My least favorite kilian. Scent smells like typical women’s body wash. Smells very cheap

I’m getting the “rice,” vetiver, and pink pepper as top notes. Once the vetiver fades, the coconut and hints of fruits emerge. Starts out very masculine before turning a bit shampooey and becoming more perfumey.
Middle notes remind me of Paris Hilton Gold Rush and Taylor Swift Taylor Swift. Drydown/base reminds me of Paris Hilton Rose Rush and Dolce&Gabbana Dolce.

Very nice fragrance, love it.. but performance is not so good, 6 to 7 hours longevity with normal projection.

This is pure magic. I’ve never smelled anything like this ever before. I strongly dislike fruity perfumes, this one on the other hand, I can’t even tell that’s it’s fruity. I can’t really detect each note from another and I’m usually very good at that, thus, that creates this magical aura about this scent. I can smell the rice, the mango, the mango smells completely realistic, I don’t know how that’s possible knowing the note is synthetic. It’s very sensual and creamy (by creamy I don’t mean yogurt or anything dairy, just very soft) , yet warm, inviting and sweet in the most intelligent way. There is something about this that is completely indescribable, it’s as if it has a note that’s a liquified feeling or emotion, like an experience.

    Soft subtle sublime.
    It’s low. It’s slow.
    In my mind’s eye
    When I smell it
    I can see the moon
    Coming into view
    From behind the slow
    Moving silver clouds
    The fragrance of Gardenia
Rises up softly to meet me
    As she draws near

I must be missing something. On me it does not smell unisex at all. I get no floral, no sweet, actually none of the notes except a peppery vetiver. I am really disappointed as I was really hoping to find a Killian frag, but on my skin its just not working. To me this is a mans fragrance. I am going to try it on my husband and see if it smells better on him. It might be a good fragrance for him.

To my nose, the listed notes are out to lunch. This is 100% white floral. It’s almost a soliflore! I recognize but can’t name the flower. Very heavy, very narcotic, very indolic. Heavy and rich and beautiful.
White florals used to be my most hated note, but perfumes like this are slowly changing my mind.
A warning though: this does trigger my allergies, although I think it’s worth the mild sneeze.

Day on the beach! I love that it has cleanliness effect. Smells tropical, fruity with fresh citrus. Would like to imagine how it could smell if something milky/soft was added to it.

  10. :

One of the best fruity fragrances, the best mango based perfume, truly among 10 best Kilians. I wished it had a better sillage, while the longevity goes around 6-7,even 8 hours. It worths back ups,it worths everything. Love it.

This one is really nice! The apricot and coconut mixture is very nice and resembles summer perfectly! Initial spray it feels like it projects, but after about 20 minutes it sits close to the skin. I’ve had it on for about an hour or so. A very beautiful scent. Not mature or age specific really. Certainly unisex. I was spraying out of a sample atomizer so perhaps I didn’t spray a lot. Irregardless a job well done by Kilian!

A heavenly tropical dessert of citrus, mango, jasmine sambac, coconut milk sticky rice and a woody vetiver. I have received many unsolicited compliments while wearing this.
Yes there are other cheaper “tropical” fragrances out there, but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. The azure refillable bottle comes in a padded compact case with a mother of pearl inlay. Refills are about $110 cheaper.
On my skin, projection is within an arm’s length, and longevity is about 10 hours.
It is not cloying, is perfect for Spring or Summer and can be worn for any occasion, day or night.
Of the many fragrances in my collection, this is one of my top 10 favorites.
    10/10

