‘The fragrance is built around linden blossom and mimosa flowers. This is a refreshing, sunny and seductive ‘good mood’ scent.’
I was intrigued by the description and really wanted to get my hands on a ‘fuzzy’ and happy spring fragrance. Not sure why I though it smelled good when I tested it in a shop – might have been under the influence of cold January weather and longing for something sweet, cosy and reminiscent of spring.
On me the scent opens with strong hyacynth and sweet powdery violet, without any grassy or aquatic notes. The top notes are quick to disappear, the drydown for me is overpowered by linden blossom and honey (and I just recently realised that I’m not a huge fan of honey in perfume). Mimosa doesn’t add a specific scent but rather gives a bit of ‘dustiness’ like you get in the air from tree pollen.
This is pretty much it. There isn’t much of a dynamic to be honest and so this perfume is just simply boring. Overall I don’t like it enough to wear it outside the house, and actually I started using it as a room spray. The vibe I get from it is that of the yellow Lenor fabric softner.
The name ‘Mechta’ translates as ‘Dream’ from Russian. Well, if it is a dream then it must be a dream of a housewife.
