Description

The fashion house of Lanvin launches Modern Princess under the Interparfums license in July 2016 as the new chapter of Lanvin perfumes. Lanvin manifests the new, modern vision of a woman as a rebellious adventurer of free spirit: “Glamorous, untamed and fiercely sensual, she uses her own free will, playing with secrets and certainties. She has never been held prisoner of anything, nor of anyone. She creates her own destiny. Her freedom is precious. “

The creator, perfumer Christophe Raynaud of Firmenich, describes it as a sexy floral fragrance full of texture, emotion and sensoriality, inspired by the red color: ”Red is synonymous with passion, sensuality and intensity. It’s the colour of love, but also of the forbidden. It is irresistibly attractive and fascinating; tempting like an addictive fruit.”

Top notes are fresh and invigorating and youthful with succulent Pink Lady apple and red currant. Middle notes are more feminine; the dual character of jasmine, delicate and carnal at the same time, blends with freesia flower. Base notes represent assertive femininity with velvety white musk, luxurious blonde woods and sensual vanilla orchid.

The face of the perfume is Spanish model Steffy Argelich, shot by Jérémmie Rozan. The glass bottle, designed by Carré Basset, is decorated with a gold chain around its neck. The red box features the white logo. The fragrance is available as a 30, 60, 90 ml Eau de Parfum.

Fresh, sweet, soft. The name is really appropriate, this fragrance is for a romantic and feminine girl. The dominant note on my skin is the juicy, appetizing apple, but i can also smell the vanilla orchid very well.
This perfume is not really original, but it is well blended and has enough character to be someone‘s signature. I wouldn‘t buy it for me, but wouln‘t mind wearing it if i got it as a gift. I think it is a good choice for girly girls who don’t like overly sweet or overly fresh fragrances.
    7/10

Well, to me it smells like sour candy. Not sure how I feel about it… It’s a fun perfume, though maybe not as suitable if you’re older than 22.

Fruity, sour, fresh. Pretty and light. Reminds me a touch of e’clat d’arpege in the opening. Too similar to DKNY delicious line and other cheap fruities though. More for a teenager/very young woman.
Sillage and projection pretty soft. A bit much to start with. I like this. Feel the EDT stands out and projects a bit more. The EDT is more mature and as such I probably prefer that.

I was looking for a new perfune im usually a gourmand lover so stay away from perfumes like this but..i though i would have a smell as it was new and i was very plesently surprised! It has something in it that makes me keep sniffing it, i wanted something different and i got it, its simple but delicious i have been commented on it already and ive only been wearing it for 1 hour, i dont know about it smelling like other perfumes as when i try out new ones either musk or floral stand out on my skin wich im not a fan of personally so this is nice. First sparay is like a pop of red apple with a gentle floral and as it warms and develops the vanilla just turns everything creamy and soft with that hint oc tartness to keep ot from being sickly sweet. I like it 🙂

Hysterical. I see this being reviewed and before I click on the review I say to myself that the first main accord will be fruity. And the name. Seriously. That’s all.

I love the apple-redcurrant combo, could be one of the best spring scents I own BUT longevity is nonexistant:(

Hmmm… how to put this straight…
    BORING!

Uninteresting fruity floral. All these notes sound not catchy and childish. Maybe it’s really for young princesses.

Love at first sniff! It smells like a fig-less version of Byredo Pulp. Such an addictive, mouthwatering floral fruity. I had to have it despite its silly name (which might not sound so silly if you are very young).

This quickly became a favorite after my dad bought it at the airport for my mom. I love the opening notes of juicy fruit and sour red currant. If the opening notes are day then the dry down is night; edgy and chic at the same time. I get a very strong note of tobacco, and am surprised that nothing in the break down suggests of this. A pleasant surprise from a seemingly glammy perfume. Perhaps not a master piece of a perfume, but a very solid performance indeed.

This one is soooo nice. Tested this last week while browsing the duty free shelves. The opening combination of apple and red currant comes across as a very realistic, freshly picked strawberry with a little leaf attached. While it dries down the flowers become more present and the dry down is a little woody and musky with a hint of the mentioned strawberry. It’s not overtly young, nor very sweet. A great scent for young princesses or anyone who loves a soft & fresh scent. Very refreshing to see something else on the market aside of the uber sweet patchouli bombs or so called niche perfumes (a label a lot of perfumes/houses start to claim). Haven’t smelled something like this before and my boyfriend loved this one the most out of all I’ve tried. Will get a bottle of this in the future for sure. Speaking of bottles – very nice without frills.
You cannot please them all, all the time.I for one am happy to see a new perfume aside of the Eclat line and the classics since “Me” didn’t cut it for me 🙂