Fragrance -Moonlight in Heaven By Kilian
    Bottle from – 2017
Moonlight in Heaven is a moderatly sweet yet fresh, fruity, floral and tropical heaven with a fresh and exotic opening notes of citruses mingled with a bit syrupy and feminine mango.During mid development, creamy coconut, rice, jasmine and tuberose comes into the game and adds a bit warm and romantic breeze.
The drydown is all about tonka, vetiver, fruits and florals. Moonlight in Heaven definitely has an initial feminine feel thanks to mango. Then as it lingers on the skin,it slowly moves into a more masculine scent of vetiver and tonka with a wisper of flowers.
    Longevity – 9/10(9+ hours)
Silage/Projection – 7,5/10(moderate projection and silage for the first 2-3 hours)
Weather -best in spring and summer
    Age – 20+
    Compliments – 8/10
    Scent – 8/10
Main notes according to me – mango, grapefruit, rice, coconut, vetiver, tonka.
The drydown is a bit creamy and moderatly sweet and I get some fruitiness, vetiver, tonka and flowers.
    Emotions -tropical,exotic,positive,sensual,romantic.
Occasion -for more or less any ocasion.
You’ll get compliments with this one.

It starts off very lemony and grape-fruity. So the opening is very fruity, zesty and fresh and then after few minutes the tonka bean and the mango starts coming forward which makes it very sweet. I barely smell the coconut in there. So it does not smell like the beach or anything. So again it starts very zesty and fruity and then it turns into this sweet fruity and it almost gives that floral vibe out instead of fruity. This is definitely not unisex and is definitely for the ladies. This is actually a very heavy and classy fruity smell, so I would say it will do great for night time. The dry down is this sweet fruity/floral sweet scent which is done in a very classy way. Since it does not give out that body lotion vibe, ozonic, or even marine vibe, I would not say is tropical. Again I see this more for a night event than a daily casual thing by the beach. IMO!

I once had Swedish Moose Cheese at a fancy-ass gallery opening thing. The stuff is a thousand euros a kilo.
All these people standing around making o-faces at their crackers with gold leaf, and I’m thinking what is wrong with me, that I don’t get it?
    It’s a nice feta, but…
Moonlight in Heaven is a nice perfume.
I get some artificial coconut and a good mango popsicle, then a bridal dress store–creamy powdered lilies with a dish of foil-wrapped chocolates on a side table.
Maybe I’m just not classy enough to appreciate this properly.

Moonlight in Heaven by Kilian is a faithfully reproduced scent of mango fruit, with some coconut and lemon. It screams ‘synthetic!!!’, but not unpleasantly so. I’m just curious why anyone would wanna pay Kilian prices for something that they could get from, say, Escada, for a fraction of the price.

I’m such a sucker for a fruity little number like this, especially when it doesn’t smell cheap and this smells a million bucks to me. Despite having no qualms about wearing anything I do have a threshold and I find Moonlight in Heaven wildly effeminate and would be impossible for me to wear. Incidentally My girlfriend thought it was boring but what does she know eh?…her judgement and taste are clearly flawed. 😉
Anyway… The opening treats you to sharp grapefruit and a tropical cocktail of guava, mango running through it. It later mellows for me to a less exotic kind of mandarin but still lovely long lasting fruity top notes, that’s what I’m getting at. It’s not floral but I’d say there’s jasmine or tiare flower or something in here just lifting the whole thing and a vanillary/woody/musk base…I’m sure there’s more going on here because this is more than the sum of it’s parts. This scent doesn’t sound like much and I’m sure there’s millions of similar scents out there but it spoke to me….Perhaps it’s the pink pepper? (I do love the smell of that) it has a class and a light freshness but also a quality I enjoyed. I’d buy it for my significant other but I may have to exchange her first. 🙂

I genuinely think Moonlight in Heaven is addicting and very yummy smelling. Super juicy and ripe. If you’ve ever wanted to smell like those ultra good and luxurious shampoos, this is the one.
The problem of course lies within the price.. That opens it up to a bit more scrutiny I think.. You’re paying that much money for a perfume, so you have to ask yourself “is it worth it?”
for some it may just be a fruity scent stuffed in a pretty package, and those are a dime a dozen.. So the answer is no. But as someone who isn’t usually blown away by fruity scents, im teetering towards an “id be thrilled and beyond thankful if this fell into my lap as a gift.” Not necessarily an “Im gonna go blow 2-3 hundred bucks on a bottle because I need this.” though.
Lets just say if I ever magically become rich, its on the list of things to buy.

