Wild. More herbal than fruity. Not sweet.
musky scent of garden angelicas (Angelica archangelica) growing by the sea on a hot day + blackberry (without sweetness) + leaves of flowering raspberry (Rubus odoratus).
It smells like clothes after breaking through the forest bushes (tangled weeds around your shoes, burdock burrs, stains of squished blueberries/blackberries).
I understand negative reviews – sometimes that combination of musk and blackberry can be viewed as herbal in a strange way, “nearly indolic”

I’ve had a bit of love hate relationship with this. I find it stinky sometimes and sometimes berryish, and sometimes clean and sweet. In the stinky moments I’ve almost decided to get rid, but then I’ve tried later and enjoyed it. I’m layering it a lot to see how it fares and it’s a relaxing scent to use in the evening. So I guess I’m keeping it! I have the old gold topped clear bottle with the purple label.
Update- i cant deal so its getting flogged!

Very easy on the allergy scale. This is a summer scent that reminds me more of the summer fields and the dried berry vines than the fruit of the berry. There is nothing sweet about it, but it is a lovely and different scent. I don’t get much citrus or any of the other notes, but there is soft musk at the base. Lovely, but little sillage and lasts about three hours. It smells to me like summer fields in the early morning after harvest when the stubble is drying to a golden hue. I like Mure et Musc and have nothing similar.

I got the very large size from fragrancenet. I’ve been wanting to get this for 19 years since my friend turned me on to it a long time ago. She always wore figeur which smelled great on her. I was looking for a green fragrance since I didn’t have one. I can count this as my green fragrance, although it’s not really green like calyx. I’ve been spritzing it on me. I notice the berry scent and there’s a hint of citrus and a hint of musk. It’s very fresh smelling. As it settles, the musk comes out. As with any fragrance, depending on our skin composition, it smells differently on each of us. My friend is lighter skinned than me, and it smelled differently on her. My skin is oilier, I’m olive skinned but much lighter in the winter. I really like it. It’s my go to when I don’t want to think which fragrance to wear since I have so many. I’m gonna spritz and go to the gym. I’m gonna see if the animals there like it.

Mure et Musc Extreme is unlike any other fragrance I have ever smelled. There is nothing I can compare it to (other than the original Mure et Musc). The basil is prominent on me, it gives it a noticeable green leafy element, and combined with the dark berries and citrus, it creates this competition of sweet vs herbal, combined with musk, and together it it utterly divine to my nose. I previously considered it “okay”, then disliked it…and am now absolutely in love with it. I think weather conditions have to be just right for this one. Not too warm and not too cold. It’s best in early fall and early spring. Just when the weather is going back and forth and you’re not sure what to even call the temperature. That is how Mure et Musc is…a combination of different elements that either leave you in love or confused (or even possibly annoyed). My previous annoyance and confusion has turned into love.

Smells like warm berries, as if they have been sitting out after being heated up in the microwave. Sweet but sour at the same time. That being said…I don’t dislike it, in fact I think it smells fragrant if a little synthetic. In cooler weather this could be nice. Definitely a “warming” scent. Good for feeling cozy. But might smell kind of gross in hot weather. The sillage is mild. Longevity leaves something to be desired, about 2 hours. I would like to smell the extreme version of this sometime. Happy smelling! 🙂

Sampled this perfume and it reminded me of the following very similar takes on the fresh blackberries in a dark wooded forest theme:
    1) Anna Sui La Boheme de Nuit EDT
    2) Outremer Mure Musc
    Basically, it’s blackberries…and musk….with a top note of citrus.
    *Kanye shrug*

I am undecided. I think I like this but the musk reminds me of a drugstore musk I’ve encountered (on a smoker) before. Alyssa Ashley maybe? Jovan? I’m going to try again.

