Description

Trussardi launched a new men’s fragrance My Land; eternal scent of Italian elegance, power, sophistication and integrity, as well as intense sensuality. This is a scent of elegant Italians, virile, active and successful worldwide.

The fragrance is characterized as classical and modern woody – fougere that captures the power of woods surrounded by sensual leather. The compositions opens with citrus notes of green mandarin and bergamot, leading to the heart of lavender, violet and Calone molecule that provides a fresh and marine note. The base is one that is dominant, with its intense accords of leather, vetiver and tonka bean.

Italian architect Antonio Citterio designed the bottle for this new perfume. It is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. There are also accompanying cosmetic products: 200 ml shower gel, 100 ml after shave lotion and 75 gr deodorant stick.
My Land was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is Alexandra Kosinski.

Tested this on paper and was instantly pulled into warm peppery leather. Not a love, but a definite interest.
Fast forward to seeing it on Amazon for cheap, and I pulled the trigger for a 1 oz bottle.
On my skin, it’s completely different. Upon application up until the 3 hour mark, the initial opening of lavender and citrus project boldly with three sprays on my torso only. It’s warm out/late summer and as the citrus tones down, the amber and woods pick up, sweet woods on the dry down.
Pleasant scent and very very very reminiscent of D&G pour Homme 2012 and Liz Claiborne Realities (I like this more than both of them) as it is less cloying than the former, and less synthetic than the latter.
Overall, I like it but don’t love it. Where I loved D&G pour homme on my friend and my dad, this one smells better on me (lighter). Personally, I get no similarities with CH Men. Thank you.

Very floral. Mandarine, tonka bean and bergamot are dominant as well. So where is the leather? Where is the woodiness? I don’t get it. I feel little bit out of it, because so many say that they smell the leather. I don’t. This is a fresh scent, bit nauseating because the lavender and violet, yet still bearable. It radiates nicely and fills room. I can imagine this one for a party, but not for a day in office. If you go on date with this one, be sure that you know the person, otherwise it can be a put off. It is a very inviting and appealing scent, yet may be a bit boring after a while so you will have to work your charms differently. It is scent for young adults, not for men in the 30’s or 40’s. No wood, leather, smoke etc., nevertheless a solid blend.

This is a generic warm weather daytime scent. Dominant notes are strong green mandsrine, strong cashmere wood which feels very synthetic and cheap and mild leather.
Longevity is low-moderate and the sillage is soft.

I have worn this and this only for like, 2 years maybe before I got into scents more seriously. I bought this and I thought it was for me. So, from my own personal experience, it’s a fragrance you could like instantly even if you’re not into fragrances that much and dont know much about it.
What kept me using it are the nice leather notes. Spray it on your leather jacket and you’re good to go.
Now that my collection is a bit bigger, I went back to it. and I still enjoy it’s inoffensive smell. It is definitly a good doorway for more experiences with colognes.

I loved this when I sampled it in the shop. So I bought the bottle, first couple of minutes I get a very similar smell as D&G Pour Homme, but this lasts for 30 mins on my skin and the scent has completely gone. Same with Trussardi Uomo, very manly fragrance but that’s gone within minutes too. It’s a shame because I absolutely love the opening, if only they did an intense or edp version of my land!

    First impressions.
It starts off with 100% petrochemical, synthetic, cheap smelling ingredients – cheap citrus chemicals rounding off the intro. Very generic. Behind the barrage of citrus top notes you can detect prominent leather and sweetness – sweet woods.
About 3/4 minutes in, the opening citrus chemicals have gone and you have a sweet woods smell. Still very synthetic. Really on a par with deodorant in terms of overall feel.
The basenote sweetness is some kind of cheap tonka, very 1 dimensional.
About 10 minutes in, it’s starting to develop something with more ambiguity and character. I can imagine this being a versatile ‘background’ scent – not too pushy, pleasant. But, I can’t yet get over the very cheap overall impression.
After 1 hour – this is very light, and still overall impression is synthetic and cheap. If you absolutely BURY your nose in your skin, you can get a different picture, which has more of a rounded sweet woodiness and tonka, but otherwise it’s very light and gives little impression more than a cheap body spray/deodorant.