  19. :

    5 out of 5

I think Moonlight in Heaven is quite interesting. It’s a cocktail of tropical yellow fruit, coconut and a lot of grapefruit (especially in the beginning) , but it has a prominent masculine edge from the vetiver that differentiates it from other fruity summer scents.
It’s not totally masculine though, it’s unisex. I like it on my skin, it feels a bit tomboyish, but maybe I would like it even more on my boyfriend.
Tonka adds a hint of powdery sweetness, rice and coconut give a creamy note in the background. I also smell something woody, but this might also be a dryer facet of coconut.
I like this a lot, it’s so refreshing and summery and different! I don’t like it enough to buy a bottle at that price, but my sample will get used, I don’t know yet if on myself or on my bf.

  20. :

Disappointingly, I don’t really pick up on any citrus. I smell quite a lot of soft tonka bean, mango, and creamy coconut.
It’s gentle, clean and tropical and I can see it appealing to many people, but the lack of citrus means it’s a miss for me. Lovely bottle though, wish I liked it better and could justify ever purchasing it, just so I could have it as an object.

To me this is a cool toned, masculine coconut-infused rice pudding with lavender. Smells like Creed’s Virgin Island Water mixed with any number of mass market aromatic men’s fragrances. Interesting.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

Tropical, fruity, synthetic fun. Like a bowl full of tropical fruit Skittles with a side of coconut. Pretty linear on me, although a hint of wood pops up in the base. A bit harsh and would probably give me a headache if I gave myself more than a sampling spritz. It reminds me of Hanae Mori Magical Moon, another tropical, sweet fruity thing that was a little darker, and from my recollection that one, which I owned many moons ago, was more complex and did give me a headache. But it smelled good and also came in a pretty cobalt bottle. I’m certainly not paying the $$$ for the Kilian, but I’ll probably finish up my sample.

OH MY GOD! this perfume is incredible! as in incredibly expensive and incredibly marvellous! I was walking in harrods and got a sniff of it from a lady! She gave me sample, Ive tried it on and fell in love! I’ve never tried anything like it in my life! Sadly, it is 215 pounds for 50 ml.. maybe if i was a millionaire i’d get some every week

  24. :

There’s nothing new here. Tonka, flowers, red pepper, a little vetiver and coconut. Just a tropical summer night. Nothing special. The opening reminded me of Creed Virgin Island Water. Go with Creed!
Edit: The dry down is the beautiful part of this fragrance, if you have the patience to wait.

I am testing a lot of frags from Kilian hoping to find something nice yet they all seem to fall short. There is always this synthetic and strong alcoholic vibe lingering in the background that makes this house smell cheap for some reason. These frags if it wasn’t for the rather nice packaging they would have been a perfect match for your supermarket colognes aisle. The notes are very well described by pjd1234 and Jish80 and many others before them (this frag is way too floral to be unisex – I would classify it as a women’s perfume – ConsumerThis and landshark321 are spot on).
    Scent: 5/10
    Longevity: 6/10
    Sillage: 8/10
    Cost ratio: 0/10
    Overall: 4.75
This moonlight is not in heaven for me. Onto the next one.

Moonlight in heaven is a very warm, slightly sweet ,creamy and tropical scent. It’s clean but warm ,aromatic and mouthwatering !
It starts fresh and aromatic with a citrus topnote that’s surrounded by mouthwatering mango and coconut giving it a slightly tropical vibe.
I love the warm unique rice note that brings an Asian warm feeling ,slightly foody yet aromatic and sweet and clean all at the same time this fragrance is very warm and comforting due to the tonka and rice as well as the coconut.
This fragrance moved strait to my top shelf ,also the bottle and it’s colour is stunning and the clutch case it comes in is one of a kind.
The vetevir is great in this. It makes this fragrance fresh and clean and aromatic it gives it this ever so sexy masculine touch of a clean smelling cologne ,yet the warmth of all the other notes make it a creamy and sweet , cozy compfort scent. I have been wearing this a lot.
Amazing fragrance. One of my favourites. I love the vetevier which gives it a unisex smell , fresh and perfect !

