Description

Aerin Lauder adds floral-citrusy fragrance to her collection of fragrances. The new edition was inspired by dedicated to honeysuckle. Name of the fragrance MEDITERRANEAN HONEYSUCKLE was created as ‘an escape to the sunny azure Mediterranean’.

Their composition is based on a blend of luminous and sunny citruses blended with an intoxicating and sweet floral bouquet.
Sweet honeysuckle and luminous grapefruit will take us to the Mediterranean beaches. The composition is accompanied with Italian bergamot warmed with sun and mandarin oil, making floral notes juicier. The floral bouquet, besides honeysuckle, allures us with lily of the valley, gardenia and sambac jasmine absolute.

The fragrance is available in a bottle characteristic of Aerin Lauder‘s collection, in the amounts of 50 and 100ml Eau de Parfum. What separates this flacon from the others is its azure blue stopper. One can choose between body cream and body bath from the accompanying body care collection with the same fragrant notes.
Mediterranean Honeysuckle was launched in 2015.

I love citrus based scents but this is a pass. I’m testing a gift-with-purchase manufacturer’s sample. It oddly reminds me of a bathroom disenfectant mixed with a Target brand citrus automatic dish soap I have used in the past. I barely detect the honeysuckle note. Starts off loud and then completely dissapears in 90 minutes (which I’m realizing is a good thing). Adding insult to injury, it’s ridiculously expensive for what I would call a typical drugstore perfume.

I got the rollerball today. This does smell lovely: a citrus/honeysuckle/floral. It’s a rather fresh, innocent scent, somewhat in the same vein of Clinique’s Happy. Unfortunately it is so very disappointingly weak. I am rolling it all over both arms and my entire neck/upper chest area to get the level of sillage that I want. I will not repurchase. If they came out with an intense version however….

I received a sample of this perfume today, and I really love the scent. It’s juicy and fresh, and I adore the honeysuckle note in it. It does not have very good longevity, and it only lasts a few hours on my skin. I wish it lasted longer, but this is a beautiful perfume for the warmer spring and summer months when heavy perfumes can be too much for some people. Give this one a try!

That’s a very pretty grapefruit and Mandarin scent!

Maybe I’m biased because I chose this fragrance to wear on my trip to Italy and now the moment I smell it,I’m propelled back to that beautiful vacation but I find this scent lovely, soft and sparkling. It has enough citrus notes to keep it from being a floral bomb,in general florals are not my cup of tea but this one works for me!

This is a gorgeous scent, but it disappears completely in a few hours on me. At this price point I cannot accept that.
Personally I mainly get honeysuckle, gardenia and grapefruit notes. The lily of the valley and jasmine are disappearingly weak.

VERY pricey for a scent that isn’t honeysuckle enough for me. When I wear it I layer it with Bath & Body Works Wild Honeysuckle, which I actually like better. My favorite honeysuckle fragrance was Avon’s which unfortunately is long discontinued.

Not bad, but nothing special at this price. Honeysuckle is disappointingly faint for a perfume called Mediterranean Honeysuckle. More lily of the valley and citrus, a hint of minty spice. Drydown becomes tea with lemon.
Out of the 10 or so perfumes in this line, my favorite is Ikat Jasmin. It’s a pretty white floral with at least a bit of character. Lilac Path comes in second as a well-designed cocoction, though I don’t care to wear it myself. (To be fair, I haven’t tested Gardenia Rattan yet.)

It reminds me citron tea. Smells very citrus-like. I asked my husband what he thinks of the smell and he said “Not bad”… I mean “not bad” is like getting C+ at school. Im not satisfied with the result, it has to be at least “i like it” (B) or better yet “very nice” (A). This perfume is just ok.

Fizzy grapefruit over very sheer honeysuckle. Warm, sparkling, like a light glass of sparkling wine that’s been left out to air on the sunny coast. It is grapefruit dominant as others have said, so in that respect I was disappointed by this fragrance as I was expecting more honeysuckle and blind bought the travel spray. It is pretty though, light, and inoffensive, one of those scents that is easy to wear on warmer days in a multitude of situations. I’d call it a friendly, happy smell, but not quite what I’m looking for in a honeysuckle.

My mom (and even my grandmother) wear Mediterranean Honeysuckle! Smells so beautiful!

This brought back memories of Bath & Body Works Imagine Happiness. I’m pretty sure they don’t actually smell alike but there’s a similar feel. It’s a cool white floral. Pretty and clean. Unfortunately I didn’t get much honeysuckle which was a bit disappointing.