I was surprised to see lanvin modern princess in a local perfume shop because I even didn’t know that it exists.it’s gorgeous bottle caught my eyes and I sprayed it on my wrist and loved it!simple as that!
I knew most perfumistas will see it as another silly fruityfloral nonsense.I won’t completely disagree because there’s nothing earth shattering here.it reminds me many other perfumes but I can’t put my finger on a specific one.I know that it’s not unique but this isn’t an important case when I like how a perfume smells on my skin
When I first sprayed it I knew nothing about it’s notes.apple and red curruent are easy to detect in most perfumes but they were not what came to my mind at first sniff.I thought berries, like the berries in viva la juicy noir,or probably raspberry and some other mouth waterlingly delicious fruits, vanilla and a hint of strawberry milkshake!
Modern princess is sweet but not heavily sugary or syrupy sweet.it has a little amount of lovely fruity tartness but not that one can consider it a sour scent.it’s delicious but in a fruity way.flowers stay light and soft and blend very well with other notes.musk and woody notes are even softer.the vanilla that I can feel in it,isnt too much and overpowering.it’s just there to ground slightly tarte fruits in a soft sweet milky cream. though it’s a sweet scent,it has some sort of fresh and clean vibe.I believe it’s very aptly named.it’s definitely modern and suits a pretty, girly princess but not that it’s not wearable by an adult lady.it can make a nice daily perfume also good for a girls day out, even a date.it’s also wearable year round except winters
For me it’s not a red scent.it’s colorful, like the mix of red and different shades of pink
Longevity was acceptable, moderate on my skin but I can’t talk about it’s sillage yet.it doesn’t seem strong but is definitely noticable.I believe it can be a great gift for a young lady or anyone who likes modern fruityflorals.
I’m definitely going to buy it if I find a good deal.however I like it and I see it a well done fruity floral,I can’t justify to pay more than 40$ for it

A sharp, unpleasant biting nose perfume. It smells so boring and cheap.

This one is fresh, sweet, soapy and young. It has small sharp side-effect, maybe because of red currant. Base is soft, powdery ang lightly woody. Remains me a little bit of Jeanne Arthes’s Lover fragrance.
Quite a light sillage, sadly fade away quickly and leaves on the skin only a hint of powdery and fruity smell.
Safe choice for everyday use, doesn’t irritate easily. Modern princess is quite nice, (even though nothing really special) but because of poor longevity, I can’t recommend it.

Not great. They tried too hard with this one. It’s sweet and fruity but it’s so… SHARP. Like the fruit cuts your nose off and makes you smell it. It doesn’t wear well. It would be better suited to a bathroom spray or fabric febreeze.

I tried it today and it immediately reminded me of Joop All About Eve, apple and cinnamon, pretty scent.

Truly joyful apple bubblegum scent. Simple but lovely. Subtle so good for almost every kind of weather and occasion. The bottle is an absolute beauty.
Update: it’s very fruity and quite sweet, but it’s not that kind of syrupy, heavy sweetness. It reminds me of summers of my childhood at my grandma’s – lots of apples, lots of red currants.

The scent is very fruity, lots of berries and red apples. It seems to have a good sillage and longevity, at least it fills my room.
I know it’s no modern classic, but I wouldn’t be so critical about it, because the scent is good.
Simple and a bit generic indeed, but not bad smelling or offensive.
It could make a good everyday fragrance. A fresh and a bit tart.
I haven’t tried the classics from Lanvin, there’s nowhere to try them, but this is what’s modern right now and so it just is.

Everything’s gone wrong with Lanvin since departure of Alber Elbaz. Well deserved lowest shelf even at duty free stores. Modern drama.

Is this a marketing experiment rather than perfumery one? See by Chloe + with Modern Muse + influences from the house of Herrera… et voila? Disgrace.

I think it’s a young version of Burberry for women.

This is a sweet pretty perfume. I was drawn to it. It smells of apples, freesia jasmine and woods. It was unfortunate they discontinued it but I guess it wasn’t popular enough. At times it did get pretty boring and smelled mostly of pure freesia but I happen to love freesia. I also love apple scents. Fruity floral and girly. The name Modern Princess was cool as I like to think of myself as a modern princess. Not bad just not for the ages.

Poor Lanvin, you’ll soon be sold in supermarkets.
This fragrance hasn’t got Lanvin spirit at all, it’s a generic fragrance for “a globalized consumer”.
It should at least have a French name. Even brands from abroad give a French name to their fragrances to have a luxury cachet.
Well, they cannot have Kendall, so it’s not Modern Muse, it’s Modern Princess, lol

Agree with previous commentaries. This looks (from the bottle to the notes) like a cheap clone of See by Chloé (a pretty unremarkable fragance, by the way). And the name seems to pray on the Vera Wang perfumes line (neither are they great). Very lazy, vulgar and unimaginative. Very unworth of Lanvin.

Bottle and packaging are looking like See by Chloe.

Where are Arpège, My Sin or Scandal ? Everything seems to be soooooooooo boring now !