I have been trying this out as i got an ampule amount of sample 7.5ml to be exact, its a nice tropical, summery vibe citrus on top, smell of mango in the middle not a lot of coconut detected (i wish there was more) sweet with a hint of fruit at the end very nice, but very forgettable. The over all scent leans towards the females, although a man can wear it its more on the feminine side. I will be honest though there are a lot more better summer frags than this (acqua di parma, dior to name some) especially with the hefty price tag it will definitely put off a lot. But if money is not an issue go for it. It is a great fragrance i tell you that, it’s just not worth the price kilian is asking for on this one imo.

“Moonlight in Heaven” is a nod to more straightforward American fragrances. This puts it somewhere mid-Atlantic, and drowning in a dominant mid-note of coconut (yup, we definitely needed more coconut.)
The dry down is pure SouthFla funeral home: a stifling blend of amber and lily. All the cheerfulness of L’Heure Bleu with a head cold.
    Next.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I’m not sure why there are no floral notes listed because this thing has a huge white floral presence. Think plumeria, jasmine and muget. The coconut comes off more like a fruit as sparkles on the tips of those flower petals. The dry down starts feeling more soapy TF like

Moonlight in Heaven by Kilian is a masterpiece which is designed meticulously. Not only is the scent superb, but also the bottle is eyecatching. This is a Fruity perfume with Sweet and Aromatic accords. The main notes are Mango and Coconut that are mixed with Grapefruit and Tunka. It is a great perfume in Spring and Summer for daily usage with a great Longevity and projection.

    Tropical Bliss…
This is a lovely fragrance. I love the way it combines the notes of ripe mango, grapefruit and coconut. The coconut and tonka bean give a vanilla-like feel to it which is really nice. I enjoy wearing this a lot and I think this is generally a “feel good” perfume.
This is my first Kilian fragrance and I’m impressed. It’s worth trying for the “tropical” factor. Fans of such perfumes should definitely try it out.

This is a great scent for a woman, dudes can not pull this off. I have tom ford pour femme which is a “ladies fragrance ” but I think it s 100% unisex. This is just straight femme! But it smells good. Ladies. . Don’t overlook this gem, you will love it and you will get complements! It’s a Candy sweet floral fragrance.

The newest fragrance from By Kilian, Moonlight in Heaven is the creation of one of Calice Becker, a longtime By Kilian collaborator, and this new scent ends up being one of the oddest I’ve ever smelled from the house. Fruity, floral, and slightly woody, I don’t get many of the listed notes, but certainly some are there: grapefruit, pink pepper, mango, and vetiver. It opens with a little more grapefruit and dries down into a mango/vetiver pairing, wherein I can sort of smell some of the coconut but the mango is dominant with a general floral vibe, though no flowers are listed in the notes breakdown.
Overall, the experience is an odd one. Moonlight in Heaven doesn’t smell bad to me, but its redeeming qualities are simply too limited to make me consider wearing again. It mainly comes off like a fruity/floral mix, which I generally regard as feminine combination when the fruits are not strictly citruses.
As many men seem to like it, it is reasonably unisex and wearable, but performance is mediocre, as it projects for a little while (around an hour) but dries down reasonably quickly.
At standard By Kilian pricing of $285 for 50ml, this, as with most in the house, has to be a “love” in order to be bottle-worthy. It certainly isn’t for me. Sample first!

I tested Moonlight in Heaven when it was first released. Seemed too Feminine for the Alpha Male type of guy I am. I don’t mind unisex florals, rose has grown on me and in today’s perfumery, it’s blended well.
The last few days it has been hyped. I decided to test it again. NO. This will be a pass. It’s a Woman’s fragrance. If you’re a Man and could pull this off go right ahead. I have several By Kilians and none are close to feminine as this.

This is HEAVEN for sure! One of the most sophisticated and fine opening!Pure luxury in a bottle!Really really love it and want a full bottle! The sweet mango with the toka beans makes this scent one of the best!

Super nice! The best way to describe this scent is “tropical”. It’s like a pina colada with mango instead of pineapple. It’s smooth and lactonic and would be perfect for the hottest months of the year in dead summer. It does remind me of a number of sweet celebrity scents in that it has a people-pleasing, foody, sweet vibe. Quite a nice one!

