I was very excited to buy this for a reasonable price off of ebay, but it doesn’t wow me as I was expecting. I am open for a trade. If anyone is interested, pm me. As my handle suggests, I love woodsy fragrances.

Why is this stuff going for $300 on certain sites? Bizarre.
FubSheerb – :
It smells quite nice, kind of citrusy and after a couple of minutes spicy woody 🙂 I would love it, but it has zero lasting power on me…

I love that it doesn’t give me a headache! I’m such a fuss bucket when it comes to scents, take a look at all the perfumes I don’t like on my profile if you want to gasp… It’s a fresh citrus spicy, but not too overpowering, just enough to give you a a kick. The ingrediant quality to my nose is most reminiscent of L’Occitane or Hermes, high quality stuff, but at a fraction of the cost! The base is warm woody and aromatic, reminds me of sitting on the edge of a slightly damp cedar forest, an orangerie next door, surrounded by aromatic fresh herbs as the sun warms them up, and perfumes the air. Strange though, the only note I can’t smell is the patchouli, which is all the better since I don’t care for it at all. I think it is definitely worth trying if you like fresh aromatic citrus scents; lasting power is extraordinary for a natural perfume, and much better than say Demeter. I find because of the woody cypress base it could also work for autumn and winter. A very versatile cologne, and very much unisex; what can I say, it smells heavenly on me, getting me compliments from men and women alike!

This is a scent that seems to get little love outside of the Burt’s Bees/Wholesome/Organic crowd.
First off, why does the above mentioned crowd seem to love it? Maybe because this fragrance is awesome if you love those beautiful all natural ingredients that go into it, they all seem to strike you from the very start………all of them.
Why would this light sprakling aromatic liquid not garner more positive reviews outside of the Burt’s Bees crowd? Well………….
To some connisieurs or the “finicky” type out there, I believe, seem to expect all fragrances to have a certain nuance to it or a progression of the notes into something else as it ages on your skin.
What’s wrong with being linear or straight forward? Demeter Fragrances seem to make a living off of that niche.
It’s getting harder to find out there though, I wonder if they’re cutting back?
Anyways……………I give it a thumbs up…….fresh and natural………what else do you want?

Just bought this blind after reading a few of the reviews on this page. The verdict? I’m rather impressed. Not bad – actually surprisingly nice and not what I was expecting from this brand.
It opens up with the usual EDC mixture – the bergamot, petitgrain orange and rosemary as opposed to the earthier “hippie” scent of many BB’s products. Dries down with the lovely patchouli and fir needles giving a light, but solid base for it.
At this point, the citrus is just a little sour as it’s mostly died away – typical of most natural eau de colognes lacking proper fixatives and modifiers. This is something that might have been helped a bit with the addition of some ambrette seed or angelica as a stand-in for a musk fixative. Alternatively, a touch of sandalwood might be nice too.
Layered over a single-note musk or other diffusive fixative, this could become one of my new affordable favorites 🙂
(added 6/25) Just spritzed a touch of this over the dry, aldehydic Calandre, and it added such a nice touch of citrus – enlived the two into one beautiful whole. This is, of course, with the newer Calandre formulation.

Very nice smell, lasts and it doesn’t contain the synthetics found in Acqua di Parma.
Here in Europe, it would set you back about 35 euro a bottle, but still makes it quite a good deal for such a scent.
Highly recommended, and yes it resembles AdP…

I first saw this fragrance on the BB website, reformed hippy but still eco-conscious Nature lover that I am, while looking for another bottle of Wild Lettuce skin toner. Sadly, the toner has now been discontinued…BUT this is even better!
I went to my local “back to nature” type store (the only one in our town) and was told they DO carry it, but it was out of stock. I smelled the deodorant and ordered a bottle. I was told you have to have a minimum order to get BB to ship; so it might be a while. Two days ago (less than a week after ordering) the store called, it was in…and I rushed to pick it up! What I found astounded and delighted me (and the two ladies in the store grocery shopping as well)…
If you like Acqua di Parma Colonia, you will LOVE Natural Cologne for Men! Not only for the amazing similarities, but for better sillage AND longevity at one-fifth the PRICE. This begins with a stunning citrus medley of clear “shiny” amalfi lemon and luscious sweet oranges and tangerines and just enough bergamot to make it balanced but not overly bitter or “bitey”. AdP Colonia came to mind immediately, but I was skeptical: Would it last? Would it go all flat? Would the fir and cypress, listed on the carton, “muscle” out the sheerly beautiful citruses? I waited with baited breath…
No, No and NO!! It only got better (and better) as the warm green basil (and a pinch of lavender, maybe?) gave this a heavenly herbaceous, almost spicy NATURAL scent that was clean…but NOT too soapy. WOW! Then (be still my quivering nostrils!) the cypress emerged, grand and sharp and green; piney, but not “christmasy”, and almost juniper-like. Balsam fir (amazing) adds to the verdancy of this, but never gets all “in your face”. Patchouli is on its very best behavior here, like it has been given a bath and dressed for Church. THIS perfume (dare I even call it that?!) is a testament to what “natural” ingredients blended lovingly can produce. No animals were tested on. All the ingredients were from sustainable resources…and it smells friggin’ awesome! NCfM is something every man should at least try, and for the price (and actual quality) you cannot go wrong. The earthy green basenotes and the herbal heart maintain the freshness of the opening, though the citruses fade (as they often do), but it stays extremely aromatic and smooth. Imagine showering outside in a wooden stall within mere feet of huge ancient trees and lathering with citrus fruits and herbs under warm clean spring water…and it LASTS folks…no joke! An absolutely positively superb product, that has stolen not only my nostrils…but my tree-huggin’ heart!!
Sillage: very good
Longevity: great
Overall: 5/5 An Instant Classic!!
Take this from someone who (when younger) used to tag people with bio-hazard stickers, if you were wearing anything other than incense or essential oils, THIS is something “of this world”…but out-of-this-world!
I wonder at the “niche” houses who all claim they use “pure” (supposedly costly) materials and create something that, though wonderful, does not last…and charge and arm and a leg. While Burt’s Bees makes something just as good (if not better) for a fraction of the price while maintaining its integrity AND that of the planet and eco-systems. Maybe, if other Houses followed Burt’s example, we could all smell wonderful and put some of that niche money where it belongs: saving the raw materials we love so much from extinction and pollution. Don’t like perfume you say? You don’t wanna smell “phony”? Natural Cologne for Men is the way to go…read the box and the ingredients-all natural extracts and oils blended into an elegant scent for a desriminating man.

This is about a cold and clear as a woody-aromatic gets! It’s seriously nice even without the added benefit of being sustainable and cruelty-free.
There’s a really neat patchouli in Natural Cologne; it intertwines thinly with the citrus and cedar before giving way to the thicker aromatics and sap at the drydown. And it’s all real.
Burt’s Bees may be the purview of happy hippies and bearded British Columbian tree planters, but who would’ve thought they could make a scent that smelled this good?
