The bottle is FABULOUS!!! God it’s stunning!!! I would love this perfume JUST for the bottle, if I didn’t love it for itself; which I DO wholeheartedly! It’s a wonderful perfume. Delicious notes perfectly gorgeously blended into a dream!!! I adore it!!!

I truly regretted gifting this to my little sister, it is such a beautifully composed scent. You can really smell the caramel surround you with wafts of lightly scented flowers. It does remind of me of Prada Candy but they’re are more like cousin who than sisters, they both have distinctions that set them apart. While Prada Candy is a sweet leathery goodness, Mark Jewel is warm, toasty and just as mature. I can even smell the scent on my clothes a few days later, so I’d imagine it’s a long lasting scent.

This reminds me so much of Prada candy! Love this scent!

This perfume is now discontinued 🙁 I remember it like if it was yesterday. It was soo nice, sweet and simplistic.I recently bought Prada Candy and it smells just like Jewel. They’re both very sweet and like salted caramel with hints of fruit, benzoin and vanilla in the background. If you still own Jewel you are very lucky. Don’t spend money on Prada Candy or vice versa (they are basically the same thing)

I used this quite often before it was discontinued and liked it but I think my tastes changed. It’s still nice but it seems a little over sweet to me now. I think my nose became a little tiered of it years ago and I stopped using it. I sniffed my old bottle recently and said “yum, I’ll wear it to bed!” It was as lovely as I remembered it at first but than went all sickly sweet and all I could smell was sugary caramel. Oh well. I’ll keep it in my like list.

Peppery lilies and the warmth of caramel and sandalwood. A touch too sweet for my style, but I could eat this stuff up. I think it would layer Really well.

I agree with Aiona that this has a very distinctive smell…I remember someone said that this perfume smelled like Christmas to them.
I remember when this fragrance first came out and I was smelling it in an Avon advert that was mailed to my house. I couldn’t get enough of the smell…it’s very unique to me even to me now. It doesn’t give me a headache like Britney Spears Fantasy or Aquolina’s Pink Sugar…it’s more sophisticated.
It starts off with red berries, vanilla, and caramel. As the fragrance wears, it still retains the same gourmand-y scent along with the white floral-lily note. Kudos to whoever made this BUT, the longevity is poor. Which sucks, because it works well with my chemistry. I can see myself going through the bottle really quickly, which is kind of depressing. I might see if I can get the Jewel Shine EDP or Mariah Carey Dreams EDP hoping for similarity.
If you are on a budget and looking for an amazing fall/winter scent…check it out!

It smells a lot like Prada Candy too!! Very Similar!!

I didn’t like this one,I like the Jewel Shine much better.I didn’t smell any caramel or vanilla. This was too harsh for my taste!

Immediately after application, it is very strong caramel goodness – all sweet and delicious. On the drydown, it is similar to Jean Charles L’Ombre Rose. I was all set to order a bottle until the drydown. It is still good but not the smell I would like to be sniffing for hours. It reminds me of classic colognes in the 70’s by stay at home moms worn everyday to save the good classics like Chanel and Guerlain. Powdery, and reminiscent of makeup powders. If the top notes stay, I would love it more.
    One spray, on me:
    Sillage: about two feet
Longevity: after two hours, can only smell if nose-to-wrist
    Rating: 2/5

This fragrance is Easter in a bottle! Lily and caramel, it is the perfect comfort scent for Lent, or simply for braving a stressful day at work. It is a scent of hope and promise that better, warmer days are on their way.
Is this as refined as my favorite Chanels, Guerlains and Givenchys? No. But that is part of its appeal – this reminds me of the scents I would smell on other girls in high school and college. While reminiscent of those scents, it has a self-respect which makes it appropriate for women of any age. It makes me feel younger, happier and more carefree without feeling immature.
The scent does not last very long. After being applied at 8am, it needs to be reapplied at lunch time. Oh well!