Scent – grapefruit, tonka bean, lemon & mango.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night.
    Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 8hrs consistently.

Just got my sample in the mail today…
    My first impressions…
A very nondesript quietly clean smelling scent.
More masculine smelling as it dried on my wrist than you would imagine.
    Reminds me of a scent…
a boyfriend might wear..out to impress
    His business buddies …
After the gym or tennis match
There are faint abstract floral fruit notes assembled throughout
Like a odd abstract painting ….
Going back to the type of ex boyfriend that might wear this
He owns this odd abstract painting
not because he has any emotional attachment to it …nor is it bright and cheerful colors..
    But rather because its
    a Julian Shnabel Plate Painting
and the gallery told him it has resale value.
Owning the painting as with wearing this scent
wont in any way impress your date ….
A Summer scent for its vague fruity notes?
… i failed to sniff out and get the Coconut & Rice notes
That should have made it a Tropical Asian Dessert
Not something id run out and buy…
    Sorry ….
Perhaps another new fragrance..that isnt for me. Darn!

The sales lady at Harrods gave me a sniff of this one. It is good but I prefered Apple Brandy or Vodka on the Rocks.
It has that summer/beach vibe in it (must be the mango and the coconut) but I needed to try it again and again in order for me to decide. It is really good but I need more tryout’s of this one

Tropical. Sweet. Fresh. Summery. Sparkling. I like it a lot. Perfect for a holiday in the sunshine. It smells clean and bright on my skin. I was sent a sample and I’m seriously contemplating purchasing it. Not the typical powerhouse by Killian fragrance but very good indeed.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Not nearly as interesting as several other fragrances by Kilian. In fact, if it weren’t for the nice bottle with Kilian name attached I would think it was very pedestrian (but psychology plays a part). Not horrible, just boring for me, and therefore not worth the price. Sweet, tropical-like, nondescript fragrance. The dry down is reminiscent of laundry detergent.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

First off, I have to say the bottle is stunning. Such a beautiful shade of blue. It reminds me of Tanzanite – One of my favourite gemstones.
The scent starts out with a burst of sparkling coconut. Initially it reminds me of Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc or Carven’s L’Absolue but that after only a few seconds that subsides, and the lemon and mango begin to shine through without being overly sweet. Together these notes, along with the pink pepper, give off a fabric softener type scent. Not a bad thing! This fragrance is tropical and clean.
As with most Kilian fragrances, I find Moonlight in Heaven to be incredibly long lasting.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

Enjoyed it initially however the dry down has a note which is reminiscent of cat urine. Apologies for my less than sophisticated comparison. I’ve smelt the note in other fragrances but not sure what it is.

  45. :

Just tried this on a Harrods and it smells very good!!
The mango and coconut is very pronounced but in a well-rounded way.
If you’ve been to Thailand and have tried Mango sticky rice, it smells exactly that!! Mango, coconut and rice … Very delicious and tropical. It’s a very sunny perfume that makes me want to fast forward to the summer!
It’s only been half an hour though so can’t comment on the longevity yet.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

I was curious about this fragrance because I’ve liked others by Calice Becker, and the notes seemed interesting.
Moonlight in Heaven starts with the traditional burst of citruses. At its heart, it feels fairly fruity, and the mango seems to dominate the composition at least initially. The mango, however, while somewhat sweet, is never truly juicy; in fact, it remains restrained.
The coconut is not particularly pronounced. It makes an appearance toward the middle stages for me and remains as part of the base. It imparts a vaguely creamy dimension to the overall effect, along with whatever the “rice” notes may be.
The base, which lingers on my skin, is quiet, not fruity any longer, but rather abstractly sweet and abstractly milky. I love mango in real life and coconut, but they could be tricky to capture in a perfume. While Moonlight in Heaven didn’t wow me, I’ve come to appreciate how the mango mingles with the soft coconut references, creating, indeed, a tropical effect.

It’s like a summer night fragrance, but nothing special

Seems like it’ll be very night-time tropical. Can’t wait to try…well a sample at least.
