eagle_saj – :
Nardo is a deep, resinous, tobacco-y (even though that note is not listed–something about the resins and vanilla/tonka sweetness register as “tobacco” or “cigar” to my nose) fragrance. In the raw, spikenard essential oil has an unpleasant smell to me, but it’s dosed carefully here, serving to abate the sweetness with an earthy, rooty quality but never overpowering. Musk and most probably the ambergris, too, give Nardo a soft suede undertone. I’m unable to parse the other notes individually, but the fragrance as a whole is lovely and rich-smelling, a traditional oriental-style perfume in feel and trending towards masculine. The perfume oil is highly concentrated and lasts 12+ hours on me, with decent sillage throughout.
Thank you to Monom for the opportunity to try this fragrance.
