutes later the car started to fill up with the most massive lotus flower note that was deepened and sweetened by sensual freesia nectar that has changed my opinion of that flower completely, this was not the overpowering sweet volume on 11 flower so popular in candles and body products in the 80s, no, this was a seductive siren of a flower luring me on to the light woody and very beachy base that reminded me of the time of day when the sun is just sinking below the horizon amidst flaming red, orange and yellow clouds smeared across the sky by the Powers That Be. What a voyage…the only thing missing was the bonfire…
The dry woods, the massive but very REAL smelling flowers along with the citrus-aquatic note opening can come of as somewhat feminine; however, it is not unpleasant…like a seaside flower garden releasing its most powerful scents just as eveing fades and night spreads her wings across the sky…
    Sillage: OK, gets greater later
    Longevity: Super
    Overall: 4.5/5
Even though this is marketed as a MANS fragrance I see no problem with women wearing it and think it should have been a unisex release. Scent is a deeply personal thing, I believe, and it should not to be regulated by the folks in research & development…Try it, it might surprise you. You might surprise yourself…