A Masterpiece and hidden gem in IMO.
The older Brother to CH men. Here you get the Hay, leather, cashmere feel and smoothness. This has less sweetness and the sugar is not caramelized or burnt here.
I find this fragrance aromatic, beautiful and a bit comforting. It is a old school fragrance that has a timeless feel that could stay modern forever.
This smells rich, yet light. Definitely Italian and perfect Business casual or Upscale casual spring or fall fragrance and could work summer nights.
I Am thankful for this and Jeremy Fragrance for mentioning it.

    Sweet Italian leather!
I finally got my hands on this fragrance and I’m so glad I did! First off, the presentation is beautiful! The golden box with the black lettering is quite elegant. The bottle is clear with the golden juice glistening inside and wrapped in genuine, Italian leather which itself smells great!
This scent starts out with a fresh, but faint citrus and a blast of leathery goodness. It projects for about an hour and dries down into the sweet tonka bean with the leather still there along the ride. The base notes stay there and it comes very close to the skin.
Sadly, this fragrance didn’t last long on my skin, about 4 to 5 hours and got really close to the skin in the first hour. I would definitely suggest a clothing spray for this fragrance.
Overall, I love the smell of this frag and can see it being a business casual scent in the fall season. The longevity kills it for me, so 5/10! Cheers!
P.S. It definitely imitates CH Men by Carolina Herrera, so I’d stick to the original if you don’t mind the coin!

sent this back to the company i bought it off, which i have never had to do ever before.
There was no trace of this fragrance after 2 minutes.
Do yourself a favour and give it a swerve.

the buzz is true, its a very nicely balanced fresh parfume, so much so that it even took me some time to be honest with myself and realize that it has SERIOUS PERFORMANCE ISSUES. ok, its not highly priced, but still, if you are looking at price / performance (in other words VALUE) it is overpriced. my colleague (the one with whom we share the passion for good frag) literaly told me he smells NOTHING on me. only then i realized that it is a total skin scent with zero projection. later i also realized that it doesnt last more than an hour. so at this rate i will flying through my 100mil bottle quicker than a lap around monza (the racetrack near trussardi’s home) and will probably receive zero compliments, as nice and crispy fresh, “milano casual shopping stroll”-y it is….it is useless.

    Not usually into Men’s cologne
    but this one is amazing
    simply adorable
after seeing all the reviews here
i decided to have a try on this one
since there’s nothing i dislike in the notes
and when i firstly applied it
normal, just bitter orange and leather
    but after 3-4 minutes
    holy heavens
the cashmere woods and the lavender came out
    created a soft-sweet irrisistible smell
    so unique and tender
    but remained masculine as well
    such a good perfume
i’m glad that i’ve bought this one

I had the chance to smell it back on 2012. I was amazed by such a luxurious smelling fragrance. I only wish the projection -silage was a bit better. Overall, unique fragrance . What do you think?

I just received this parcel, unpacked and test it out. This is the best perfume i ever smelled. At first it smell like you just having a cold lemonade shower and the next dry down is the soft leathery smell. Suitable for office use and night date out.

PURE BEST!!!! Easy, light, sweet (perfect sweet, not too sweet), leather… perfect for night, day..winter..summer. It’s SO good that i don’t understand how it’s so cheap.
Allow 2 weeks to “stay” at your home before rating…it becomes superb. There is no nothing more close to CH MEN original.
Leather here is soft, nice smelling one, not old and smelly one.
People who say it’s garbage – they just like cat pee instead of good smelling perfumes that women like.
This perfume proves that people buy not good perfumes but those that have ads. This one is very rarely shown on youtube or commercials, that’s why it’s gem and low priced.

