This fragrance has such an interesting opening; slightly sweet and metallic floral with a base of smooth polished leather and balsamic bite.
Over time, however, the single and overwhelming sickly sweet musk takes over on my skin. It reminds me of all the equally interesting, but unwearable by me, musk based fragrances by A Lab on Fire.
If ALoF works for you, try this too. If they don’t, you might want to pass.

Top: Incense, myrrh.
Middle: Iris, patchouli.
Base: Musk, leather, ambergris.
This is a perfume pyramid according to Morph.
Morph has tales for their perfumes. Montmartre tells about a Moulin Rouge dancer who has a magic ampoule of perfume that leaves everyone who smells it happy and smiling. I was curious enough to read the story as I could not connect the perfume notes with Montmartre vibes in my mind.
Does this fragrance make me smile? Yes. Because I could never imagine myrrh smelling so cold, so refined. I don’t smell much leather here. On me it unfolds with slightly sweet incense notes and becomes a cold floral scent with strong musky nuances. I get whiffs of leather from time to time, but it’s very refined and smooth here so never becomes dominant. Overall, It’s a clean incense-musk tandem, very light in feel and purely elegant.
Montmartre (place) would smell more art-y to me, warm, messy. Morph’s Montmartre is really extremely refined. Cold and mysterious. Like those dark narrow streets of Montmartre at night. Huh!
It’s a shame Morph’s perfumes come in 100 ml bottles only. I’d get smaller one for sure.

The fragrance profile here is missing the IRIS which is a prominent feature giving this lovely frag a crisp metallic bite. There is also myrrh and incense from the Morph website. This is the long lasting, high projecetion, smoky Iris I love and have been searching for.More powerful than Aedes de Venustas’s Iris Nazarena for longevity and sillage. Longer lasting than Prada Iris Absolue. This one is a keepeer. Thanks Cereza for the split.Get yourself a taste of Heaven.

For me it is not only musk, leather, amber.
It is: tobacco leaves, glowing charcoal, soft, a bit musky, a bit suede, a bit sweet (cinnamon-honey) with a hint of spiciness.
In the beginning even incense and wood.
Surprisingly light perfume.

“Montmartre Morph”
Its starts smooth rubbery quit sweet smoky leather opening , then gets more musky little animalic , the amber here plays the special game together with a specific licorice vibe in the depth that makes the aroma tasty, distinctive , captivating & original .
I see “Montmartre” have a trendy leathery modern style & uniqueness as Ciurelle , Colonia leather ADC Etc, which I like too much in the perfumery . not the same smell but i mean the same modern style .
“Montmartre” its wearable & kind of unique leather scent , Italian school but french name ,modern, deep, sensual & mysterious .
Urban metropolis uniqueness
9/10.

“Montmartre” is an excellent soft, feminine leather based fragrance! The wonderful combination of light, clean leather with cozy musk is only enhanced by the slight sweet/warm hint of amber. It played around for more than 12 hours, projecting strong. What I enjoyed the most – even though it’s rather simple, only few visible notes, they keep playing around, every phase is dominated by either musk or leather, making this a rather unique and interesting expierence, despite the simplicity.
It’s 100% worth a try, a really nice, playful scent. Safe for everyday situations and special events. Completey unisex.
“Montmartre” retails for 108 EUR/100ml and for this price it’s an excellent example for elegance.

Not a scent which matches my (false) expectations when i think of the Moulin Rouge dancers, pearls, feathers, boa’s and all. More the place of its cellar.
I ordered a sample and spritzed it on. I do think this is an interesting and beautiful scent. But not to wear as a perfume on me. It reminded me of the following:
An old wooden used bees crate with remnants of dried up honey in a old dark dusty storage cellar of a cafe. On the crate there was some anise liquor and a droplet of gin spilled. In the crate lies some old English liquorices.
Maby I didn’t give it enough time. It’s ok, but definitely not for me.
