This is the “orange” portion of the Colori collection – which is a breakout set of the four main groups of notes comprising the Missoni perfume from 2006. The other are Rosa, Gianduia and Giallo.
Initially a very bright and cheerful burst of mandarin and bitter orange – I don’t really get the loquat – probably because they don’t have much odor of their own. It’s very refreshing and similar to the effect that one gets when first applying Hermes D’Orange Vert Concentre. Sadly, that refreshing phase goes away at a steady rate and reveals a somewhat synthetic smelling citrus that slowly fades into a quietly sweet/woody scent.
I’m having luck layering it over heavier ambers and patchoulis as it gives them a bright, modern lift. Considering the rest of the Colori collection that this comes from, maybe this is the way it’s meant to be used – like a finishing twist of rind over a cocktail.