There is a prominent citrus freshness in the opening. It is a slightly herbal and warm minty mandarine note. Quite realistic. Its paired with a fairly noticable cardamon note. Just under the surface there is a barely noticeable aldehydic, fizzy, soft peach note that reminds me of the warm vapor evaporating off of a freshly ‘Tide’ washed tee-shirt placed on a hot radiator.
Someone mentioned a little heavy handedness with the Calone in this one and I agree completely … but it’s nice and above all complimentary to the dryness in the composition. It’s so heavy in fact that it almost borders on a orange turpentine note – but, fresh and crisp.
It’s the perfect wet, sharp, strong partner to the fresh, dry, papery leather note.
The note of leather oils left on paper when you purchase a quality belt – That fresh airiness the oils take on when absorbed onto the paper.
The fragrance in a sentence is a woody, papery leather note with a touch of dust from dry vetiver and a confident dose of mandarin and calone.
Wonderful fragrance for someone who likes confident traditional colognes and loves ageless style.

I like it. It reminds me of Estiara E-Homme, and no wonder since E-Homme is an imitation of Carolina Herrera CH Men as far as I know.
This has some potency for a signature scent.

I hadn’t touched my bottle in a while, originally the drydown smelled like urine on my skin, but I gave it another chance today and it completely changed. It was a very fresh but dry smell. Odd, aquatic but with a dry wood opening. Still not a daily wear for me though.

I would say this is most blind buy safe option!! Very nice smell.
When i got it it sucked (in my stupid opinion, i wnated it to be like CH MEN)….i left it on shelf for 2weeks and then it became masterpiece 😀
It’s a copy of CH men. Nothing more to say. Really good smell for only 31eur/100ml
Also i smell raspberry in top note, strange its not listed

I’ve reached for this after 2 years. I remember very good, when I first smelled it, it was IDENTICAL to CH Men, but when I smelled it again few days ago, it was so smoky, like a cigar or sth like that, all in all very bad. I’m not sure if it has been reformulated… Anyone had a similar experience?

This is a wonderful smelling scent. The leather in this one is very soft but quitely present. Its like the smell of a green mandarin getting rubbed on a high quality dry and soft smelling leather while being surrounded by flowers. This one is a clean gentleman. Truely love it.

    Elegant, gorgeous, sensual!!!
    *****************************
Picture a sophisticated well-dressed classical elegant man who steals ladies attention and fist look! By far, one of the best works of Trussardi!
This is by far one of my most favorite leather scents, bottled in a see-through glass covered by high quality soft brown leather designed by an Italian master, Antonio Citterio which reveals it has got the guts in it 🙂
I wish this stuff leaved a bit longer on my skin though! It is a sister of CH man original with no sugar cane and less sweetness in it!
“The fragrance is characterized as classical and modern woody – fougere that captures the power of woods surrounded by sensual leather.” I like this short description, well-done!
“The compositions opens with citrus notes of green mandarin and bergamot, leading to the heart of lavender, violet and Calone molecule that provides a fresh and marine note. The base is one that is dominant, with its intense accords of leather, vetiver and tonka bean.”
I love the leather scent in this, it is moderate, classy, crystal clear, sensual and seductive! I would rather say My Land is for above 30 year old men who wear it from Spring to Fall, day and night in special occasions!
In my experience and on my skin:
    Scent: 10/10
    Design: 10/10 ***
    Projection: 8/10
    Longevity: 7/10
    Price: Moderate and reasonable
    Overall: 8.5/10

FABULOUS !!! It reminds me of Fahrenheit but less floral, more manly in a way.
It smells like your BF leather jacket mixed with his perfume. Uh,,, so warm, sexy and cozy !
What can I add- classical Italian job ! 🙂