There is honeysuckle at the very heart of this. But it really is a lightly citrus fragrance with floral underneath. Is it a must buy? Meh. I would say this is the best of the Aerin fragrances with exception of the new tuberose collection. It sure beats that other tangier vanille that just smells like play doh. I think this is overpriced and while it’s nice there are many other fragrances out there that are much more classy seductive fresh what have you at this price point. I think this is pretty much a waste of money.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t get honeysuckle from this—like, at all : maybe it’s just my body chemistry, but I get GRAPEFRUIT, Grapefruit, and more grapefruit—at every stage of development. not what I was expecting AT ALL…
that said, despite the fact that the name Mediterranean Honeysuckle is a total miss for me, I like this fragrance: it’s bright, fresh, outdoorsy, VERY citrus-y, and has decent staying power. (side note: it reminds me very strongly of Liz Sport by Liz Claiborne from the late 90s, altho’ it took me FOR.E.VER to think of the name, lol) I’ll likely grab this when I want something…well, fresh and sporty
this is definitely a daytime fragrance for me, and seems best suited to late spring / summer / early fall

To me it reminds me of the discontinued Spring Fever by Origins (an EL company) so, so much.. first thing I thought of when I tested it. It is a great summer scent. One thing though..I also bought the body cream. Oh God, it reeked of masculine mens cologne! Nothing like the fragrance at all…I wonder what was up with that..

As others have said here, this is a very pleasant, citrusy, sunny, grapefruit scent with a hint of flowers, but I wouldn’t say it has a lot of honeysuckle. I like its cheerful, sparkling opening, and the drydown was fine on my skin; I agree with another commenter that the citrus notes lasted longer than I expected, which is a plus. However, the price is much too high for this. I think Un Jardin Sur le Nil is far superior, and easy to find at reasonable prices. If you love citrus, though, you would like this. Just don’t pay full price!

I’ll repeat what has already been said, this is a sparkling grapefruit scent. It’s quite lovely, like sipping grapefruit mimosas overlooking the ocean on a crisp day in early summer. If you’re looking for honeysuckle, you may be disappointed.

This could be another Jardin Sur…… by Hermes.
Very citrus, Fizzy, clear, a breeze of joy.

I’m fun of fresh citrus-floral perfumes, so when I smell this on the paper strip I told myself that this will be my signature forever. You can clearly notice sparking light sweet smell of honeysuckle, juicy grapefruit and bergamot. My chemistry works well with white flowers so I knew that this must perfectly work. How sad I was when I tried it on my skill….On me, this was some generic light smell, without any spirit. Even anything what would be worth that price. Shame, because the smell is very well blended and I believe, that to somebody can fit perfectly.

I didn’t like this when I first sprayed it but it dried down to a pretty pure honeysuckle. I have never had much luck finding a real honeysuckle scent, and honeysuckle is the scent in my garden that I really love the most.
Unfortunately I will most likely hold off buying a full size as this scent becomes a very close skin scent on me within a couple of hours.

I usually love fresh citrusy scents, but I strongly dislike this. It’s fresh and citrus in all the wrong ways, like a bathroom disinfectant.

I will have to echo that this is really not all about honeysuckle. I mean, yeah, it’s a player, but this opens fresh sparkly pink grapefruit and dries down into soft white flowers I can’t really pick apart without some effort.
More than anything, it reminds me of a grown-up version of a pink grapefruit body spray I had and loved 20+ years ago. Long since discontinued, I am glad to find its ghost resurrected in this fragrance, and with the .3 oz going for song right now, I might have to grab a few more, which is saying a lot for someone who has new signature scent every season…

It’s fresh, clean, crisp, I could see it possibly being a little sharp for some, but it is not sharp for me. For me, it is just lovely, a more mature woman’s fragrance (around aged 40’s). Kind of fancy/classy and sophisticated smelling, but mainly very fresh.
The Aerin fragrances are fast becoming some of my faves, my ‘go-to’ fragrances on days I don’t know ‘what’ to wear. I just find them to be simple, classy and very classic and easy to wear. I now have this, as well as Lilac Path, Tangier Vanille, and Amber Musk, and I greatly enjoy each one and plan on purchasing probably all the others, or more of the Aerin fragrances, anyway. I just find them to be ‘womanly,’ not little girl, not overly sweet, not cloying. Just very nicely done. Not the greatest for longevity, and is not room-filling, but sometimes that is exactly what you want or need.

The lily of the valley ruined this one for me. I do not understand why the honeysuckle note was not made more prominent.