No caramel, no vanilla…Just straight up fruit and sharp lillies…
*heavy sigh*…I was so hoping for caramel…
Oh, well…Back to the drawing board…

If anyone told you Jewel smells like Caress’s exfoliating brown sugar body wash, it does not. Although, I can see how they may compliment one another, it is not the same scent if that’s what you’re looking for.
The more I wear it, the more I like it. Soft. I consider it a vanilla with an uplifting upgrade. If this is considered a “gourmand” then I would say it is on the lighter side of them, Jewel is not a heavy scent at all.
An inoffensive perfume, I prefer it for day wear. I find it to be casual but confident. I only smelled the fruit notes in the initial spritz and found them to fade very quickly on my skin.
The dry down is pleasant, warm yet airy. Besides the floral note, the choice of a lighter wood adds to the airiness which I think gives Jewel a unique touch. I found the vanilla used in Jewel to be on the exotic side more in line with a fresh vanilla bean than a frosted cupcake.
Medium sillage, may need to be re-applied.
Unfortunately discontinued. This is my SO’s favorite scent on me which is like salt to the wound.

This is one of my favorite mark perfumes. It is so young and full of sweet caramel. Mine came with a lotion and I really love it!

Why do my reviews keep disappearing? I am 34 and received this on a swap and loved it to death. While trying to down size my perfume collection odecided to sell it on ebay. I have had sellers remorse ever sense, I want it back very badly. I miss this lovely sweet scent.

I used to love this scent and I wore it in high school but now I wouldn’t dare to wear this! This smells like plastic on me now 🙁

Sweet, warm, feminine but not tweenie thanks to the Lily. I’m not smelling any similarity between this and JS fancy at all.Jewel is more mature and well rounded. Sillage & lasting power could be better though…wish it came in edp.

Super sweet! Dry down is pure caramel candy. Very warm and delicious.
Update: I now have a full bottle and can review this better–it is indeed a little similar to Mark Sophistique…something about the powdery base reminds me of that one. But Jewel is sweeter, and less soapy than Sophistique.
It is surprisingly soft for how sweet it is–the floral notes temper the vanilla and caramel nicely. I am wearing it this Christmas, but something about it feels more like a summer night to me. I think Jewel is going to be great for when the weather is warm and my other sweet perfumes are too heavy. This will be just right!

This is one of my favorite perfumes. Sweet and delicous smelling. However I only wear it on special occasion because I feel the scent has a touch of elegance and is too delicate for everyday.

  22. :

it smells mostly like coconut and suntan lotion on me, not really what I expected reading the notes.
not bad after all, just a little bit too sweet.
I see a big similarity with BBW Riceflower & Shea.

I had this in my want list for a long time due to the notes sounding very appealing. I had the chance today to smell a tester at a store, and it was awful. There was a plastic smell, and I could not recognize any of the notes listed.

i bought this on a whim, right after it came out, and i was surprised at how nice it is. B&BW Twilight Woods is quite similar, to my nose, and i like it, too. both are creamy-woodsy-sweet-berry sorts of scents and are very different from so many other things i’ve tried!

  25. :

This smells pretty, but to my nose it is a dupe for Bath & Body Works “Warm Vanilla Sugar”…..except I can wear and stomach “Jewel”….WVS makes me want to wretch, not sure why. “Jewel” is a soft, sweet scent…cozy, even. Good for really cold weather, I don’t think I would wear this in the summertime. My hubby loves this scent, but I’ll only wear it for him I think. I am a Pink Sugar girl and can sniff that all day long..but with “Jewel”, it is nice to catch wafts of throughout the day but I think if I am not careful I’ll be over it fast :S

Ugh! SO NOT me! Remember “Babe” back from the 70s and 80s? If you loved it when you were a kid, THIS IS IT. I’m 40 now and I do NOT want to smell like it any longer! BIG THUMBS-DOWN from me. I’m so glad I sprayed it in the air… outside… on a windy day. I bought the “Hook Up” 5 mL/0.169 oz. size on clearance. HUGE sigh of relief on that one. If my 10 yr. old daughter doesn’t like it, it’s going straight in the trash.