I’m not really sure what to make of this one and haven’t been for some time..hence only just getting around to reviewing My Land.
It’s interesting and not without merit but to me smells like wet wood, vetiver and a hint of violets, a combination which can sometimes conjure up images of wallpapering in a damp house on a wet and miserable Saturday afternoon…in the 1970’s. I don’t know why? I wasn’t even born in the 70’s but hey ho.
I think My Land (especially the opening) reminds me of the He Wood range, crossed with the 90’s aquatic calone and a musky hint of Narciso Rodriguez for Him but also with a leathery element to the dry down. Not bad credentials and for this reason I have to say, no wonder it’s become a bit of a modern classic.
The bottle is certainly a unique design not sure if it’s in a ‘laughing with’ or ‘At’ sort of a way but I suppose wrapping a piece of leather around the flacon is something I’ve never seen before.
I think I’m going to have to try it yet again because I can’t seem to reach a satisfactory conclusion concerning My Land, it was a distinctly average performer too. I’m sure this will review will get an update in the future.

I recently picked up a sample of this on Bonanza. I was pleasantly surprised at how similar My Land is to the original CH Men. The new CH Men formulation is awful, and My Land has a much better price point. It also lasts longer and projects better than the current formulation of CH Men. What a gem this is!

I had been wanting to buy this for over a year and I finally did last week.
The smell has a wonderful opening but the dry down is very nauseating and I’m unable to wear it. Perhaps it just doesn’t work on my skin. Luckily I bought a smaller size.

totally in love with this fragrance !
it goes from “smile” to “grin” !
it goes from jog to run !
i’ll consider getting a full bottle of this, since i only got a decant from this.
    totally awesome juice !
DEFINITELY A BUY (i was saying give it a try before you buy in my last review, but today? i’d gladly recommend you guys to BUY IT ! )

less sweet version of CH Men !
i own em both, and i like em.
there’s something that CH Men cant give, and vice versa.
this is like an older brother to CH Men, who has Charisma rather than that “playful” vibe from CH Men.
    great juice !
    try before you buy.

So elegant sophisticated leathery scent that drive me back to my childhood, in late 80is.. Memories that can be forget past to smooth polished suit gentleman.. So similar with CH Man C.Herrera without youngster sweetness.. read above that longevity is an issue, and CH Man have more longevity and projection i will rate them exactly in the same class of longevity and projection because i have them both in my collection and make few tests.. they are more or less medium moderate in lasting nothing more or less.. longevity 7.5/10 scent 8/10

  37. :

Yum! I really love this fragrance. It’s fresh and crisp – but not in the aquatic sense. The leather is quite mild and the whole composition has this airy quality about it. It’s more of a leathery breeze – perfect for every season of the year. An easy wear for sure.

  39. :

Finally i got my bottle “my name” from trussardi at the local perfume store, and my husband took a test spray on his neck of “my land”. Well, indeed a very masculine sophisticated scent but i could hardly detect anything else than powdery leather leather leather. I don t know if someone would even know you are wearing a perfume, if you wear a new clean leather jacket anyway. To smell just like an expensive leather jacket, doesn t mean it is bad, no, i assume, it is a very nice minimal chic scent and perfect blended, because exept from the leather, the vetiver is the only listet note i can tell apart…. I hoped to smell more of a warm and cudly tonka bean, but nope. The scent has quite a “cool” vibe, maybe because of the lavender? surprisingly different bright leather scent anyway! I also can imagine this has an erotic aspect, because of its dry powdery sensation, if this make sense?
Very nice lux heavy see through bottle with leather trim.
Btw i guess the female version “my name” is a simple but sophisticated as this one is. Its also quite powdery, linear and projects a very feminine sophisticated vibe, very intriguing. I love them both, because they do really underline the gender of each in a very bright and flattering sexy but minimal way.
Guess my husband has to get his bottle trussardi “my land” very soon.

