Description
“Mysterious Meta. This furtive fragrance arrives like a late night knock at the speak-easy; it slips in with a secret gesture, waving a sort of perfunctory fragrance code across the landscape of your body. You may think… OK, it’s nice… but now what? Fifteen minutes later a wave of wonderful crashes over you and you realize Meta has fully arrived. This fragrance really blooms – for me, it’s a gorgeous slow-reveal of heavy, luscious, oriental scents with aged Sumatran patchouli taking centre-stage. Meta‘s a dry amber with a liquid centre, not too heavily dosed with vanillic syrup, but sweet enough to cajole the earthy woodiness into a hot embrace.
The all-new batch is – in my biased opinion – the best yet of all my fragrances. Sometimes they just have a mind of their own and they click together like I had nothing to do with composing the formula, it just chose me to pour the ingredients all together. This one is the Mistress-in-Charge of all seductive perfumes. Ever! Meta” – a note from the brand.
Meta by Teone Reinthal Natural Perfume is a Oriental Woody fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Meta was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Teone Reinthal. The fragrance features patchouli, amber and vanilla.

Mysterious Meta indeed – here is deepest alchemy.
Something is given up in any act of creation and Meta is no exception.
Meta (Kafka’s second incarnation) reveals an earthy amber blast but is oh so much more – as a wave of patchouli and vanilla breaks – somehow producing this amazingly balanced scent. It is like a golden afternoon.
Reminds me of Autumn, burning off after gathering the fallen timber, sap secrets bursting into flame and hissing sweet aromatic oils, mingled with the breath of citrus blossom from the orchard – a heavenly experience. You would swear there was oranges going on here as well.
This perfume is devastatingly good, it has a power and sweetness yet is gorgeously in tune as each moment unfolds. This must be up there with Teone’s best, and it can hold its own with the big brass for sure.
Meta is young, it is old, it is all things; it holds the sacred chord in its heart and unfurls it generously. It is the metamorphosis of birth, death, and regeneration in a bottle. Truly sublime.

In a word, LUSH. Teone Reinthal’s amber fragrances are some of the best I’ve had the pleasure of owning or wearing, and this, without a doubt, is absolutely one of the finest.
Deeply opulent, warm, sensuous amber, heavily laden with a heady, almost narcotic, densely fragrant vanilla, and beautifully embraced by a sweet, ultra fluffy, ambrette. This is no gourmand, but it IS good enough to eat. Light jasmine and a rich, creamy, sandalwood in the base only makes this masterpiece even more beautiful. It’s sensual, luxurious and enveloping, like a soft, warm, pure pashmina. Its completely lavish, and utterly compelling.
If you’re an amber/vanilla/ambrette lover, then there is no way you should walk past this one.

Originally named KAFKA, I wrote a review for it on 24th January 2017. So here’s a copy and paste:
“It took a very Cold day here in the equatorial tropics for me to fall in love with this fragrance. Torrential downpours that last the whole day, flooding streets. Powerful air conditioning in an empty restaurant situated in a 1900s colonial building (probably haunted). That is as cold as it gets here anyway.
Kafka smells like a frosting of white sparkly sugar crystals on my skin and candied Jasmine petals in my hair. It’s pure incandescence and sweet-toothed pleasures, like sucking on a sugar cube dipped in golden honeyed tea. I wouldn’t describe it as a candy gourmand, because it’s firmly in the floral/Amber category. But Kafka makes me feel like a sexy candy cane dressed up in silver spangles, a delectable last course for someone to unwrap.
It has become my de facto date perfume. Layered with Teone’s Mokaya, a masterful tobacco-centered scent, it’s pure sensual magic. “Hello beautiful stranger”….
(In warm weather, the ambrette gets emphasised a lot more and it’s definitely more musky.)”