    Mure et Musc Cologne Review
First things first… this is a pleasant fragrance with absolutely no hint of any of the nastiness LittleSnowflake mentions in their review. I can only assume that their test sample was in some way damaged.
Starts with a fizzy blackcurrant sherbert – similar to Dibdab or Love Hearts candy. This quickly mellows out to a simple yet interesting berry fruit scent that doesn’t stray too far away from the skin. Never loses its candy appeal, but takes on a smoother ‘chalky’ angle that smells more feminine than masculine to my nose. After a while the overall sweetness mellows to more of a chilled fruit pie kind of vibe, and it is here that you can detect the light spiciness and medium musc. Certainly an adult fragrance, yet it never loses its youthful playfulness.
Definitely not a fragrance if you dislike Summer Fruits squash/cordial, but if sweetness is your thing, then this is certainly worth considering.
    Scent: 6/10
    Projection: 6/10
    Longevity: 7/10
    Gender: unisex/feminine
    Season: spring/summer

If you read on L’Artisan Parfumeur homepage it says that mûre are blackberry and not mulberry.
From that page: Mûre et Musc (Blackberry and Musk)

Mure is not blueberry, is mulberry.

This is a very clean, easy to wear no brainer scent. Any time, any place, any occasion.

Soap, bluberry soap. Plain sweet, no depth, smells cheap.

I dont know if i have a crazy nose or something but this scent literally made me want to vomit – i got a strong aroma of sweaty, dirty bum (seriously, i kid you not. Does no-one else get this?) laced with sickly sweetness. Literally like someone had poured some sweet, syrupy gloop down a sweaty, dirty bum-crack. Thats the mental picture i got with every sniff, and couldnt shake off (no wonder i wanted to vomit, right?). I think the musk notes in this must be the animaly, dirty type musk? (rather than the soapy, clean white musks im used to). And the sweet notes.. i have no idea what they are, but for someone who loves vanilla, pink sugar etc theyre just way too synthetically nausiatingly sweet even for me. So yeah, for a scent i was dying to sample and thought i would LOVE this turned out to be a wholly unpleasant experience. I NEVER want to have to smell this odour again. Actually, i tell you what else it reminded me of: when someone has been in the bathroom and, erm, stunk it out, and then sprayed a load of cheap sickly dewberry airfreshener to cover it up, but it just mingles into a sweet, poopy, dirty, gag-reflexing stench. Yup, thats Mure et Musc in a nutshell for me. 🙁

I get a fresh blast of basil in the opening and then blackberries. It becomes very purple. Quite sweet and fruity, but the musk keeps it soft, subtle and definitely grown-up. There’s something very comforting about it, too. I get a little bit of Savlon. I can’t stop sniffing my wrists. After it warms up and the musk comes out more, it becomes seriously sexy – like hot skin. At this point, I cannot get enough of it: it’s like catnip. Very seductive on a man.

I can hardly smell this one at all. As I wrote for the Extreme version, this really smells like the body shops Dewberry but priced exhorbitantly. I will not be forking out for this at any stage. May as well buy a Britney to smell like blueberry jam.

Got a sample of this one, and I thought it was supposed to have sweet blackberry notes????
Well, actually, it started off very green and twiggy on my skin, with some strong citrus. Not what I expected at all. No blackberries in this one at all! It did not dry down with any warmth, although I could detect a little jasmine, and it had a slightly oily, musky, masculine edge. I would definitely say this is a unisex fragrance.

sassy1: myrtille means blueberry (I love those pies and jams the french make with them), mûre means blackberry

Well, this one is absolutely like Mure Sauvage Yves Rocher, except that Mure et Musc lasts longer. So if you liked that fruity Yves Rocher scent, you’ll have to buy the same from L’Artisan. 🙂

I’ve got Eau de Mure by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, and this one I think is Eau de mure’s Elder brother (it’s logic, because the founders of Gantier came from L’Artisan). Mure et musc is more warm and cosy. I don’t feel any nasty citruses to my happines. Berries and basil mostly. I can characterize it as a smell of blueberries in the fir tree forest in a hot summer day. A very nice one.

Sampled this because of my blueberry addiction, but it was a huge disappointment. Very overpowering and boring. I guess the problem is the musk. I just can’t stand it.

My old boyfriend absolutely adored this. Most of my friends who smelled it said it was interesting. It is definitely a unique fragrance, and I’ve never smelt anything similar to it.
The musk component isn’t very strong on me, I mostly smell a grassy, slightly berry scent. Just a very subtle sweetness, but very “clean” overall. This is another scent that I would find very hard to overdose on. It’s very unobtrusive.