  40. :

I think this is my best perfume ever. I wish they made a version for women too that would smell of leather as much.
I did check out “My name”, but it can’t stand in front of this one in my opinion.
It’s so beautiful and so long lasting. I even spray it on the bed when I finish cleaning up mid day and at night when I go in the bedroom it’s like I have a leather chair in the room.
So, so beautiful… They really nailed it with this one. It exudes class.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

Without doubt the most significant scent launch of 2012 to have entered my awareness and the most important one from Trussardi for years. I’ve always loved Trussardi perfumes and regret how reformulation has impacted their magnificent scents from the 1980s.
A relaxed, subtle and discreet composition mixing leather, woods and florals. The addition of a hint of calone is inspired and really does work. The opening of violet and lavender combine for the momentary chamomile-like resemblance to D&G homme – which passes quickly enough. (D&G homme plays to a different gallery).
My Land then rapidly evolves to reveal much more leather, and also into something altogether more aromatically complex.
In my opinion, this is how to do vetiver. In My Land the vetiver note is nuanced – more reined in. Done like this and the composition gains a totally different dynamic. The drydown (if a comparison is helpful) is more reminiscent of Lancôme Hypnôse Homme.
The use of calone is as subtle as it is imaginative, giving the airiness and freshness but without it coming across as synthetic. Since acquiring my bottle I have been able to wear this intensively without ever experiencing scent fatigue.
Moderate sillage with a reliable 4-6 hours longevity – which isn’t bad. Having said that, although faint, I can actually still smell this on my skin after 10 hours.
Cultured. Temporal. Sophisticated. Trussardi proves its pedigree yet again with this outstanding scent, full of presence and charisma. My Land is the authentic expression of Italian assuredness, and it ticks all the boxes for me. Being the very DNA of Trussardi what else could it do?
    Update (19th June 2015)
Someone I know loves this so much on me that she started wearing it too, and has since bought it for herself.
    Update (12th June 2017)
Reformulated already? Something has happened. No longer so nice : (

It was a blind buy, first when I got it I don´t find it to be that great but it grews on me, similar to CH Men, but this is little bit sutble, weaker in longevity and projection and not as sweet as CH Men, If I want something louder and sweeter I go with CH Men, if I want something more elegant and not as sweet I go with My Land, mainly what I get is leather and violet with some citrus, but the leather and violet combo doesn´t smells like Fahrenheit, I don´t get the D&G pour homme resemblance, 8/10

I agree that it smells a lot like D&G pour Homme. Perhaps this is a little better, though.

bought when it was launched, I used to spray it in autumn-winter when most of the days i was wearing coat and flat cap, for me it was smelling perfect making me feel confident, really like it and still using sometimes, but the only thing most of the compliments i had was from people over 40’s and i was 23 :s

good design bottles eccept for its coppy the smelling profile of dsquared he wood. Not as sharp woody as he wood. Its dry down carry sweet hint of tonka bean very pleasure and office friendly. Another option that should be considered if you love he wood by dsquared

I want to dive into this liquid and bathe in it.
Arabian Knight summed it nicely when he said it’s fresh, warm and rugged.
This kind of reminds me of my older cousin’s house in mid-late 90’s when i was a teen. His house was the gathering place of my other older cousins (all by just a few years) when they visited from abroad. They were my role models – still are – and this is what i thought a young adult man smelled like (not old school mature). I guess he wore something similar to this.
This became my unofficial signature scent. After the first time I tested this in the store i saw my sister later that day and asked her what she thought (she liked it). I kept going back to the store to test it and by chance would see my sister later on and she’d always say “you’re wearing that perfume again aren’t you?”
    Yes I am.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

Very cool bottle design I have to say. Not massively into leathery colognes, but actually the leather in this is probably the best part of the whole thing.
There’s something about it that evokes riding through the Italian country side on horseback, which I guess is exactly what they were going for.
It’s fresh, warm and rugged. My main problem is the calone, which I’ve never been fond of. Not as brutish as in Cool Water, but it will divide opinion.
Otherwise it’s a decent, manly leather scent.