I missed the train with Anick Goutal’s Chevrefeuille. It is now discontinued and I repent not buying it when I had the chance.
Well, this is stunning. Aerin has an amazing talent for making florals, and I fell in love with her way of making perfume after buying Tuberose Gardenia.
Mediterranean Honeysuckle opens with pomelo, and it is quite similar to Jour D’Hermes in the pure parfum version. The actual flowers of honeysuckle come after a few minutes, the pomelo subsides but never disappears. As the honeysuckle grows in intensity , the juiciness is replaced by a full bloom of white flowers. It is beautiful, pure, virginal . Honeysuckle is such a classy note , that hasn’t been overly used like Jasmine or Rose. Still, I wish it would stay as pure honeysuckle and not get any other white flower notes mixed in.
The perfume lacks sensuality. It’s simply beautiful and natural smelling without much sofistication.
The bottle and the entire presentation is beautiful too, but I was disappointed that the “stone ” on the lid is not a real stone. Good imitation though.
The silage is soft, the lasting power average.
The price ? I think it’s overpriced… at $175+tax it should have been much more concentrated.
Still, I was always attracted to these natural smelling scents so it’s love for me. Next on my list to try is the Lilac Path.

Mostly white floral with a citrus background. Very LOTV. No honeysuckle. Moderate silage, lasted about 5 hours on a warm day.

I personally get plenty of honeysuckle!!! It is fresh, pretty, like a warm spring breeze!! It is a very pleasant, very easy to wear scent…I am surprised by the negative reviews!! It is like sitting on a bench looking over the Mediterranee on a warm summer morning!! Breezy, not overly floral…the Aerin Lauder all have that stylish vibe … bright , happy, pretty!! I don’t find it overly citrusy either.

I love and adore Aerins lilac path and this is my second favourite of her perfumes.
The projection of this one is slight, it’s a subtle scent even up close but I still love it. I wish it were stronger but I still smell honeysuckle as the most prominent aspect, with lime and then grapefruit following. There is also a sweet, watery quality to this perfume that makes it perfectly dreamy.
Slightly sweet, somewhat tart, divine honeysuckle.
This smells neither cheap nor particularly expensive, young nor old. It’s just a lovely scent.
It’s probably more expensive than it should be but i still want a bottle.(the bottles are gorgeous!)
The real issue with this perfume is its longevity. After an hour it’s nothing but a skin scent. Still beautiful, but very subtle. All trace of scent is gone within 6 hours. It won’t stick to skin, fabric or paper yet it sticks out in my mind.
Edit: After some time and additional consideration I have decided to NOT purchase this. It’s pretty but simply not worth the price. Honeysuckle isn’t prevalent enough and both sillage and longevity don’t warrant the expense. I think I was taken in by marketing.

I was excited to try this one because of the honeysuckle listed. Although it is a generally pleasant perfume, the honeysuckle is hardly even noticeable. The main thing I smell, is grapefruit. It reminds me of the way my hands smell after peeling a grapefruit. I’m not a huge fan of straight citrus scents, so I don’t think I would purchase this one.

I have really enjoyed the other perfumes in the Aerin line – their Lilac Path is gorgeous and true to lilac, and the same goes for Rose de Grasse and Ikat Jasmine. So I had been looking forward to trying their honeysuckle perfume.
Now that I have it on what can I say? Its a missed opportunity! Honeysuckle is a note that is not done very frequently in perfumery unlike rose and jasmine (both of which I love too), so a new honeysuckle perfume is something I look forward to. Alas, in this fragrance the grapefruit and citrus are quite strong and as the perfume progresses towards the drydown, the grapefruit really is the main player and the honeysuckle is really shy. What a pity! But of course its good for my wallet. One perfume that I will not be adding to my wishlist!

So disappointed. No honeysuckle, just citrus. Reminds me of Clinique Happy. It’s not a bad fragrance, just not special and definitely not worth the high price tag.

This has the most contrasting stages of any fragrance I have ever tried. On first spray it is sweet, fresh, sparkling green and very citrusy. 15 minutes later it becomes a soft musky old style Lauder fragrance and 15 minutes after that it transforms into a sour, unpleasant, bargain bin drugstore mess.
The bottles for Aerin’s fragrances are lovely and I get the whole “pay a fortune for understated elegance” marketing angle, but to me they lack a wow factor and have a drugstore vibe after spectacular beginnings. It’s like they’re so simple and pared down to the point where they’re almost… pointless.

Stays very citrus-y, even after an hour. I don’t pick up any honeysuckle. This frag keeps its citrus going for much longer than any other perfume of its ilk, on my skin.
After 6 hours, the honeysuckle makes an appearance.
While I don’t really want a citrus fragrance right now, this would be top of my list, if I did.

Had such high expectations for this fragrance. It smells really nice, fresh and sparkling for the first 10 minutes but then it takes a very bad turn and becomes a sickly combo of gardenia and lily of the valley. Tested on the skin on a warm day ( 29C). It’s unfortunately a pass for me.
