Montauk is a fruity aromatic woods. The fragrance starts out pretty fresh and optimistic. With deep aromatics, fresh and semi-aquatic, projecting something like bruised fruit. Accenting this aqueous accord is a nice warming tinge—slightly abrasive and nicely artistic—provided by a half-way decent driftwood note.
My sample with Montauk wasn’t a full one, but from what I did pick up, it seems to start getting a little too chilly for comfort in the drydown. The warming tinge (and its stimulation) entirely burns out, inviting this very chilly green-blue aromatic quality to take precedence. It was kind of stingy—and hazy in a bad way. And from the warm welcome, leaves you feeling all alone and deserted.
Given this fact, it’s hard for me to even consider Montauk decant worthy. It’s nice and fresh, a bit warming, and welcoming, and versatile; but only in the opening. The current version wouldn’t make much better than a decent soap—or beauty bar for the hands.
Holding back I would assume. Bad market strategy. And with that, the greater potential of this fragrance is lost for everybody. Including the masses of the 99% that could never afford to actually live in Montauk—but whose collective revenue could easily afford a pretty piece of it.

This was one of many Bonds i hadn’t got around to sampling. Well, i finally did.
It immediately smelled familiar to me. To me, this smells like a cross between Chez Bond and Riverside Drive, both of which are masculine scents. I also get a little bit of Wall St via the “driftwood” note i think. I really don’t find anything “beachy” about this scent at all, more like a city Summer scent.
I really can’t speak much on the notes, but i wanted to convey my thoughts on what i think this smells like. It’s not bad, in fact it’s really nice, just not what i anticipated.
After about 2 dozen samplings, I’m finding some of the stuff in the Bond lineup to be a bit repetitive or redundant, and this is among them in my opinion. While that may sound insulting, it’s not; the nuances are what separate them, and that’s up to you to find which one works better for you. For me personally, i would probably pick Riverside over this, and Chez Bond over that.

This is Exactly like Bond 9 Wall Street but a little more softer. Not Too Loud. And Definitely more masculine than feminine.

Montauk is a very nice frag…one of my favorite Bond’s in terms of scent alone. Longevity is quite good for a “freshie”, though nowhere near Bond’s usual nuclear level.lol
Only worn it a couple times, but my GF liked it….not a over the top “you smell SOOOOOO good”. But a enthusiastic “I like that!” with a head nod of approval. I find this to lean slightly more feminine in the drydown IMHO. Very nice fresh offering from the house of Bond.

A very good citrusy, summer scent. While I thoroughly enjoy this scent, it doesn’t necessarily set itself apart from the hundreds of other great designer and niche scents that might be lighter on the wallet. I might seek out other, less expensive leafy citrus scents before I pulled the trigger on this one again. If you’re looking for Montauk 3.3oz at a great price let me know. I’m currently selling mine 🙂

I tried this one from my samples from Bond. It is a great summer scent for us who enjoy that particular perfume. I recieved a few compliments on this juice as well. It smells nice and fresh with some fruity and salty notes with a touch of sweetness. In Belize on the beach with a giant fresh fruit comes to mind!

Moderate sillage and moderate lasting power. This smelled nice to me and worth it if you looove the scent. Don’t expect this to last as long as some of their other perfumes. This is by no means synthetic or head ache inducing. It is a fresh scent, and very feminine with a hint of something salty? Maybe that is the oak with the bergamot.

A real miss for Bond 9, this reminds me of that cheap free sample that always comes in Fragrancenet orders
It’s a synthetic, headache inducing smell

I liked it. It’s nice for summer. It’s floral, fresh, green. The opening is inviting and it might be because it’s aromatic. Great for day time use. It lasts, to me is more masculine than feminine. Try it.

It is not that I consider this bad. As a matter of factly, I shared this perfume with my colleague since it smells like black currant and lilly on her.
On me however I feel that this perfume turned masculine on me. Bay leaf was strong, pronounced and lingered. I missed out on all florals and went straight to woody.
Longevity I should admit super lasting as I could still smell bay leaf after shower and when faintly in the morning on my wrist after I woke up.