  49. :

This is a pretty masculine fragrance in an elegant but simple bottle. The leather lace around it symbolizes well the main accord of this perfume.
I tried this perfume as a potential new fragrance for my husband who loves strong, elegant scents. This is a perfect choice!
The base notes are pretty strong and thus, make the perfume’s longevity high. The vetiver, the bergamot and the green mandarin balance the base note’s strength.
I would recommend this scent for those men who like Lalique’s perfumes and Dior Homme (which has nothing to do with Trussardi – My land, only that both are particular and masculine).
A perfect “seducer” for business days and nights. However, only for Autumn and Winter to me.

Beautiful scent. Sharp and citrusy, but also warm and leathery. So incredibly elegant and chic. Not too loud, but easily detectable, with good lasting power.
I absolutely adore this one. Nice that it isn’t widely used either.

  51. :

    4 out of 5

Smells fresh and kind of grassy-fruity in a very synthetic way. Unfortunately it is a very flat creation with no intrigue or detail but worse of all, I find it physically nauseating. I have a suspicion that the overdose of calone might be responsible but I don’t want to blame a molecule. I am blaming the team behind its abuse.

Update from my side: I left it sitting on my shelf for a few months and then returned to it and suddenly found that I missed it and my skin absolutely appreciated the aroma, so this is about to become my signature scent. it needs time to proove its addictive aroma and you need to appreciate its amazing little details that add up to the big Italian picture. also, wonderfull longevity!!! My Land is becoming MY Land!

  53. :

    3 out of 5

Finally decided to buy it. It is for men and I’m a woman, but…
It’s too good. They must’ve had someone spectacular in mind.
Keeps on changing notes, from citrus to pepper, spicy to leather, to wood, to seaside… And the bergamot is balancing everything.
Bit sweeter than expected, the tester was a bit more harsh, but the note variety is amazing (tester also seemed a bit more simple)… I’m glad to have discovered it’s so much more.
It had to be mine. Been thinking about it since it came out and the first time I smelled it. Kept on going to the shop to test it.
Anyway, you’d definitely throw yourself into this guy’s arms. I can see him in Italy, all freshly dressed and a complete gentleman. 🙂
    My precious.

This is a “quiet” fragrance, not a statement one, nevertheless not boring but very discreet with a fresh citusy top note that feels somehow “new”. Trussardi elegance, not understatement!

I’m sorry but this is a disappointment for me, even that Trussardi is one of my top favourite houses.
    I adore Inside, Python, L’uomo.
But these new releases are anything but original.
The new Uomo and now this My land.
My land is a nice inoffensive scent, nothing original in it, boring and familiar. I would call it a fruity-balsamic-leather. Reminds me of a 90s men’s fragrance which I can’t recall.

Reading the notes you might think it’s a boring aquatic but if you try it out you’re going to find that is maybe is not a complex scent but beautiful none the less. A fresh fruity and leather leather fragrance. Certainly on my to buy list for next summer!

After the success of Carolina Herrera CH Men it has become trendy to launch its copies. We got Pal Zileri Uomo, then S.T. Dupont 58 Avenue Montaigne and now Trussardi My Land.
This is paricularly full clone of CH Men. The fresh and a bit sugary combinataion of violet and nutmeg (to my nose)! Trussardi My Land plays in the same price category as CH Men, but fragrance by Carolina Herrera is richer and has better longevity, so it will be a better choiсe. Sorry, Trussardi.
    P. S. The bottle in real life is cheaper than on photo.

Well. It is a member of the new direction Trussardi is taking. The Uomo 2011 belongs to that as well. At first both seemed to generic to me but both develop a certain addictive feeling which makes you get back to them. This one is nice and fresh with some tender spices underneath the dominating calone. Its easy going and still has personality to it. Sometimes remembered me of a lighter version of Joop Jump. Inoffensive but still elegant and youthfull. I will be curious to see how it holds its ground amongst all the new releases. Thumbs up from me anyways!

The packaging and the bottle make me think of 1 Million. You know, it’s a fragrance for men from a not very well known couturier, Paco Rabanne
    😉