    *magalog description from mark.*
“A blend of irresistible femininity and sweet seduction. Luscious fruits and sensual casablanca lily mingle with amorous macchiato, liquid caramel and warm vanilla for a scent that is as decadent as it is captivating. JEWEL makes an impression that lasts long after you are gone…”
This scent is the one that has been around longer than any other mark. fragrance. Most of this company’s releases are “fragrance mists”, JEWEL is a true eau de toilette. This starts with a typical fruity accord, rather non-specific and sweetly generic like many other modern scents labelled “for her”. So I was not all that impressed…until a gorgeous creamy lily materialized in front of me from the fruit stand. This scent went (in under 15 minutes) from “meh” to “Oh YEAH”! This is not a pollen dripping stargazer, or your mother’s Easter lily; this is a lily that grows wild, heady and full of life. In one description, macchiato FLOWER is listed but to me it is more of an steaming demitasse of espresso topped with foamed milk. Dark, slightly bitter and thick, with a whipped creaminess that balances it well. As it dries down completely, a gooey (but not too sweet) caramel melts into a sensual vanilla. Delicious and oh so rich, floral fruity gourmand is the perfect classification for this fragrance. I am tempted to say Victoria Secret meets ANGEL, but that would a bit of an oversimplification; although it gives you a good “idea” of what JEWEL is: something sweetly fruity then floral, finishing with an almost sinful deliciousness.
    Sillage: average
    Longevity: good
    Overall: 3.75/5
Despite it being “built” on one of the most feminine flowers around and the rather lackluster opening, Jewel is actually something I will definitely wear, and REALLY enjoy. Smooth and creamy, with a darker (but not heavy) finish…coffee and caramel and vanilla: OH MY!! If you are looking for an affordable floral fruity gourmand, look no further. At 22 US dollars for 50ml. (full retail) this is actually quite impressive, as far as projection and duration, and you simply cannot go wrong for that price. Lovely…

Mark perfumes are often a little too light for me to “love,” although I usually at least “like” the scents for everyday – nothing special – cute bottles – “cute” scents – nothing more. There have been a few that stood out though with something unique and special. Jewel is one of these perfumes (along with Karmala, Bohista, Greek Isles…). I love it from the first floral fruity blast to the sweets to what seems to be amber later in the day. There seem to be notes in it not listed above, but whatever its recipe, it is a creative and successful mixture.

Don’t know what all the hype is about. I bought this on impulse because of a misleading liquitouch sample. I smell none of the so-called gourmand notes, just old-lady florals. I gladly returned it.

i am an avon rep but really don’t wear any of the fragrances even though many are well done. This one is beautiful though- sweet vanilla caramel but not cloying and above average staying power. i gave it to a prof i know and she got many compliments at work- it’s not offensive but not conventional.

  32. :

The best things about Jewel is the fact that although this is a rich gourmand, it is NOT sickly sweet at all. This is a very simple fragrance, which I like. Also- the lily partners well with the caramel. A plus- the bottle is really cute~

Fresh and light. Perfect for when you don’t want to smell “perfumey”. I don’t smell the caramel, which is a bit of a disappointment, but it still is nice. It somewhat resembles Noa Perle, IMO.

I really like this perfume..on me it is fruity and creamy smooth with a little sexy spice..i had grown tired of all the sweet fruity candy fragrances that had been on the market but something in this makes it just a little more sophisticated and sexy…men seem to like it….and Aiona is right.. it smells like another perfume to me i just can’t quite figure it out….i am just thrilled i found such an affordable perfume that i find this wonderful.

I love this one. Not much vanilla or caramel comes through for me, but a delicious blend of mostly floral and wood. This lasts all day. The bottle is cute (it looks like an inkwell), but the cap isn’t very secure. I love love love this one.

I used to work for Avon so I have about 4 bottles of this fragrance that I got for free! (PM me if you want one 🙂 ). And I must say, it is simply delicious and has become a staple in my collection! The vanilla/caramel notes combine with yummy florals to create a soft and sexy scent that entices and intrigues. It’s really unique, and if you dig gourmand fragrances like me, I think you should try it. It’s so inexpensive anyways so you really have nothing to lose!

I love collecting different perfumes. And with this being the main Mark perfume I just had to get it. Finally when it went on sale I got it, and I’m glad I did. I love the scent of the caramel and vanilla together. It’s a very rich scent but at the same time it has a kind of childhood innocence. Very wonderful!

  38. :

I didn’t get any caramel at all in this. I got a coconut scent with boozy peach that dried down to really strong, loud sandalwood. I would almost like it if the boozy peach was alone, but there’s too much going on here and it’s much too loud on my skin.

  39. :

Yes, I love this fragrance! It is so yummy vanilla caramel, luscious, sweet indeed! Me, my Mom, Sister, Aunt and Cousin all love it and bought it from me lol!

Wow! I just caught a whiff of this on someone at work today. It smells wonderful and very distinctive (not to be confused with ‘distinguished’). It smells much like a perfume that used to be around in the mid-1980’s but which disappeared without my ever finding out its name.
‘Kinda flowery, but with something else. . . . aldehydes? Or amber? Or maybe the “caramel.” Yummy!
I’m not a cannibal, but I wanted to lick the woman wearing it!
